NCT ID: NCT00249873 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Atrial Fibrillation Clopidogrel Trial With Irbesartan for Prevention of Vascular Events (ACTIVE A)

Start date: June 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if the combination of clopidogrel 75mg once daily (od) plus aspirin 100mg daily (recommended dose) is better than aspirin alone (100mg daily recommended dose) for preventing vascular events such as stroke and heart attack during approximately three years of follow-up in patients with atrial fibrillation associated with at least one major risk factor of vascular event such as elderly, blood pressure increase, history of stroke or transient ischemic attack or left ventricular dysfunction etc. The study will also accept patients with atrial fibrillation and unwilling to take oral anticoagulant therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00249795 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Atrial Fibrillation Clopidogrel Trial With Irbesartan for Prevention of Vascular Events (ACTIVE I)

ACTIVE I
Start date: June 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to determine if Irbesartan compared to Placebo would reduce the risk of vascular events such as heart attack, stroke, non-cerebral thromboembolic event and death in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and with at least one major risk of vascular events.

NCT ID: NCT00248170 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Comparison Trial of Letrozole to Anastrozole in the Adjuvant Treatment of Postmenopausal Women With Hormone Receptor and Node Positive Breast Cancer

FACE
Start date: December 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Eligible patients will be post-menopausal hormone receptor- and lymph node-positive females who recently underwent primary surgery for breast cancer. Patients will be randomized to letrozole (2.5 mg per day for 5 years) vs anastrozole (1 mg per day for 5 years). Follow up will occur for 5 years after the completion of enrollment for survival and disease status updates.

NCT ID: NCT00247390 Completed - Chronic Insomnia Clinical Trials

Long-Term Efficacy and Safety of Ramelteon in Adults With Chronic Insomnia.

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study to determine the long-term efficacy and safety of ramelteon, once daily (QD).

NCT ID: NCT00247273 Completed - Clinical trials for Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

A Study of Monthly Risedronate for Osteoporosis

Start date: October 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this trial is to study the efficacy of a single-dose monthly dosing regimen as compared to the standard daily dosing regimen of risedronate 5 mg daily.

SOLIACS: Solian Solution in the Acute Setting

Start date: June 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

During this study the efficacy and safety profile will be evaluated of the use of amisulpride in the form of a solution in schizophrenic patients with an acute episode. The main purpose of the study is to observe the anti-psychotic effect of amisulpride as a solution during the first days of an acute episode of schizophrenia.

NCT ID: NCT00244764 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Renal Cell

GW786034 In Subjects With Locally Recurrent Or Metastatic Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

Start date: October 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Phase II, multi-center, two-stage study utilising a randomised discontinuation design to evaluate the safety and efficacy of GW786034 (pazopanib) in adult subjects with locally recurrent or metastatic clear-cell Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). After the interim analysis, the design was changed to an open label, single arm study with all subjects receiving pazopanib.

NCT ID: NCT00244634 Completed - Clinical trials for Pediatric Hypertension

Atacand Dose Range Finding Study in Pediatric Subjects 6 to <17 Years of Age

Start date: September 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Study 261A is a dose-ranging and safety study of candesartan cilexetil. It is a multinational, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study with a 4 week treatment period in hypertensive pediatric subjects. Subjects undergo a screening evaluation, then a 1-week, single-blind, placebo run-in after which eligible subjects are allocated to receive 1 of 3 dose levels of candesartan cilexetil or placebo. The study includes 2 panels based on subject weight. The primary efficacy analysis is based on the intent-to-treat population and tests for slope = 0 in a linear regression model with change in sitting systolic blood pressure as the dependent and non-zero dose pooled across weight panels as the independent variable. For subjects without a Double-Blind Week 4 blood pressure determination, carrying the last value forward assigns the value. Additional analyses will include data pooled from a similar dose ranging study conducted in children 1 to < 6 years of age.

NCT ID: NCT00244621 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Atacand Dose Ranging in Hypertensive Pediatric Subjects 1 Year to Less Than 6 Years of Age

Start date: November 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a dose ranging study of candesartan cilexetil in hypertensive pediatric subjects ages 1 to less than 6 years of age. It employs a double blind, randomized, dose ranging design intended for conduct as a multicenter trial. There are 3 study 'periods': a 1-week placebo run-in, a 4-week double blind treatment, and a 52-week open-label, long-term treatment period. Subjects undergo a screening evaluation, then a 1-week single-blind, placebo run-in, after which eligible subjects are allocated to receive 1 of 3 dose levels of candesartan cilexetil (0.05 mg/kg, or 0.20 mg /kg or 0.40 mg /kg), liquid formulation, in a 1:1:1 ratio for 4-weeks. At the end of randomized dose allocation (Day 28), blood pressure assessment will be performed and subjects may begin the 52-week, open-label treatment period of the study.
