The aim of the study is to evaluate the beneficial effects of the administration of enteral nutrition product with milk proteins, monounsaturated fatty acids and low dextrose equivalent maltodextrin and enriched in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and medium chain triglycerides (MCT) in patients with mild acute pancreatitis. All this against other specific product. The main objectives of this project are: - Comparing the tolerance of both preparations. - Comparing the evolution of nutritional status in both groups. - Comparing the evolution of inflammatory parameters in both groups
Treatment of patients with drug-eluting stent restenosis remains a challenge. This study will assess which interventional strategy (paclitaxel-eluting balloon vs everolimus-eluting stent) is superior in the treatment of patients suffering from drug-eluting stent restenosis.
Patients who present rhizarthrosis diagnostic will be randomized to be treated with chondroitin sulfate or placebo during 24 weeks to study the effect of the treatment with objective and subjective indicators of pain and sensibility.
The Magnetecs Catheter Guidance Control and Imaging (CGCI) system is a magnetic remote navigation system which is comprised of a magnetic chamber of eight electromagnets around the patient torso. The system can change the magnetic field almost instantaneously and enables almost real time manipulation of a special magnetic catheter (Maxwell mapping catheter) which results in accurate, repeatable, rapid and safe target acquisition within the four chambers of the human heart. The trial is a prospective, non-randomized, clinical one designed to test the study hypotheses of (a) technical equivalence of the study device in comparison to other magnetic remote navigation systems, (b) performance equivalence or non-inferiority of the study device target acquisition capability compared to presently used catheter navigation techniques, and (c) safety equivalence or non-inferiority of the study device in comparison to catheter navigation devices using other navigation techniques.
Coronary disease is one of the most frequent pathology of the modern world and the leading cause of death in the investigators country. In Spain more than 50.000 coronary percutaneous intervention and more than 5.000 coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures are performed every year. Despite this data about 12% of patients have diffuse coronary disease and are not candidates to conventional therapies. Also between 15-25% of patients undergoing coronary bypass grafting receive an incomplete revascularization due to the poor quality of the coronary vessels. Transmyocardial revascularization (TMR) is a surgical procedure that uses a laser to create channels through the myocardial, so this laser stimulates local angiogenesis and provides blood in the ischemic area. Results of this procedure have shown clear benefits in terms of reduction of angina and increase of survival of patients, compared to medical treatment. Cell therapy in heart disease is offering in recent years encouraging results despite the methodological difficulties that being able to use this technique sometimes involves. The basis lies in the potential ability of stem cells to differentiate into any type of adult cell. In the case of cardiac cell therapy, stem cells can differentiate into myocardial cells or vascular cells capable of developing angiogenesis. Further studies are needed to draw firm conclusions about the clinical impact that the use of stem cells has on cardiovascular disease. Recently a system has been developed to create, at the same time and in a simple and effective way, the laser channels and the introduction of stem cells on the edges of these channels. This system called PHOENIX ™ consists of a laser probe capable of creating transmural channels in the myocardium. Based on the what has just been explained, it is quite possible that the combination of both therapies can increase successful results regarding the reduction in angina these patients need. Initially, and after having some experience with this type of treatment, the results could be analyzed and compared with the results obtained through laser therapy, with the help of a controlled clinical trial, such as the one the investigators are proposing.
The overall goal of IMOAP study is to assess whether the efficacy of the healthcare professionals' usual practices, together with a motivational group intervention (delivered by a nurse trained by an expert psychologist), is more effective than an isolated traditional intervention on weight loss and its maintenance in overweight and obese patients. Furthermore, the study will evaluate whether this result has a positive impact on quality of life, changes in eating habits, and a reduction in the associated cardiovascular risk factors and overall cardiovascular risk.

Background: Patients with severe mental illness (SMI) have a higher prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) than the general population and a control of these risk factors poorer. Serious mental illness often causes health teams to focus interventions in mental illness and put aside the CVRF. Objectives: This project aims to assess the CVRF, stratify the cardiovascular risk, adequate drug treatment to reduce this risk and evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention by professional community nurses in patients with SMI. Materials and Methods: Prospective study of a cohort of patients over 18 years with a diagnosis of SMI with two cross sections to evaluate the cardiovascular risk and adequacy of drug treatment. The investigators calculate the risk to the cardiovascular risk tables with the SCORE (Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation) for countries of low cardiovascular risk and the of Framingham REGICOR (Heart registry of Girona, Spain). The adequacy of pharmacotherapy will be assessed contrasting it with the recommendations of the Program of Preventive Activities and Health Promotion of Family medical association. The intervention will be conducted by professional nurses and consist of an initial psycho-educational intervention, and two more reinforcement throughout twelve months, of duration less than 30 minutes that will be addressed in an integrated manner the clinical situation with regard to cardiovascular risk. If necessary, pharmacological treatment will be prescribed. Twelve months after the first intervention, a second evaluation on cardiovascular risk and the effectiveness of the intervention will be performed.
Multivessel disease has been reported to occur between 40 and 60% of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and has been associated to a worse prognosis. Multivessel revascularization offers a myriad of potential advantages as enhance of the collateral blood flow, greater myocardial salvage, the stabilization of other lesions that can be potentially vulnerable, and the achievement of a complete revascularization, factor that is associated with a better prognosis. On the other hand, the prolongation of procedural duration, the hazard of contrast induced nephropathy and the peri-procedural complications can limit the widespread of this practice. To date, very few observational studies have focused in the multivessel revascularization with disparity of results. Whereas ones have observed an increase of adverse cardiovascular events and thus not recommend it, others have shown neutral results. Stress echocardiography has been shown to be an adequate technique for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease and could be an appropriate tool for selecting the lesions that need to be revascularized because they induce large areas of ischemia. However, this technique has also limitations like the high operator-dependence. Therefore, the investigators sought to study if the complete multivessel revascularization of patients with STEMI treated by means of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has an impact on prognosis compared to a strategy of treating only those non-culprit lesions that produce large areas of ischemia in a stress test.
The technique of blood samples extraction from the radial artery through an arterial catheter with a 3-way stopcock and automated washing with valve of fast flow is better than the one carried out through a fixed reusable arterial blood sample syringe and its manual washing because it shows a minor incidence of the complications originated from technical manipulation as infection, pseudo-aneurysm, ischemia or thrombosis of radial artery or obstruction of the catheter. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, in terms of adverse effects, of blood samples obtention using an arterial catheter with needless connector closed system or an arterial catheter with an arterial blood sample syringe. Also a second purpose is to compare once a day (at the same time) the values of glycose blood levels between bedside glucometer determination of arterial catheter extraction and capillar puncture, and lab determination of glycose from venous puncture, in order to determinate fluctuation in glycose levels due to peripherical hypoperfusion or to vasoactive drugs received by these in-intensive care unit patients.
