There are about 13446 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Belgium. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study aims to determine if treatment with apixaban, compared with aspirin, will reduce the risk of ischemic stroke and systemic embolism in patients with device-detected sub-clinical atrial fibrillation and additional risk factors for stroke.
This double-blind randomized, parallel group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of lenalidomide (Revlimid, CC-5013) in combination with rituximab (MabThera/Rituxan) in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma or marginal zone lymphoma. Patients will be randomized to receive either lenalidomide or placebo for twelve 28-day cycles in combination with rituximab. Anticipated time on study treatment is 1 year.
Bronchial hyperresponsiveness consists in excessive response to bronchial stimuli.Bronchial challenge test is used to confirm/exclude asthma (metacholine or histamine).Protection are used to avoid passive exposure of the technicians performing the test, despite the absence of evidence that they could develop a bronchoconstriction even if they suffer from BHR.The purpose of the study is to determine if patients with a high level of bronchial hyperreactivity and exposed passively to histamine during a bronchial challenge, are developing a bronchoconstriction, when placed in the same conditions that the technicians performing these tests.
A multicenter observational study trial validating Quality of Life assessment using EuraHS Quality of Life score and Carolinas Comfort scale™ in patients before and after laparoscopic unilateral inguinal hernia repair. Depending on the treating physician patients will receive a TAPP or TEP repair for their inguinal hernia and a self-gripping mesh will be used for the repair (Parietex Progrip Mesh). Primary endpoint will be assessment by the EuraHS-QoL at 1 year after laparoscopic repair of an unilateral inguinal hernia using the Anatomic ProGrip™ Laparoscopic self-fixating mesh. Secondary endpoints are assessment of the QoL 3 preoperative, 3 weeks and 1 year postoperative, recurrence rate at 12 months, intra-operative and post-operative complications, post-operative hospital stay, operation time and time to place the mesh, VAS (Visual Analog Scale) for pain at several control points, VRS (Verbal Rating Score) for pain at 3 weeks and 12 months, pain medication needed.
This is a double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, 2-arm, Phase 2 trial investigating the efficacy and safety of combination therapy of pimasertib plus SAR245409 and pimasertib placebo administered once per day compared to pimasertib administered twice per day plus SAR245409 placebo administered once per day in participants with previously treated unresectable low-grade serous ovarian or peritoneal carcinoma or serous borderline ovarian or peritoneal tumors.
IC-GLOSSARI (The Intensive Care GLObal Study on Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) is a multicentre, prospective, observational,14-day inception cohort study designed and conducted by the ESICM Trials Group to investigate the epidemiology and microbiology profiles of ICU-SARI, document commonly used treatment and monitoring strategies, measure current outcomes and identify potential topics for multidisciplinary studies ranging from interventional clinical trials to fundamental mechanisms of disease. The purpose of this study is to answer the following questions: What is the frequency and disease burden of SARI for ICU's worldwide? What are the aetiologies of ICU SARI? How are SARI patients diagnosed and managed in the ICU? What is the outcome from SARI in the ICU? Is there a difference in outcomes from SARI depending on the aetiology of the disease? Can we identify high-risk categories of SARI that could constitute a defined population for an interventional study?
The purpose of this study is to investigate safety, toleration and time course of plasma concentration of multiple oral doses of PF-06273340 for 14 days in healthy subjects of two age groups, aged 18-55 years (Group 1) and aged 56-75 years (Group 2)
This study will test the potential for PF-05089771 to interact with a cocktail of drugs
This is a multi-center, phase Ib/ II study (two parts) with patients that had recurrent glioblastoma multiforme. The first part (phase Ib) was to investigate the maximum tolerated dose/Recommended phase ll dose (MTD/RP2D) of once daily buparlisib in combination with every-three-week carboplatin or buparlisib once daily in combination with every-six-week lomustine (CCNU) using a Bayesian model. Once MTD/ RP2D is established in either of the 2 arms, the corresponding phase II portion of the study was to start. Phase II was to assess the treatment effect of buparlisib in combination with carboplatin in terms of Progression Free Survival (PFS) and was to compare the treatment effect of buparlisib with lomustine versus lomustine plus placebo in terms of PFS. A preliminary assessment for both combinations (buparlisib plus carboplatin or lomustine) demonstrated that there was not enough antitumor activity compared to historical data with single agent carboplatin or lomustine. Based on the overall safety profile, and preliminary anti-tumor activity observed in this study, Novartis decided that no additional patients would be enrolled into this study. As a consequence, the Phase II part of the study was not conducted.
Prior to the use of genomic tests for patient inclusion in clinical trials, it is essential for the Jules Bordet Institute (JBI) to pilot the logistical and technical aspects by examining the feasibility and turnaround time of performing and obtaining data from a few key molecular assays. Patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer or melanoma will be enrolled. Biopsie from metastatic lesions will be performed. A targeted cancer gene screen assay will be performed using DNA sequencing. Results will be discussed during a molecular screening tumor board.
