NCT ID: NCT04010383 Completed - Visual Field Tests Clinical Trials

Non-inferiority Study for Visual Field Measurements Using a Virtual Reality Device

Start date: August 2, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

It is hypothesized that performing VF measurements with a Virtual Reality headset using similar testing strategies as implemented in conventional perimeters, allow for a non-inferior quality in VF acquisitions. The results of this study will show if valid measurements of such devices in human subjects can be obtained. The primary endpoint of this study is the non-inferiority estimation quality of participant's mean defect (MD) measured in decibel (dB) between the head-mounted display and an OCTOPUS perimeter using the dynamic strategy (DS) for participants with normal or glaucomatous visual field. The MD is a clinical measure for the average loss of visual function calculated from the visual field of a participant.

NCT ID: NCT04008940 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Distal Femur Fracture

Locking Plates for Distal Femur Fractures - a Multicenter Case Review

VA_LCP
Start date: January 2012
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In order to assess the rate and mode of failure cases observed in patients with distal femur fractures treated with a distal femur plates, anonymized radiographs from those patients will be collected retrospectively. All available images will reviewed by an expert review board in regards to fracture classification, implant and surgery details, quality of initial reduction and plate positioning as well as the occurrence of mechanical complications and the outcome in terms of fracture healing (if available). Additionally, age and gender as basic demographical data will be collected in a de-identified way..

NCT ID: NCT04008446 Completed - Bacteremia Clinical Trials

Effect of Vitamin B12 on the Development of Sepsis, in Culture Positive Patients

Vit B12
Start date: June 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is an prospective observational study assessing the effect of vitamin B12 on the odds of developing sepsis in patients with infection confirmed by a positive culture result. The hypothesis is that patients with infection confirmed by positive cultures who develop sepsis have lower vitamin B12 levels than patients infection, confirmed by positive cultures, who do not develop sepsis.

NCT ID: NCT04008160 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

Intelligent Underwear (IU) in Paraplegics

ProTex
Start date: October 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Pressure injuries are a major problem in patients with no or limited mobility and sensation such as paraplegics. Changes in skin physiology like changes in skin perfusion, oxygenation and humidity may explain and help to detect pressure injury development earlier. Thus, these parameters may be used for continuous monitoring of skin health. So far, there is no measuring technology available which would allow to measure continuously and quantitatively the physiological parameters, which are essential in the development of pressure injuries, over a long period of time in the clinical setting. The goal of this pilot study is to test whether this wearable technology can be used for measurements of skin parameter and whether temperature, pressure, humidity, perfusion, and oxygenation can be measured safely and accurately. 10 healthy individuals and 10 individuals with spinal cord will be enrolled for measurements with this newly developed device over the ischium for 30 minutes. The reproducibility of the measurements will be investigated.

NCT ID: NCT04008147 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Gestational Diabetes

Hepcidin and Glucose Metabolism

Start date: July 3, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), defined as hyperglycemia with blood glucose values above normal but below those diagnostic of DM, and iron deficiency (ID) with or without anemia (IDA) are common during pregnancy. Both disease patterns are associated with an increased risk of complications during pregnancy and at delivery and may have a variety of negative effects on different aspects of child development. Thus, GDM and ID/IDA during pregnancy should be prevented. Whether iron supplementation with high oral doses acutely increases hepcidin during pregnancy, and whether this acute iron-induced increase in hepcidin decreases insulin sensitivity, is uncertain.

NCT ID: NCT04005352 Completed - Clinical trials for Age-related Macular Degeneration

Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Brolucizumab 6mg Compared to Aflibercept 2 mg in a Treat-to-control Regimen (TALON)

TALON
Start date: September 25, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This was a 64-week randomized, double-masked, multi-center, active-controlled, two-arm study in patients with neovascular age related macular degeneration (nAMD) who have not previously received anti- vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) treatment.

NCT ID: NCT04003753 Completed - Fear of Heights Clinical Trials

Efficacy of a VR Paradigm to Reduce Fear of Heights in a Clinical and Subclinical Population With Fear of Heights

VRAP-Basel
Start date: October 16, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Investigation of the effectiveness and acceptability and usability of a VR height exposure App in individuals with fear of heights.

NCT ID: NCT04002570 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Adjuvant Radiotherapy on Circulating Cells in Breast Cancer Patients

CCB-RT
Start date: October 25, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Radiation applied to the preserved breast during radiotherapy treatment activates numerous molecular cascades in tumor bed adjacent cells causing an inflammatory state. During this process, pre-clinical studies demonstrated CD11b + and CD11b+cKit+cells mobilization in the blood. These cells are involved in numerous processes during tumor progression/control and metastases development. The expected results in clinical setting allow us to investigate the development of innovative therapeutic and monitoring strategies. The clinical repercussions would consist in identifying new predictive and prognostic targets in breast cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04000906 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Peritoneal Carcinomatosis

Start date: November 11, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Phase Ib trial including investigating the combination of nab-paclitaxel and cisplatin in patients diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis related to pancreatic, oeso-gastric, ovarian cancer or primitive peritoneal mesothelioma.
