NCT ID: NCT00237315 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Urea Cycle Disorders

Longitudinal Study of Urea Cycle Disorders

Start date: February 2006
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Urea cycle disorders (UCD) are a group of rare inherited metabolism disorders. Infants and children with UCD commonly experience episodes of vomiting, lethargy, and coma. The purpose of this study is to perform a long-term analysis of a large group of individuals with various UCDs. The study will focus on the natural history, disease progression, treatment, and outcome of individuals with UCD.

NCT ID: NCT00235066 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

The CYPHERâ„¢ Stent Study in Patients With Small de Novo Coronary Artery Lesions.

SVELTE
Start date: November 2002
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The main objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the CYPHERâ„¢ (sirolimus-eluting) stent in reducing in-lesion late lumen loss in de novo native coronary artery lesions in small vessels (2.25 - 2.75 mm) as compared to the small vessel tercile of the uncoated Bx VELOCITYTM Stent patients from the SIRIUS Trial, using a stenting technique that minimizes balloon trauma to the vessel and assures full coverage of the lesion with the stent.

NCT ID: NCT00234208 Terminated - Pleural Empyema Clinical Trials

Early Medical Thoracoscopy Versus Simple Chest Tube Drainage in Complicated Parapneumonic Effusion and Pleural Empyema

Start date: October 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Multicenter, randomized controlled study to compare early mini-invasive thoracoscopy to simple chest tube drainage in complicated parapneumonic effusions or pleural empyema. 100 patients will be recruited. Follow-up will be 3 months. It will be looked at the rate medical cure, the need for secondary interventions, death and duration of hospital stay. In a nested trial in 20 patients the intrapleural pharmacokinetics of linezolid (approved antibiotic agent) will be measured.

NCT ID: NCT00234026 Completed - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed, Relapsed, or Chemotherapy-Resistant Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Start date: June 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well gemcitabine works in treating patients with newly diagnosed, relapsed, or chemotherapy-resistant mantle cell lymphoma.

NCT ID: NCT00233662 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Plaque Psoriasis

Safety and Tolerability of Repeat Courses of IM Alefacept

Start date: December 1, 2002
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether repeat courses of alefacept, administered intramuscularly, are safe when given to chronic plaque psoriasis patients who are receiving standard dermatology treatments.

NCT ID: NCT00233441 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Placebo Controlled Double-blind Dose Ranging Study of the Efficacy and Safety of SSR149744C 50, 100, 200 or 300 mg OD With Amiodarone as Calibrator for the Maintenance of Sinus Rhythm in Patients With Recent Atrial Fibrillation/Flutter

MAIA
Start date: December 2004
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Double blind study to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of SSR149744C and select a dose to be further investigated in the maintenance of sinus rhythm after electrical, pharmacological or spontaneous conversion of AF/AFL.

NCT ID: NCT00232297 Completed - Arrhythmia Clinical Trials

Double Blind Placebo Controlled Dose Ranging Study of the Efficacy and Safety of SSR149744c 100 or 300 mg for the Prevention of ventrICular ARrhythmia-triggered Icd interventiOnS

ICARIOS
Start date: June 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Primary objective: - to assess the efficacy of SSR149744C for the prevention of ventricular arrhythmia-triggered ICD interventions. Secondary objectives: - to assess versus placebo the tolerability of the different dose regimens of SSR149744C in the selected population. - to document SSR149744C plasma level during the study.

NCT ID: NCT00231686 Completed - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

Effects of a 6-Months Physical Conditioning Program in Patients With Cystic Fibrosis

Start date: November 2000
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this randomized, controlled trial was to determine whether a (and if so which) physical conditioning program is effective to improve health status, physical activity, and quality of life in patients with cystic fibrosis. A positive effect of physical conditioning was expected.
