There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study was to designed to measure the true worldwide practice of liver surgery and associated outcomes by recruiting multiple international centres, committing to consecutive patient registration per surgeon and undergo rigorous data validation. It is hoped that these data will provide a more appropriate guide to inform surgeons and patients to assess which level of complexity should be routinely offered for high tumour burden and anatomically difficult scenarios.
Liver cancer (HCC) is the second cause of death related to cancer worldwide, with about 750,000 deaths from this cause in 2012. Although the early diagnosis of liver cancer increases the available treatment options, the methods currently used for screening are not sufficiently sensitive for this purpose. The investigators provide a high-performance and highly reliable in vitro platform that allows the identification and quantification of autoantibodies in serum for use as biomarkers of liver cancer, using an ELISA test (Yliver). The aim of the study is to demonstrate whether the Yliver test can be used as a biomarker for the early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma with a collection of samples from 58 patients diagnosed with HCC, 42 cirrhosis, 40 normal controls and the inclusion of 25-50 patients with chronic liver disease without cirrhosis.
Objectives: Evaluate the effect on emotional intelligence levels of an educational intervention. Design: Randomized Clinical Trial Methods: An intervention on emotional intelligence was conducted in a Primary School. Students were recruited and randomized into intervention or control group (no intervention) by class (cluster). Total sample was 179. Results were measured with EQi-YV and ERQ-CA questionnaires. Statistical analysis was made with Student's t and Mann-Whitney's U tests.
It has been reported that peripheral and lymph node resident Cluster of Differentiation 4 (CD4)+ T cells expressing Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) contribute to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) persistence during Antiretroviral Therapy (ART). In HIV-infected individuals, PD-1 expression on CD4+ T cells correlates with HIV disease progression, and loss of HIV-specific CD4+ T cell function can be reversed in vitro by PD-1 blockade. There are only a limited number of case reports describing the evolution of HIV-infected patients with concurrent oncological disease treated with immunological checkpoint inhibitors. However, this case provides very limited information on the effect of pembrolizumab on the HIV reservoir. Here, the investigators aim at describing changes in the HIV reservoir and in the HIV-specific immunity in HIV-infected patients on ART who receive immunological checkpoint inhibitors for the treatment of cancer, especially for metastatic melanoma.
Trimodal prehabilitation consists of a short-term (~ four to six weeks) preventive intervention to: i) enhance aerobic capacity and daily physical activity; ii) nutritional optimization; and, iii) psychological support before a major surgical procedure. The final aim of prehabilitation is to decrease surgical complications and speed-up postoperative functional recovery.
The main purpose of this open-label, dose-escalation, phase Ib study is to identify the appropriate dose of MEN1611 to be used in combination with Trastuzumab with/without Fulvestrant for the treatment of advanced or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer
This is a prospective, non-interventional, observational study. Malnourished subjects with diabetes, who are receiving a high calorie, high protein tube feeding with slow release carbohydrates and MUFA by their health care professional (HCP) per standard of care will be enrolled into the study.
The purpose of this clinical study is to determine whether the addition of an oral Factor XIa Inhibitor to Aspirin and Clopidogrel is more effective than standard therapy in secondary stroke prevention.
Patients will be randomized into 2 groups: - Vit E group: Vitamin E ointment will be applied over staple lines and anastomoses - Control group: Vitamin E will not be applied Postoperative pain will be assessed 24 hours after surgery.
The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of fostamatinib in subjects with warm antibody autoimmune hemolytic anemia (wAIHA).
