NCT ID: NCT00080301 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Novel Epothilone Plus Capecitabine Versus Capecitabine Alone in Patients With Advanced Breast Cancer

Start date: September 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if BMS-247550 added to the approved therapy of capecitabine is better than capecitabine alone in shrinking or slowing the growth of the cancer in women with metastatic breast cancer who are resistant to taxane and received anthracycline chemotherapy. The safety of this treatment will also be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00079261 Completed - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisone With or Without Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Aggressive Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Start date: January 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone, and gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying giving combination chemotherapy together with gemcitabine to see how well it works compared to giving combination chemotherapy alone in treating patients with previously untreated aggressive stage II, stage III, or stage IV non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

NCT ID: NCT00078832 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Anastrozole in Preventing Breast Cancer in Postmenopausal Women at Increased Risk of Breast Cancer

IBIS II
Start date: September 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development of cancer. Anastrozole may be effective in preventing breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well anastrozole works in preventing breast cancer in postmenopausal women who are at increased risk for the disease.

NCT ID: NCT00077792 Completed - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

Enoxaparin and Thrombolysis Reperfusion for Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction - Study 25 (ExTRACT-TIMI25)

Start date: October 2002
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of the study is to determine whether enoxaparin compared to unfractionated heparin will reduce the composite endpoint of all-cause mortality and non-fatal myocardial re-infarction within 30 days after randomization in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction who are eligible to receive fibrinolytic therapy

NCT ID: NCT00077766 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

A Study of Intravenous Mircera for the Treatment of Anemia in Dialysis Patients.

Start date: March 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will assess the efficacy and safety of intravenous (iv) Mircera given as maintenance treatment for renal anemia in chronic kidney disease patients on dialysis who were previously receiving iv darbepoetin alfa. The anticipated time on study treatment is 1-2 years and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00077753 Completed - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolism

EXCLAIM:Extended Prophylaxis for Venous ThromboEmbolism (VTE) in Acutely Ill Medical Patients With Prolonged Immobilization

Start date: February 2002
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Primary objective: - To demonstrate the superiority of extended VTE prophylaxis with enoxaparin 40mg sc qd for 28 ± 4 days, compared to placebo, both following 10 ± 4 days of initial treatment with enoxaparin 40mg sc qd Secondary objectives: - To assess the reduction in mortality rate at the end of the double-blind treatment period, at 3 (90 ± 10 days) and at 6 (180 ± 10 days) months from the time of entry to the study, in patients on extended prophylaxis - To assess the incidence of VTE at 3 months (90 ± 10 days) from the time of randomization to the study - To evaluate the safety of extended enoxaparin VTE prophylaxis in acutely ill medical patients with prolonged immobilization. Safety evaluation includes: - Major and minor hemorrhage - Heparin induced thrombocytopenia - Serious adverse events - To assess differences in levels of health-care utilization and cost between patients receiving extended VTE prophylaxis versus those receiving placebo.

NCT ID: NCT00077623 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

A Study of Subcutaneous Mircera for the Treatment of Anemia in Dialysis Patients.

Start date: March 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will assess the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous (sc) Mircera given as maintenance treatment for renal anemia in chronic kidney disease patients on dialysis who were previously receiving sc epoetin. The anticipated time on study treatment is 1-2 years and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00077116 Completed - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Idarubicin, Cytarabine, and Gemtuzumab Ozogamicin in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated High-Risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome or Acute Myeloid Leukemia Secondary to Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Start date: November 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as idarubicin and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Monoclonal antibodies, such as gemtuzumab ozogamicin, can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Giving monoclonal antibody therapy together with chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells. Giving healthy stem cells from a donor whose blood closely resembles the patient's blood will help the patient's bone marrow make new stem cells that become red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving idarubicin and cytarabine together with gemtuzumab ozogamicin works in treating patients with previously untreated high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia secondary to myelodysplastic syndrome.

NCT ID: NCT00076388 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-Small-Cell Lung Carcinoma

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of ZD1839 or docetaxel in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has recurred or progressed after receiving prior treatment with platinum-based chemotherapy.
