There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this study is to examine effects on mental and physical health and quality of life in primary care patients visiting the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), this visit being prescribed by their physician. To visit the MMFA and to complete after this visit a series of self-administered questionnaires within the two days after their visit at the museum
The aim of the study is to generate real-world evidence on the effectiveness, safety and additional parameters of low dose methoxyflurane (PENTHROX®) in: aesthetic surgeries (eg. hair transplant, upper blepharoplasty, otoplasty, upper brow lift, and mentoplasty) and facial filler injections [eg. hyaluronic acid (HA) and Sculptra®] in an outpatient aesthetic practice. This will be an open-label study, with a total of 60 patients undergoing a planned outpatient aesthetic surgery or filler injection (30 patients in each group).
Two of the most effective lifestyle-based approaches to reduce the risk of adverse health events and enhance quality of life with aging are exercise and a healthy diet. Currently, the Canadian recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for protein is 0.8 g/kg/day, however, several expert groups have advocated for a higher RDA of protein (~1.2 g/kg/day), along with more evenly distributed daily consumption, in older persons. Eggs are considered a nutrient-rich protein source but have recently been scrutinized. This study will compare a high-protein, egg-containing diet and a high-protein, non-egg diet in healthy older persons.
This is a phase II, single center, open label, multi-cohort platform study to identify a signature in tumor tissues, blood or stool that might help identify participants who are more likely to experience tumor shrinkage or side effects from the combination of the study drugs durvalumab and oleclumab. In addition, this study will see if participants with certain types of advanced cancer benefit from the experimental drug combination of durvalumab and oleclumab, will evaluate the safety and tolerability of durvalumab and oleclumab, and to understand the effects that durvalumab and oleclumab have at a molecular level in tumor cells and their effects on the immune system. This study will look at subjects with locally advanced or recurrent/metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), non-small-cell carcinoma (NSCLC) and squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck (SCCHN). Within each cancer type, 40 patients will be enrolled (for a total of 120 patients on study): 20 patients will be enrolled with locally advanced disease ("window") and treated with durvalumab 1500 mg given by IV x 1 dose and oleclumab 3000 mg x 2 doses every 2 weeks prior to definitive therapy (e.g. surgery), and 20 patients will be enrolled with recurrent/metastatic ("metastatic") disease and treated with durvalumab 1500 mg given by IV every 4 weeks and oleclumab 3000 mg given by IV every 2 weeks x 4 doses then IV every 4 weeks till disease progression, toxicity, withdrawal of subject consent, or another discontinuation reason. For locally advanced PDAC patients, approximately 10 of the 20 subjects may receive 6-8 cycles of modified FOLFIRINOX (mFFX) prior to the administration of durvalumab and oleclumab.
This is a Phase II, prospective, non-randomized, open-label trial involving cancer patients with known inflamed tumor types. Patients with previously treated advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer or renal cell cancer will be recruited in near equal distribution. All patients must have documented response or prolonged stable disease to previous immunotherapy. At present, we plan to enrol 55 patients, to be treated with durvalumab and oleclumab. The regimen will consist of durvalumab 1500 mg given by vein every 4 weeks and oleclumab 3000 mg given by vein every 2 weeks x 4 doses then IV every 4 weeks till disease progression, withdrawal of subject consent, or another reason for discontinuation. Estimated total duration from time to first subjects consent to last subject's last visit is approximately 36 months.
This is a phase 2A multi-centre, open label, pilot study of pembrolizumab added to the standard first-line therapy of cyclophosphamide, bortezomib and dexamethasone (CyBorD) in newly diagnosed patients with multiple myeloma that are not eligible for autologous stem cell transplantation.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of neurofeedback training on measures of cognitive control and alcohol motivation among young adults who drink alcohol on a regular basis. Neurofeedback is a cognitive training technique that uses portable electroencephalography (EEG) technology to adjust brain activity through immediate sensory feedback. This study is using a type of EEG device called a MuseTM headset that monitors ongoing brain activity and synchronizes this information with a mindfulness training app on a mobile device. This study is a pilot study to examine the feasibility and effects of neurofeedback training in a sample of young adults. Future studies may use similar protocols with people who have substance use disorders or other mental health disorders.
To investigate the effectiveness and tolerability of a second maintenance treatment in participants with platinum-sensitivity relapsed (PSR) epithelial ovarian cancer, who have previously received PARPi maintenance treatment and who have benefit (complete response [CR] or partial response [PR]) or stable disease (SD) from further platinum based chemotherapy.
BB-OPMD-202 is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of IV trehalose for treatment of OPMD. The study includes a 4-week screening period, a 24-week blinded treatment period during which patients will receive weekly infusions of trehalose or placebo, followed by a 24-week open-label extension period during which all patients will receive weekly infusions of trehalose. Patients will undergo a safety follow-up assessment 4 weeks after their last treatment.
This Study evaluates the effectiveness of Hypertonic Saline Bath in reducing the Cancer nodules' size, number and SUVmax.
