There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Lack of an effective treatment for macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion and the bad response to grid laser treatment in patients with macular edema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion, together with the high incidence of the pathology and the great functional loss in the patients that suffer from it has motivated the search for new therapeutic approaches. In recent times, intravitreal bevacizumab has been tested in clinical practice in small series of patients with this pathology, whether as first treatment or after failure of grid laser treatment with good functional results in short series. However, no retreatment information is available, although preliminary results from published series are good.
This is a prospective single-center randomized trial comparing the efficacy and safety of PV cryoablation with the Arctic Front® catheter versus the standard PV isolation using radiofrequency irrigated tip catheters. The efficacy of both strategies will be evaluated from a clinical point of view and from the detection and quantification of AF episodes by means of the Reveal XT® implantable loop recorder.
A pharmacodynamic study to evaluate the effect of AV-299 on exploratory pharmacodynamic markers in subjects with advanced solid tumors who have liver metastases. To evaluate safety and tolerability of AV-299 administered IV in subjects with advanced solid tumors who have liver metastases.
This study will be a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study. After enrolment and initial assessments, subjects will receive oral GW856553 7.5 milligram (mg) twice daily (BID) or matching placebo for 28 days in a 1:1 ratio. Sufficient numbers of subjects will be recruited to obtain 142 evaluable subjects. This is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel group study. Subjects will undertake a screening period which may last up to approximately 3 weeks, followed by a baseline period of 1 week, a randomized treatment period of 4 weeks and a follow-up period of approximately 2 weeks. This is a multi-centre, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study in subjects who have at least moderate intensity of neuropathic pain resulting from peripheral nerve injury due to trauma or surgery. It will investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of GW856553 over 28 days of treatment. Approximately 158 subjects will be randomized to ensure 142 evaluable subjects. Randomization ratio will be 1:1 for placebo or GW856553 respectively. The dose of GW856553 will be 7.5 mg BID.
This study is exploring different administration schedules (short versus prolonged infusion) to optimize the safety and efficacy profile of EPO906A (patupilone) in patients with pretreated advanced colon cancer.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the cardiovascular outcomes of alogliptin, once daily (QD), compared with placebo, in addition to standard of care, in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and acute coronary syndrome.
Effects of long term albumin administration on the cardiocirculatory and renal function and hepatic hemodynamics in patients with advanced cirrhosis and ascites.
The purpose of this study is: To evaluate the safety and performance of the Presillion stent in routine clinical practice.
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of intravitreal injections of bevacizumab in High Myopia´s choroidal neovascularization versus the standard treatment of Photodynamic therapy.
Patients that completed any of the trials; CS27 (NCT00738673), CS28 (NCT00831233), CS30 (NCT00833248) or CS31 (NCT00884273) will be given the opportunity to receive monthly doses of degarelix until the drug is launched in their country. Safety parameters such as electrocardiogram (ECG), blood and urine samples and general health state will be studied. Note: patients completing the CS27 trial did not participate in the CS34 trial.
