PURPOSE: The study aims to compare study between Botulinum toxin-A injection and shock waves therapy on hypertrophic scars in hand-burned children. BACKGROUND: Burn injuries can cause significant physical and psychological distress, especially when they result in hypertrophic scarring. In children, who are particularly vulnerable to these injuries, it is important to accurately assess the severity of these scars and their impact on functionality. HYPOTHESES: There is no significant difference between the combined effect of the traditional physical therapy program with botulinum toxin-A injection and the traditional physical therapy program with shock waves therapy on improving wrist extension, ulnar deviation, radial deviation, hand grip strength, and severity of the scar on hypertrophic scars in hand-burned children.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common and treatable disease characterized by progressive airflow limitation and tissue destruction. It is associated with structural lung changes due to chronic inflammation from prolonged exposure to noxious particles or gases most commonly cigarette smoke. POWERbreathe device (POWER-breathe International Ltd., Southam, Warwickshire, UK) is an inspiratory muscle training and this device has recently shown benefits on pulmonary function. Also, the POWER-breathe® device's effects on the strength of the diaphragm muscle and minimize muscle weakness and wasting in COPD patients. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is commonly used in physical therapy to increase muscle strength and promote muscle hypertrophy. NMES applied to respiratory rehabilitation is called transcutaneous electrical diaphragmatic stimulation (TEDS).

Rheumatic autoimmune diseases include conditions such as systemic lupus rheumatoid arthritis systemic sclerosis in which connective tissues are frequently targeted. Autoimmune diseases as a group are among the leading causes of death and morbidity in the industrial world and pose an immense socioeconomic burden despite the considerable accumulative burden of these diseases only a small number of multinational registries for a few selected autoimmune diseases have been devised. Numerous autoimmune inflammatory diseases have been associated with various forms of vasculopathy and increase vascular disease risk such as accelerated atherogenesis and thromboembolic events as digital and acral gangrene secondary Raynaud syndrome arterial aneurysm and different cutaneous ulcer. The etiopathogenesis os increased risk of peripheral vascular diseases and presentation in autoimmune diseases is not entirely clear but multiple contibutors have been explored especially in the context of systemic inflammation and disordered thrombogenesis.

Regarding oral cavity cancer, the high incidence of neck metastasis along with its impact on survival and prognosis are in favor of elective neck dissection. Moreover, occult metastases could develop at lower levels in the neck (levels IV-V) Regarding the tongue, the rate of skip (occult) metastasis involving unremoved level IV cervical lymph nodes in squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue ranges from 0 % - 11.4 %. However, no data is available or a correlation between the risk of level IV involvement and the affection of specific tongue subsites or a certain cutoff value of tumor thickness.

Impact of Anterior Cross Bite Treatment on Children's Speech Performance

The goal of this prospective, single-arm clinical trial is to evaluate the speech performance of children with anterior dental crossbite before and after correction. Also, to assess the impact of early interceptive orthodontic treatment in the mixed dentition stage to correct the anterior dental crossbite on the quality of life of children. Fifty children of both sexes aged from 8 to 10 years were enrolled and evaluated using the study's inclusion & exclusion criteria. before beginning interceptive orthodontic treatment, each child underwent full mouth treatment. then, using a removable anterior expansion screw along with posterior bite planes to treat the anterior crossbite. All children were subjected to the Protocol of speech evaluation before appliance insertion and after complete correction of anterior crossbite. Also, the Child Perceptions Questionnaire (CPQ 8-10) in the Brazilian version was used to gauge how the anterior crossbite affected the children's oral health-related quality of life.
