There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study aims to assess the value of combined treatment with RAD001 and erlotinib in patients with advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer treated only with chemotherapy as systemic therapy.
The purpose of this study is to compare patients with low back pain (LBP) and Modic Changes from The Backcenter Funen, Ringe: 1. To compare the effect of two types of non-operative treatments: A. exercise and advice to be physically active B. restitution and advice not to overload the spine 2. To investigate if the results of the treatment are influenced by gender, age, smoking, and physical load.
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of 2 different doses of modified-release recombinant human thyroid stimulating hormone (MRrhTSH) when administered with radioiodine in patients with multinodular goiter, a condition that involves the enlargement of the thyroid gland. We will also evaluate the safety and effectiveness of radioiodine therapy alone in these patients. The goal of the treatment is to determine if there was a reduction in the size of the goiter and to study if goiter symptoms have improved after 6 months and after 36 months.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether sevoflurane-remifentanil anaesthesia is similar to propofol-remifentanil anaesthesia concerning post- operative nausea and vomiting.
The purpose of this study is to learn whether apixaban prevents the development of blood clots in the leg (deep vein thrombosis) and lung (pulmonary embolism), which sometimes occur after knee replacement surgery, and to compare the efficacy of apixaban with that of enoxaparin (Lovenox®) in the prevention of these clots. The safety of apixaban will also be studied.
This single arm study will assess the safety and efficacy of Avastin combined with platinum-containing chemotherapy regimens in patients with advanced or recurrent non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Avastin will be given as first-line treatment in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy or in combination with any standard of care NSCLC first-line chemotherapy used in line with the licensed national prescribing information. Eligible patients will receive Avastin (15mg/kg iv on day 1 of each 3 week cycle) concomitantly with chemotherapy. Avastin treatment will continue after completion of chemotherapy cycles until disease progression, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerance of SMOFlipid 20% in comparison to a standard lipid emulsion Intralipid 20% in patients requiring long-term parenteral nutrition. The safety and tolerance will be evaluated by biochemistry, hematology and coagulation variables, vital signs and adverse events. Further objectives to evaluate are the influence of SMOFlipid 20% on inflammation processes, the efficacy of anti-oxidative properties of vitamin E supplemented to SMOFlipid 20%, and the fatty acid pattern in red blood cells and serum.
Background: PCOS is a common condition with a prevalence of 5-8 % in premenopausal women. More than 50% of PCOS patients are insulin resistant and have a diabetes risk 5-8 times higher than age- and weight-matched controls. Studies using insulin sensitizers in PCOS found increased insulin sensitivity and decreased insulin levels to be followed by decreased androgen levels and improved ovulatory function. No studies however, evaluated the long term effects of insulin sensitizing treatment. Oral contraceptives normalize menstrual cycles and suppress androgen levels in PCOS, however no long-term studies evaluated the effects of combined treatment with metformin and oral contraceptives in PCOS. Design: Randomized open study in 3*30 PCOS patients. Patients are randomised to 24 months of treatment with 1: metformin, 2: metformin and oral contraceptives or 3: oral contraceptives. Primary outcome measures: fasting insulin, AUC insulin. Secundary endpoints: BMI, WHR, LH, FSH, total and free-testosterone, c-peptid, urinary cortisol, AUC for insulin, glucose and c-peptid during OGTT. Inclusioncriteria: 1. Irregular menses or anovulaty cycles 2. High free testosterone > 0,035 nmol/l or hirsutism 3. PCO in vaginal US Criteria 1 and 2 OR 2 and 3. Design:
A pharmacokinetic study of insulin pump treatment using Insulin Aspart. The study consist of three different periods A, B and C where a constant the insulin infusion rate is given during the periods. In period B and C will the infusion start with a bolus. It will be investigated if a steady state of insulin will be obtained faster in period B and C then A.
The purpose of this study is to asses changes in glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood lipids and genetic polymorphism's in peroxisomal proliferator activated receptors--gamma receptor after 6 months of pioglitazone, once daily (QD), treatment.
