There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This 48 week, phase 2b study in 150 HIV-1 infected antiretroviral therapy experienced adult subjects consists of a dose-ranging evaluation of GSK2248761 at blinded doses of 100 mg and 200 mg once daily with a control arm of open-label etravirine (ETV) 200 mg twice daily. The background ART for all three arms will be darunavir/ritonavir (DRV/r) 600 mg/100 mg twice daily plus raltegravir (RAL) 400 mg twice daily. Antiviral activity, safety, PK, and development of viral resistance will be evaluated.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of long-term treatment with brodalumab in adults with Crohn's disease.
Primary Objective: - Evaluate the effect of dronedarone versus placebo (standard therapy) in slowing the progression of adverse left atrial remodeling in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) following 12 months of treatment. Secondary Objectives: - Evaluate the effects of dronedarone versus placebo on left atrial function; - Evaluate the effects of dronedarone versus placebo on left atrial dimension; - Evaluate the effects of dronedarone versus placebo on left ventricular function (LVEF, E, E', A, E/E') - Evaluate the safety and tolerability of dronedarone.
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy, safety and tolerability of JNJ-32729463 compared to moxifloxacin for the treatment of subjects requiring hospitalization for Community-Acquired Bacterial Pneumonia (CABP).
Treatment with liver cell infusion for children with urea cycle disorders (UCD).
CV185-079 is a multiple dose Apixaban Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) study in pediatric subjects. The objective of this study is primarily to study the PK/PD of Apixaban in pediatric subjects with a central venous catheter.
REMICADE (infliximab) is a drug used to treat active Crohn's disease and is being tested in an experiment to see if it may be useful in preventing relapse of Crohn's disease after surgical resection. This study will compare the effects (both good and bad) of REMICADE (infliximab) to those of placebo. Placebo looks like the drug being studied but has no active ingredients.
This study was designed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of 20µg/kg/week of Interleukin-7 (CYT107), the biological activity and safety of repeated cycles of CYT107, for a maximum of 4 cycles within 21 months and a maximum of 3 cycles within 12 months.
This is a study to compare the efficacy and tolerability of two laxatives for treatment of opioid-induced constipation in adult outpatients with cancer treated at the British Columbia Cancer Pain and Symptom Management/Palliative Care clinics. Each participating patient will be randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups.
The investigators propose to conduct a, two armed, randomized, controlled pilot study to assess the clinical effects of a) open incision, drainage with daily packing changes, compared to b) Ultrasound guided needle aspiration, in drainage of uncomplicated cutaneous abscesses below the skin surface of adult emergency department patients using concealed allocation in evaluating patient satisfaction.
