There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of the study is to assess the efficacy and safety of BAY1841788 (darolutamide (ODM-201)) in combination with standard androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and docetaxel in patients with metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer.
This is an event driven Phase 3, prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded endpoint evaluation (PROBE) parallel group study in subjects with confirmed VTE. This study is designed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of edoxaban and to compare the efficacy and safety of edoxaban against standard of care in pediatric subjects with confirmed VTE.
The pain is very common complaint, and the neck is one of the most affected spots, mainly due to muscle contracture of the cervical and scapular region, triggered by emotional stress associated with muscle retraction involved resulting from postoperative scarring or post-radiotherapy.O fear fibrosis move the limb and inactivity postoperative lead to gradual impairment of muscle strength and flexibility, and loss of ADM, which also predisposes to the appearance of pain. Goals Study the effectiveness of acupuncture in rehabilitation of physical and functional disorders of women undergoing surgery for breast cancer. 1. Presence of pain by Visual Analog Scale of Pain (VAS). 2. Shoulder Range of Motion (ROM) by active goniometry of flexion movements, extension, adduction, abduction, internal rotation and external rotation 3. lymphedema presence through top member perimetry. 4. upper limb function through the DASH questionnaire. 5. Depressive symptoms through BECK questionnaire. 6. Quality of life through the EORTC questionnaire. 7. Muscle strength of flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, internal rotation and shoulder external rotation with the Hand Held Dynamometer 01,163 model of Lafayette Instrument Company. Patients will be divided into three randomized groups with 30 patients per group, who will receive weekly treatment for 10 weeks, and the group I treated with standard therapeutic exercise, pre-defined, based on stretching the neck muscles, shoulder girdle and exercises for ADM upper limb lasting 30 minutes; group II is treated com30 minutes classical acupuncture using pre-defined spots, and finally, grupoIII be used in the same acupuncture points of the group II, but using the Stiper® in place of the needles. If the patients in groups II and III still of pain at the end of 10 sessions will be treated complementarily with kinesiotherapy.
Physical activity level is an important determinant of quality of life in persons post-stroke. There is a lack of knowledge regarding the effects of aerobic training on physical activity levels in subjects post-stroke. Therefore, the primary objective will be to investigate the effects of aerobic treadmill training on physical activity levels and sedentary behavior in subjects post-stroke. The secondary aim will be to investigate the effects of the training on cardiorespiratory fitness, endurance, depression, mobility, quality of life, and participation. A randomized controlled trial with blinded assessment will assign eligible participants to either: 1) aerobic treadmill training (experimental group, at 60-80% of heart rate reserve), or 2) overground walking (control group, below 40% of heart rate reserve). Both groups will receive 40-minute training sessions three times/week over 12-weeks, in groups of 2-4 participants, by a trained physiotherapist. Primary outcomes: physical activity levels and sedentary behavior (Multisensor SenseWear Mini® and Human Activity Profile). Secondary outcomes: cardiorespiratory fitness (peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) and ventilatory threshold), endurance, depression, mobility, quality of life, and participation. The effects of the trainings will be analyzed from the collected data and intention-to-treat analysis. Between-groups differences will be measured by two-way ANOVA with repeated measures considering the baseline, post-training, and a 4-week follow-up. The results of this trial will likely provide valuable new information about the effects of aerobic treadmill training in improving physical activity levels and sedentary behavior, through changes in cardiorespiratory fitness, for individuals following stroke.
A minimum of 23 people aged 60 years and older, of both sexes, from an informatics course for beginners will participate in the study. The evaluation will consist mainly in answering two validated questionnaires on socialization, the short Social and Emotional Loneliness Scale for Adults (SELSA-S) and short-form UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS-6). Reaction time and performance will also be measured by three virtual reality games, namely Reaction Time, Random and Moviletrando. All this evaluation will be repeated in three moments: T0 - at baseline; T1 - after 8 conventional informatics classes and; T2 - after 8 informatics classes which includes 15 minutes for practicing virtual reality games.
Open label study to evaluate tafamidis for the treatment of transthyretin cardiomyopathy
The main objective of this trial is to investigate the effects of foot muscle strengthening in daily activity of patients with diabetic neuropathy.
This is a randomized study to evaluate the efficacy and safety neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy with goserelin and abiraterone with or without apalutamide prior to radical prostatectomy for patients diagnosed with localized high-risk prostate cancer.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of using a night orthosis for II and III or fingers of the dominant hand in women diagnosed with symptomatic osteoarthritis compared to a control group.
Mate or yerba-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A.St.-Hil.) is a native plant from South America highly consumed in this region. Different traditional products (mate, mate tea, chimarrao, tereré) are obtained from the yerba-mate leaves and consumed as herbal tea. Mate is a rich source of bioactive phenolic compounds, mainly caffeoylquinic acids. The richness of different mono- and dicaffeoylquinic acids is a peculiarity of mate derived products. However, in contrast to other plant-based beverages rich in polyphenols like tea or coffee, the research and the industry have yet little explored the potential interest of mate product to promote human health. There has been a growing interest to the development of healthier foods to face the burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), especially those naturally rich in bioactive phenolic compounds with protective effects against the development of chronic diseases. Different in vitro and animals studies associate the mate consumption with cardiovascular protection mechanisms. Consistent information about this activity and the long-term consumption effects in humans are scarce. The aim of this study is to assess through a randomized controlled trial the impact of chronic intake of mate on intermediate biomarkers of cardiovascular health in humans and to identify possible involved nutrigenomic mechanisms.
