There are about 25560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Germany. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is a multi-center, open label, randomized phase 3b trial to assess the durability of Immunity induced by the Ebolavirus Vaccine VSV-EBOV ( with or without booster vaccination) in individuals at potential occupational risk for ebolavirus exposure
The improvement or preservation of quality of life (QoL) is one of the three pillars of the European Union (EU) Mission on Cancer, which underpins the needs of patients from cancer diagnosis throughout treatment, survivorship, and advanced terminal stages. Clinical studies and real-world data show that the use of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) for QoL assessment in routine oncology practice has positive effects on patient wellbeing and healthcare resource utilization. However, full implementation of PROMs is not yet part of standard of care and is not adequately considered in cancer policies and programs. A comprehensive tool incorporating the perspective of patients at different stages of the disease trajectory and widely applicable across Europe is still lacking. The European Oncology Quality of Life Toolkit (EUonQoL-Kit) is a unified patient-centred tool for the assessment of QoL, developed from preferences and priorities of people with past or current cancer experience. The EUonQoL-Kit includes three electronic questionnaires, specifically designed for different disease phases (patients in active treatment, survivors, and patients in palliative care), available in both static and dynamic (Computer Adaptive Testing, CAT) versions and in several European languages. This is a multicentre observational study, with the following aims: - The primary aim is to perform the psychometric validation of the EUonQoL-Kit. - Secondary aims are to assess its acceptability, to validate the static and dynamic versions against each other, and to provide estimates of QoL across European countries. The EUonQoL-Kit will be administered to a sample of patients from 45 European cancer centres. The sample will include patients in active treatment (group A), survivors (group B), and patients in Palliative Care (group C). Each centre will recruit 100 patients (40 from group A, 30 from group B, 30 from group C), for an overall sample size of 4,500 patients (at least 4,000 patients are assumed to be enrolled, due to an expected lower recruitment rate of 10-15%). Three sub-samples of patients (each corresponding to 10% of the total sample for each centre) will fill in an additional questionnaire: - FACT-G (Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - General) and EQ-5D-5L (5-level European Quality of Life Five Dimension), to test concurrent validity. - Live-CAT version, to validate the static and dynamic versions against each other. - EUonQoL-Kit, at least 1 hour after the first completion, to assess test-retest reliability.
The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the impact of repetitive acute Cyclosporine A (CsA) bolus therapy in patients suffering from TTS with an elevated risk of impaired outcome. The main question it aims to answer is whether CsA reduces myocardial injury (primary outcome). Participants will receive CsA or placebo at baseline and every 12h in the first 24h after study inclusion. Researchers will compare CsA and the placebo group to see if a) myocardial injury is reduced, and b) ejection fraction is improved compared to baseline, as well as several other secondary endpoints over a one year follow-up.
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety, effectiveness, and performance of Venus-Neo Surgical Aortic Valve in subjects who are clinically indicated for aortic valve replacement.
ATTR amyloidosis is a serious condition with significant morbidity and mortality. In Germany, there are numerous unreported cases of untreated patients, and diagnosing and initiating treatment often requires multiple specialized tests. To address this, a study is being conducted to determine if virtual reality (VR)-based patient education can improve diagnosis rates, treatment initiation, and medication adherence compared to standard education methods.
Recombinant factor VIII for the prevention of bleeding in women/girls with haemophilia A undergoing major surgery
Background: Overweight and obesity affect health, quality of life and ability to work. Therefore, the Low-Insulin-Method was developed to support overweight and obese people in weight loss. Method: In a randomized controlled clinical trial, the effect of the lifestyle intervention program 'Low-Insulin-Method', delivered by the Low-Insulin-App including low-carb diet, self monitoring of weight, physical activity and telemedical coaching is examined compared to a control group without coaching. The learning contents are taught in 30 videos and 5 online meetings. The intervention group additionally gets 4 individual care calls. The state of health is examined at the beginning and after 12 weeks. Objective: The aim is to develop a training and counseling program for overweight or obese individuals with diabetes risk or type 2 diabetes, which can be used both for primary and for tertiary prevention of overweight-related diseases.
Motivation of this study Human life is full of chemicals: They support the provision of cure, clothes, shelter, transportation and even nourishment of the world population. But can they also represent a risk for humans? Many of these chemicals can be taken up into the human body. Often, they are transformed and excreted directly, but some chemicals persist over longer time periods or accumulate in living organisms. Since there are many thousands of chemicals in the environment and products humans use on a daily basis, there may be complex mixtures around, and consequently also in the human body. The investigators start a new project at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany. It is called EXPOSO-METER and attempts to make these chemicals measurable in an easy and comparable way, to better characterize this potential hazard. With the valuable contribution of the participants and collaborators, the investigators will be able to describe and compare the situation for similar groups of study participants in Central Europe, North America and Asia. The aim is to characterize the chemicals and see which potential effects their presence may have. In the project, the investigators will also compare human samples to material from the environment, e.g., seal and fox samples, to improve the understanding of the occurrence and fate of chemicals in the environment and in the human body.
The study will aim to find out if the drug andexanet alfa is safe and effective in preventing major bleeding during urgent surgery or invasive procedures. The study will compare the use of andexanet alfa to the usual care given at the study center.
This study aims to investigate the pathophysiology of recurrent pericarditis (RP) by testing for neutralizing autoantibodies against interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) and measuring soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) levels. The hypothesis is that these tests will provide insights into both the inflammatory and non-inflammatory phenotypes of RP, shedding light on the underlying mechanisms. The study will assess the correlation between antibody levels, suPAR levels, and markers of cardiac damage and inflammation. Longitudinal testing during acute episodes and intercritical phases is also planned. The results may guide the use of anakinra, an IL-1 receptor antagonist, in specific clinical scenarios and optimize treatment strategies for RP.
