There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The main objective is to evaluate the sensitivity of the EPA® for screening for malnutrition in general medicine in adults.
Tool use is considered to be the hallmark of complex cognitive adaptations that humans have achieved trough evolution, that provides an adaptive advantage to the human species. Even if nonhuman species do use tools too, human tool use is much more complex and sophisticated. Besides, only humans can make their tools evolve by improving them. If Man has special abilities for tool use, it has to be grounded in a specific neuroanatomical substrate. Humans and nonhumans share a similar prehension system located within the superior parietal lobe and the intraparietal sulcus. However, there is a human specificity : the surpramarginal gyrus within the left inferior parietal lobe is unique to Man, and could play a central role in tool use and tool evolution. This project aims to study the neural correlates of human tool use with functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), to precise the cognitive mechanisms through which humans are able to use tools. We also wish to study what are the cognitive abilities that allow us to make our tools evolve by improving them, and the neural correlates associated.
Worldwide Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) has significant negative personal, societal and economic consequences. Vortioxetine (Brintellix®) is a new antidepressant authorized since 2013. Despite evidence generated from clinical trials which demonstrate that vortioxetine is an efficacious, well-tolerated antidepressant, there is a need to determine the effectiveness of vortioxetine in real life routine practice. The study aim is to examine the real-life effectiveness of vortioxetine on functioning, depressive symptom relief, cognition and quality of life. This is an observational, multi-national, study in patients with MDD initiating treatment with vortioxetine. Information will be collected by the physician, from the patient and their medical record at three time points - baseline, week 12 and week 24 (end of follow-up). This study will be conducted in six countries. In total 2,100 patients are planned for enrolment.
Preoxygenation remains an important determinant of morbidity and mortality in anesthesia despite advances in mask ventilation and difficult intubation management. 1. The usual practice Preoxygenation prior to the injection of the anesthetic agents is the administration of pure oxygen to delay the occurrence of hypoxemia during the apnea phase and intubation maneuvers. It consists of applying a mask on the patient's face and allowing it to ventilate, ensuring a perfect seal of the device. The end of oxygen exhalation fraction is a good reflection of the alveolar oxygenation and a value of 95% corresponds to a "total" alveolar oxygenation. When this value is reached, the injection of the anesthetic agents (hypnotic, morphine and myorelaxant) leads to the loss of consciousness and apnea, which forces to continue the manual ventilation to the mask. Intubation is performed when the myorelaxation is complete. 2. Anesthetic induction "without the hands" The Optiflow Anesthesia (Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, Auckland, New Zealand) device provides heated, Humidified High-Flow Nasal Oxygen. The hypothesis of this study is that Humidified High-Flow Nasal Oxygen, should allow anesthetic induction without having to impose the patient the establishment of a facial mask for several minutes before anesthetic induction and the doctor anesthetist assisted ventilation with the mask before intubation.
General Hypothesis: hypothesize that A / A symptoms of AD follow a particular course, influenced by associated factors, and a prospective longitudinal observational study specifically evaluating A / A symptoms in patients with MA, living in an institution and at home, would provide useful data for both clinical practice and research. Specific Hypothesis: hypothesize that in patients with AD with clinically significant A / A there is a correlation between assessment of A / A severity based on specific scales of A / A and overall impression assessment of clinical improvement or worsening of these symptoms by the clinician.
It aims to demonstrate the superiority of a 6-week supplementation with Lactibiane Buccodental compared to placebo, as adjunctive therapy in chronic periodontitis in patients with generalized chronic periodontitis
A French, multicenter, prospective, observational, "real life" assessment of the safety and efficacy of LVIS and LVIS JR devices in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms
The therapeutic arsenal of metastatic melanoma has changed considerably over the past 10 years. The treatment of metastatic melanoma is now based on immunotherapy and targeted therapies, while the place of conventional chemotherapy becomes more restricted. Targeted therapies are indicated for BRAF mutated melanomas. The mutation BRAF leads activation of MAP Kinases pathway and the proliferation of melanoma cell in the body . About 50% of metastatic melanoma is BRAF mutated. The most frequent mutation is the V600E. The targeted therapy by anti BRAF and anti MEK allows the double bloking of the MAP Kinases pathway. This treatment is more efficient than that of the anti BRAF alone. The association of anti BRAF and anti MEK have a global survival global rate of 41% at the 1 year, against 9% for the anti BRAF . In 2014, a program of extended access to the association of anti BRAF and anti MEK (dabrafenib and trametinib) started in many french hospitals (Protocol Mekinist, Novartis laboratory). Patients who were included in this program and followed in Poitiers Hospital, had frequent abnormalities of albumin level without any sign of undernutrition. Hypoabuminemia is a poor prognosis factor described in many cancers, including metastatic melanoma. The only prognostic factor in metastatic melanoma is the rate of LDH . The level of albumin and its prognostic impact have not been studied for patients with a metastatic melanoma and treated by anti BRAF and anti MEK. The objective of this studie was to analyze the variations of albumin level in patients with unresecable stage IIIc or stage IV melanoma treated in our Center by dabrafenib and trametinib
There are significant variations in blood circulation at birth with the transition from fetal to permanent circulation. These variations are particularly impacted by the closure of the arterial canal within the first 48 hours of life. Blood circulation velocity values within the cerebral arteries have been well documented in newborns and infants a few days old. However, the initial values of these velocities and their variations during the first hours of life are not well known. The objective of this study is to describe the evolution of brain circulation at birth in newborns over 35 weeks of gestational age and to investigate the effect of arterial canal closure on brain circulation.
