There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The main purpose of this study was to assess the progression-free survival (PFS) based on local investigator assessment of pazopanib in participants with advanced and/or metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) following prior treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI).
This is a prospective, open label, multicenter, non-inferiority within-patient study to determine the effectiveness of IC2000 (Indocyanine Green (ICG) for Injection) and the SPY Portable Handheld Imaging System (SPY-PHI) as an intraoperative fluorescence visualization tool, in the visual identification of lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes (LNs) during lymphatic mapping and sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) procedures as confirmed by Technitium99m (Tc99m) and Gamma Probe.
Protein is the key determinant of growth and bodily functions. The quality of food proteins depend on their amino acid content and the amount of amino acids used by the body to make proteins. Globally Cereal Grains (CG) provide 50% of the calories and protein in the diet and exceed 80% in poorer developing countries. In many of those countries, wheat is the major cereal grain in the diet. The protein in wheat is low in the essential amino acid lysine. Hence wheat protein is of low quality. Low lysine affects protein synthesis in the body. Cooking methods also affect the lysine available from foods to the body. The protein can be complemented by the addition of lentils to augment the low lysine content. However, lentils are prohibitively expensive in some developing countries. As the human population increases, the world faces the continuous challenge of maximizing a limited food supply. Protein quality (PQ) evaluation of wheat directly in humans would allow us to bridge the gap in knowledge between what is required and how best to provide. The information gathered from this project will provide the first direct experimental data on PQ of wheat protein in humans on which nutrition recommendations can be built.
This is a prospective, interventional, multi-center trial to report the overall incidence of reduced leaflet motion identified by CT imaging in patients receiving a commercially approved LivaNova bioprosthetic aortic heart valve up to 1 year post implant.
This will be a prospective single-blinded, randomized, controlled trial comparing the effectiveness and safety of transseptal puncture using the Baylis transseptal system to transseptal left atrial access with standard transseptal equipment (usual care) in patients undergoing catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation with the cryoballoon system. The targeted population will consist of patients with symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation undergoing pulmonary vein isolation with the cryoballoon system.
The primary objective of this study is to determine if there will be a greater mean reduction from baseline in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) achieved after 26 weeks of oral double-blind add-on therapy of dapagliflozin or saxagliptin compared to placebo in paediatric T2DM patients with HbA1c levels of 6.5 to 10.5% on diet and exercise and metformin, insulin, or metformin plus insulin.
The purpose of this study is to assess feasibility, safety and preliminary efficacy of Brentuximab vedotin (Adcetris), a CD30-directed antibody-drug conjugate, in the treatment of active diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis (dcSSc).
Primary Objective: To evaluate any potential increase in the risk of major birth defects, in the first year of life, in teriflunomide-exposed pregnancies. Secondary Objective: To evaluate the potential effect of teriflunomide-exposure on other adverse pregnancy outcomes including any potential pattern of minor birth defects, spontaneous abortion, stillbirth, preterm delivery, small for gestational age at birth and at 1 year follow-up.
This is a global Phase III, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant treatment with atezolizumab (anti-programmed death-ligand 1 [anti-PD-L1] antibody) and nab-paclitaxel followed by doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide (nab-pac-AC), or placebo and nab-pac-AC in participants eligible for surgery with initial clinically assessed triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
This leucine-enriched protein gummy (as a gummy bar/slab) will be studied to address age-related loss of muscle mass and strength/function in older persons. The product is small volume (approximately 35 g per serve) and low energy (approximately 100 kcal per serve). It is easy to chew and swallow with the consistency of a firm Jello. In addition, it contains an effective dose of leucine in a high-quality protein matrix consisting of milk proteins. Understanding the efficacy of this product on changes in levels of blood amino acids and the molecular signaling required to enhance muscle growth will provide helpful insight for the suggestion of supplemental use.
