There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Perioperative pain is one of the most significant complaints and problems for patients undergoing major open surgery. Pain after surgery carry an abundance of consequences such as reduced mobilization, reduced nutrition intake, reduced pulmonary capacity and increased risk of complications and length of hospitalization. The literature does not supply much information on short- or longer-term outcomes of pain treatment for emergency surgery. The investigators know that for planned surgery in general around 10-50 percentage suffer from persistent postoperative pain. It is therefore important to follow-up on the longer-term outcomes after the standardized analgesic pain treatment. Based on a predefined patient group called OMEGA (Optimizing Major EMergency Abdominal surgery) the investigators hypothesize that OMEGA patients will present a significant incidence rate of patients with persistent postoperative pain and/or continued opioid/non-opioid usage. Therefore this study is to investigate the incidence of prolonged postoperative pain and opioid/non-opioid consumption in OMEGA patients at 3 month after major emergency abdominal surgery.

The rationale of the ROSY-O study is to continue to provide study treatment for patients who have participated in a parent study with olaparib and who are continuing to derive clinical benefit from treatment at the end of such studies, as judged by the Investigator.
Children with cerebral palsy have an increased risk of hip dislocation, which is a painful and severe complication of cerebral palsy. The 20-years evaluation of the Swedish surveillance programme shows that hip dislocation in children with cerebral palsy can be prevented with regular clinical and radiographic examination and early intervention. We would like to determine the individual risk for hip displacement for Danish children with CP in The Danish Cerebral Palsy Follow-up Program. This could be a valuable clinical tool in deciding on further follow-up and treatment.
The aim is to describe the characteristics of children with cerebral palsy in Denmark. Furthermore, we want to focus on status of the children's hips.
The Danish National Survey of Diet and Physical Activity (DANSDA) 2021-23 is a nationally representative, cross-sectional survey of dietary and physical activity habits of 4-80 year-old Danes, and is carried out at the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark (DTU Food). DANSDA provides high quality, nationally representative data on diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol and weight status in Denmark.
The purpose of the present study is to evaluate cardiotoxicity during re-challenge of a different modality of fluoropyrimidine (primary end-point S-1 and secondary any other fluoropyrimidine) after having perceived cardiotoxicity with a fluoropyrimidine based regimen previously. The patient population is being treated for solid tumors.
SUMMARY Objective To assess the efficacy of Nd:YAG laser treatment on eccrine sweat production in the axillae of persons experiencing excessive axillary hyperhidrosis. Design Randomised, within-person controlled clinical trial. Setting One Dermatology Department, at a University hospital in Denmark, from 2018-20. Participants A total of 10 participants enrolled after signing informed consent from the patients attending the hyperhidrosis clinic. Interventions Participants will receive one Nd:YAG laser-treatment of either left or right axilla. The treated area will be cooled with ice during and after laser treatment. Prior to treatment, patients can use lidocaine-prilocaine 5% cream at the treatment site on an optional basis. Main outcome measures Primary outcome measure will be reduced excessive sweat production (%points) monitored by an iodine-starch test assessed at 1-month follow-up compared to baseline. A 30% reduction in sweat production in the Nd:YAG laser-treatment relative to control, will be considered clinically significant. Key secondary outcome measures include (1) weighing the sweat by gravimetric testing, (2) patient assessment of sweat production on a Hyperhidrosis Disease Severity Scale (HDSS) - also assessed at 1 month from baseline. Safety around the use of Nd:YAG laser-treatment will be monitored by registering pain during treatment on a visual analogue scale, as well as monitoring of adverse events immediately as well as one week after treatment. As for the purpose of further exploratory analyses (both benefits and harms), all outcome measures will be re-collected 24 months after treatment. Timelines and dissemination For the collection of the primary data (i.e. primary endpoint being assessed after 1 month), First Patient First Visit (FPFV) will take place in November 2018 and Last Patient Last Visit (LPLV) will be in March 2019. The investigators plan to present data internationally at e.g. the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology as well as nationally to the Danish Dermatology Society and to the Hyperhidrosis Patient Association. Results will be published in an internationally recognised peer reviewed (biomedical) journal. Autonomic neuropathy is a common complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Symptoms from cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy include, dizziness, orthostatic hypotension and insufficient heart rate and blood pressure (BP) regulation during physical exertion. The degree of cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy is most commonly measured as cardiac autonomic neuropathy based on at least two abnormal cardiac reflex tests, which primarily measures parasympathetic indices of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Few measures are available for quantifying the sympathetic/adrenergic branch of the ANS. Circadian changes in BP is a documented measure of BP variability, regulated centrally by a multitude of centers. A growing number of studies indicate that a diminished BP variability is associated with increased cardiovascular risk and injury. The ANS plays a pivotal role in the execution of these circadian BP changes, mainly through sympathetic adrenergic nerve fibers Few studies have investigated the applicability of 24-hour indices as predictor for autonomic adrenergic dysfunction. No previous studies have investigated the association between clinical markers of adrenergic function, and 24-hour blood pressure indices in type 2 diabetes.
The overall aim is twofold: 1) to stretch the borderline regarding the present knowledge of clinical and economic cost-effectiveness of eHealth as an aid for facilitating and supporting self-management in families with long-term childhood illness, and 2) to develop a sustainable multidisciplinary research environment for advancing, evaluating, and implementing models of eHealth to promote self-management for children and their families. A number of clinical studies are planned for, covering different parts of paediatric healthcare. The concept of child-centred care is essential. Experienced researchers from care science, medicine, economics, technology, and social science will collaborate around common issues. Expertise on IT technology will analyse the preconditions for using IT; economic evaluations will be performed alongside clinical studies; and cultural and implementation perspectives will be used to analyse the challenges that arise from the changes in relations among children, family and professionals, which may occur as a result of the introduction of eHealth. Child health is not only important in itself. Investments in child health may also generate significant future gains, such as improved educational and labour market performance. Six complex, long-term and costly challenges in paediatric healthcare are planned for, involving eHealth technology such as interactive video consultation, pictures, on-line monitoring, and textual communication. The research follows an international framework for developing and evaluating complex interventions in healthcare. End-users (families) and relevant care providers (professionals in health and social care) will participate throughout the research process. The overall aim is certainly to analyse eHealth as an aid for facilitating and supporting self-management. However, the plan also includes the research issue whether eHealth at the same time improves the allocation of scarce health care- and societal resources.
