There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Introduction: Postural control is a crucial factor for maintaining balance while standing and walking. The shoe has a role to play in postural stability. Objectives: To evaluate the static balance of subjects when barefoot and when using three types of footwear with their eyes closed or open. Material and methods:
This is a randomized, open-label, international, multi-center, phase III trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SHR-1210 plus apatinib mesylate versus sorafenib as first-line therapy in patients with advanced HCC.
Patients will be randomized 3 groups: Group 1: Abdominal fascial closure will be performed with Triclosan-coated barbed Polydioxanone suture Group 2:Abdominal fascial closure will be performed with Triclosan-coated monofilament Polydioxanone suture Group 3: Abdominal fascial closure will be performed with monofilament Polydioxanone suture Incisional surgical.site infection and evisceration will be recorded.
Colonoscopy is the gold-standard for the evaluation of the colorectal mucosa. Colonoscopy quality indicators are the adenoma detection rate, the rate of cecal intubation and the bowel preparation. The role of diet in preparing for colonoscopy is not fully established. Currently there is not enough evidence available to choice between 3 days of low residue diet versus 1 day. The research hypothesis is that the low residue diet offers a non-inferior bowel preparation and an improved tolerance.
Clinical trial with medical device, multicenter, single-blind (blind third party evaluation), randomized, comparative and in two paralell groups, to demonstrate the treatment according to usual clinical practice, of the combination of 50 mg Sodium Hyaluronate and 50 mg Chondroitin Sulfate (ENKO 1) in a single administration, has non-inferiority efficacy vs the comparator (Durolane; 60 mg HA crosslinked) in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis after three months of follow-up.
There is preliminary evidence suggesting that referred pain from active trigger points can play a relevant role in individuals with mechanical neck pain. Some studies have investigated the effectiveness of dry needling over the upper trapezius muscle in this population. However, other muscles, such as the scalene muscles, can be also relevant for neck pain symptoms. No study has investigated the effects of the application of dry needling over active trigger points in the scalenes muscles in a sample of patients with mechanical neck pain.
Previous observational studies have reported an association between higher air pollution exposure and lower attention in children. With this project, the investigators aim to confirm this association in adolescents using an experimental design. In addition, the study will assess the relationship between air pollution exposure and individual preferences with respect to risk, time and social considerations. High school students in 3rd grade (ESO, 14-15 years of age) in different high schools in the Barcelona province (Spain) will be invited to participate. For each class in each high school, participating students will be randomly split into two equal-sized groups. Each group will be assigned to a different classroom where they will complete several activities during two hours, including an attention test (Flanker task) and a reduced version of the Global Preferences Survey. One of the classrooms will have an air purifier that will clean the air. The other classroom will have the same device but without the filters, so it will only re-circulate the air without cleaning it. Students will be masked to intervention allocation. The investigators hypothesize that students assigned to the clean air classroom will have better scores in the attention test, and that decision-making will also present differences in the two classrooms.
This study evaluates the effectiveness of an experimental proposal therapy for upper limb lymphedema secondary to breast called Activity-oriented proprioceptive antiedema therapy (TAPA) facing the consensual gold standard treatment, the complete decongestive therapy. TAPA consists in: - Health education / patient empowerment. - Neurodynamic activities oriented to Activities of Daily Living (ADL). - Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises oriented to ADL. - Self-adherent self-adhesive antiedema of low compression. Half of patients will receive TAPA treatment while the other half will receive CDT standard treatment.
This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and biomarker effects of RO7234292 (RG6042) compared with placebo in participants with manifest Huntington's disease (HD)
Primary objective: To demonstrate that tralokinumab in combination with topical corticosteroids (TCS) is superior to placebo in combination with TCS in treating severe AD in subjects who are not adequately controlled with or have contraindications to oral cyclosporine A (CSA). Secondary objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of tralokinumab in combination with TCS on severity and extent of AD, itch, and health-related quality of life compared to placebo in combination with TCS. To evaluate the safety of tralokinumab in combination with TCS when treating severe AD in subjects who are not adequately controlled with or have contraindications to oral CSA compared to placebo in combination with TCS.
