Cognitive impairements in Alzheimer's and apparented disorders may lead to the decreased engagement in activities, spetially in moderate and advanced stages of evolution. The lack of stimulation for people with dementia is associated with the risk of challenging behaviors, depressives symptoms, sleeping disorders or faster cognitive deterioration. Those challenges may lead to the increased administration of pharmacological treatments, though the risks of neurleptics use in this population are currently known. In this context, non-pharacological interventions hold a significant place in dementia care. This research focuses on cognitve stimulation activities. More precisly, our study compares two aproaches using the reading groups. The first type (" usual " reading group) is based on the principle of stimulating those cognitive functions which dicreases with the evolution of dementia. The second (Montessori reading group) approach relies on the idea to use preserved capacities in order to compensate the cognitive impariments. The aim of our study is to compare the impact of these two non-pharmalogical interventions on non-verbal communication. The collected datas will help analyzing and understanding the internal and behavioral states of people living with dementia. Our study will also extend relfexions about cognitive stimulation groups in care institutions.
In contrary to what is seen in FRT cells, rectal organoids of patients with a R334W mutation do respond to CFTR modulators ivacaftor and lumacaftor. The present study will investigate the response to modulators in organoids of 30 patients with CF and a R334W mutation, to allow further stratificaton for a future clinical trial assessing the clinical effect of ivacaftor/tezacaftor in patients with CF and a R334W mutation.
Evaluate the illness experience of patients with keratoconus as well as the rubbing habits of this population compared to the general population. To do this, the investigators used a questionnaire made by a Bordeaux team with questions on the experience of the patients' illness, their management and their friction habits
The study is set up due to regulatory purposes and to collect routine clinical data of the mobile-bearing implant univation XM. The study is designed as a prospective follow-up study with a historic patient cohort who have been treated with the product under investigation two years ago. This design is selected to quicker realize follow-up data as patients have already been treated in the past. As the mobile version of the implant is not widely used, the study will be set up as a monocentric study in France. The clinical hypothesis of the study is that patients who are treated with the product under investigation have a similar outcome and survival rate in comparison to other established unicondylar knee systems on the market. Comparison for the later evaluation will be taken out of recent orthopaedic registries.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), one of the most frequent respiratory diseases, could represent a major worsening factor in a non alcoholic steatohepatitis and neoplastic context. Our hypothesis is that OSA promotes the prevalence of HCC related to NASH. This national, multicenter study aims to compare the prevalence of OSA in a group of patient curatively resected for NASH-related HCC with a group of HCV-related HCC.
The objective is to evaluate the quality of the response to the Blood Oxygen Level Dependent effect in fetuses with diaphragmatic hernias and abdominal wall malformations and to correlate with postnatal respiratory outcome. Pulmonary involvement is a constant in diaphragmatic hernias, it is classic in omphaloceles and especially hepatomphaloceles, and exceptional in laparoschisis. As this is an original exploratory study, no preliminary data are available. If a correlation is found, the Blood Oxygen Level Dependent effect of the fetal lung may be considered as an early functional marker of postnatal lung function. It can be used in addition to lung-to-head-ratio during prenatal counseling. The final goal is to be able to detect early in the fetus pulmonary insufficiency to help prenatal counseling and perinatal care.
The aim of this study is to test whether the realization of 3 courses of intra-arterial chemotherapy of idarubicin-lipiodol without embolization, administered non-selectively in the hepatic artery, following the percutaneous tumour ablation of a hepatocellular carcinoma, could constitute an effective adjuvant treatment to reduce the rates of local and intrahepatic distant recurrence and thus improve the survival without hepatic progression.
The frequency of IUGR is between 3 and 10% of births. The etiologies and mechanisms of IUGR are multiple. The placental insufficiency, that is the defect of perfusion, is, however, the principal mechanism, far in front of other maternal or fetal causes. This placental insufficiency is also now recognized as an essential risk factor for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, in adulthood. The interest in understanding in utero development is thus further increased by the short-, medium- and long-term consequences of placental dysfunction. However, there are few ways to evaluate uteroplacental vascularization in vivo. MRI is an imaging technique used routinely in the exploration of the fetus in addition to ultrasound. Its safety on the fetus and the mother is largely demonstrated at 1.5T. There are also MRI sequences used daily in the clinic to evaluate perfusion and organ structure in children and adults (brain, kidney, heart, etc.). Their application for evaluation of perfusion and placental structure, although still confined to research, is very promising. The investigator's team has extensive experience, in animals or in children, in the use of these sequences that could be used to evaluate placental function in vivo. The ASL (Arterial Spin Labeling) in particular is the most encouraging functional imaging technique because it allows today to measure an organ blood flow quantitatively and without injection of contrast medium.
The main purpose of this study is to see if the drug LY3200882 which is an inhibitor of transforming growth factor-β (TGFβ) receptor 1 in combination with pembrolizumab is safe and effective in participants with cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
This randomized, multicenter, double-blind (DB), placebo controlled, phase 2 study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of IgPro10. The DB Treatment Period will be followed by a 24-week Open-label (OL) Treatment Period. Eligible subjects will be randomized at Baseline in a 2:1 ratio of treatment IgPro10 or placebo in the DB Treatment Period. All subjects who enter OL Treatment Period will receive IgPro10.
