There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of bariatric surgery on the pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin. Methods: This study was performed as a randomized, open-label, single-dose clinical trial, with two periods of treatment, in which obese subjects (n=8) received amoxicillin 500 mg capsule orally before and 2 months after the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery. The amoxicillin plasma concentration was determined by liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
The purpose of this study is to determine whether amitryptyline is effective in the prevention of pain in women after a total abdominal hysterectomy.
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of a FDC of imipenem/cilastatin (IMI) and relebactam (REL) [IMI/REL, MK-7655A] compared to piperacillin/tazobactam (PIP/TAZ) in the treatment of adults diagnosed with Hospital-Acquired Bacterial Pneumonia (HABP) or Ventilator-Associated Bacterial Pneumonia (VABP). The primary hypothesis is that IMI/REL is non-inferior to PIP/TAZ as measured by the incidence rate of all-cause mortality through Day 28 post-randomization.
The purpose of this case series will be to provide a detailed description of a standardized short-term cryotherapy application protocol using validated functional outcome measures in individuals with end stage KOA
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Saturno II association on the control of ocular inflammation post-phacoemulsification
The purpose of this study was to establish safety and efficacy of ligelizumab in adolescent and adult subjects with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) who remain symptomatic despite standard of care treatment by demonstrating better efficacy over omalizumab and over placebo. The study population consisted of 1,072 male and female subjects aged ≥ 12 years who were diagnosed with CSU and who remained symptomatic despite the use of H1-antihistamines. This was a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, active- and placebo-controlled, parallel-group study. There was a screening period of up to 28 days, a 52 week double-blind treatment period, and a 12 week post-treatment follow-up period.
The purpose of this study was to establish efficacy and safety of ligelizumab in adolescent and adult subjects with CSU who remained symptomatic despite standard of care treatment by demonstrating better efficacy over omalizumab and over placebo. The study population consisted of 1,079 male and female subjects aged ≥ 12 years who were diagnosed with CSU and who remained symptomatic despite the use of H1-antihistamines. This was a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, active- and placebo-controlled, parallel-group study. There was a screening period of up to 28 days, a 52 week double-blind treatment period, and a 12 week post-treatment follow-up period.
This is a Phase 2b randomized, blinded, placebo controlled study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, PK/pharmacodynamic, and immunogenicity of repeat doses of MEDI6012 in adult participants presenting with acute STEMI (ST segment elevation myocardial infarction). The study will enrol participants presenting with acute STEMI who are planned for primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). For all participants, an end of study CMR will be performed at 10-12 weeks (70-84 days following Dose 1). A subset of participants will also undergo an index and an end of study CTA.
Cancer is an extremely aggressive disease, anxiety and depression are consequences some patients may develop from diagnosis continuing during treatment. A measures control of the cancer is surgery for removal tumor. The surgical procedure is often a difficult experience for patients and their relatives, and patients in the preoperative period are often psychological symptoms of anxiety and depression. A previous study with the objective analyzing patient's emotional repercussion according the type of transport to the surgical center reached the following result: patients who go to the surgical center feel more relaxed in the preoperative period. The primary objective is to analyze emotional repercussion of patient diagnosed with cancer classified in Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Performance Status 0 and 1 according type transport to the surgical center.
The researchers are doing the study to see if semaglutide may reduce the risk of having cardiovascular events in patients with overweight or obesity and with prior cardiovascular disease. The participant will either get semaglutide (active medicine) or placebo ("dummy" medicine). Which treatment the participants get is decided by chance. The participant's chance of getting semaglutide or placebo is the same. The participant will get the study medicine in a pen. The participants will need to use the pen to inject the study medicine in a skinfold once a week. The study will last for about 2.5 to 5 years. Participants will have up to 25 clinic visits with the study doctor.
