Study Evaluating Changes In Mammographic Breast Density

The objective of the study is to evaluate quantitative changes in mammographic breast density from baseline to 24 months in postmenopausal women receiving daily doses of either BZA 20 mg/CE 0.45 mg, BZA 20 mg/CE 0.625 mg, Raloxifene or placebo. The primary endpoint in this study is the change in mammographic breast density between baseline and month 24 for each group.

A Study to Assess All-Cause Mortality and Cardiovascular Morbidity in Participants With Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) on Dialysis and Those Not on Renal Replacement Therapy Receiving Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol-Epoetin Beta (Mircera) or Reference Erythropoietin Stimulating Agents (ESAs)

This 2 arm safety study will compare the outcome with respect to a composite endpoint of all-cause mortality and non-fatal cardiovascular events (myocardial infarction, stroke) in CKD participants either on dialysis or not receiving renal replacement therapy under treatment with methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta or reference ESAs. Participants will be randomized to receive intravenous (iv) or subcutaneous (sc) methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta at the following doses: for participants not already receiving ESA treatment, methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta will be administered at a starting dose of 0.6 micrograms per kilograms every 2 weeks (mcg/kg/2wks) iv or sc; for participants receiving maintenance ESA treatment, iv or sc methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta will be administered at an initial monthly dose of 120, 200 or 360 micrograms (mcg) depending on the weekly dose of ESA received prior to first methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta administration. Participants randomized to reference ESA treatment will receive iv or sc ESAs in accordance with their prescribed dosing information.

This is a pharmacokinetic, descriptive, open-label, prospective, multicentric, national study in Aids and tuberculosis co-infected patients, to be laboratory and clinically monitored during the treatment with lopinavir-ritonavir and rifampin medications. Study population: Thirty patients older than 18 years, both male and female, which present active tuberculosis and failure or contraindication for any motive to an efavirenz will be selected to participate in the study. Objectives: - Evaluate the pharmacokinetics of lopinavir-800mg / ritonavir-200mg combination (every 12 h) in association with rifampin-containing anti-tuberculosis regimens, in patients presenting tuberculosis and HIV-infected with indication to antiretroviral treatment according to Brazilian Ministry of Health's guidelines, with contraindication to the use of NNTRI. - Describe the adverse events observed during the tuberculosis treatment period with rifampin associated with antiretroviral therapy consisting of lopinavir-800mg / ritonavir-200mg every 12 hours. - Describe clinical, immunological and virological endpoints throughout the study with these drugs.

Energy Expenditure Assessment of Premature Infants

The goal of this study is verify if the energy expenditure in preterm infant fed with human milk is different from preterm formula. A randomized, controlled, crossover, double blind clinical trial will be carried out in which the newborn will be its own control. Randomization will be according to the type of diet at the beginning of the study. Half of the participants will be randomly assigned to begin the study using one type of milk (for example, human milk) and later another type of milk (preterm infant formula) and the other half will do the opposite.
