NCT ID: NCT00382044 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

Audit of the Effect of Changing From IV to SC Administration of ESA's in Haemodialysis Patients

Start date: September 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to audit the effects of changing all hemodialysis patients from intravenous to subcutaneous administration of ESA's, to ensure that a cost-saving is achieved and that this does not occur at the expense of anemia control. The dose changes will occur according to usual clinical care of patients and not along a protocol.

NCT ID: NCT00381680 Completed - Clinical trials for B-cell Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Low-Dose or High-Dose Vincristine and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Young Patients With Relapsed B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized phase III trial is studying low-dose vincristine to see how well it works compared with high-dose vincristine when given together with different combination chemotherapy regimens in treating young patients with intermediate-risk relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giving the drugs in different ways and different doses may kill more cancer cells..

NCT ID: NCT00381667 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Disease, Chronic Obstructive

Study to Assess GW642444 in Asthma Patients

Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a study of GW642444M, a long-acting beta 2 specific agonist. This study will examine GW642444M via the inhaled route and will assess the efficacy, safety, tolerability, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of a single administration of three inhaled doses (25, 100 and 400 µg) of GW642444M in persistent asthmatics. This study will be a single-centre, placebo-controlled, dose-ascending, five-way crossover in 30 asthmatic patients. Key assessments: efficacy, safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics will be assessed by measurement of FEV1, blood pressure, pulse rate, 12-lead ECGs, clinical laboratory safety tests, collection of adverse events and blood samples.

NCT ID: NCT00381082 Completed - Pediculosis Clinical Trials

A Randomised, Assessor-Blind, Comparative Efficacy Clinical Trial of 3 Pediculicides.

Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Objective To compare the cure rates (defined as the complete absence of live lice, adults or nymphs, as diagnosed by wet-combing of three Australian approved head lice products for the treatment of primary school children with head lice infestation. The study design will be randomised and assessor-blind using three comparative parallel treatment groups. The study population will consist of Queensland state primary school children (up to Year 7) with live head lice (adults or nymphs) on the hair or scalp who have not used any head lice product in the four weeks prior to the study.

NCT ID: NCT00380874 Terminated - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

Prevention And Treatment Of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy In Subjects With Advanced Colorectal Cancer

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Prevention and treatment of the severity of symptoms of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.

NCT ID: NCT00380068 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Hypertension

Safety and Efficacy Study of Ambrisentan in Subjects With Pulmonary Hypertension

Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ambrisentan in a broad population of participants with pulmonary hypertension (PH). Secondary objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of ambrisentan on other clinical measures of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), long-term treatment success, and survival.

NCT ID: NCT00379769 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

RECORD: Rosiglitazone Evaluated for Cardiac Outcomes and Regulation of Glycaemia in Diabetes

RECORD
Start date: April 2001
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is a phase 3b, multicentre, randomised, open label, parallel group study. A 4-week run-in period will be followed by a median of 6 years of treatment with study medication in addition to continuation of background glucose lowering therapy. Patients inadequately controlled on background metformin will be randomised to receive, in addition to metformin, either rosiglitazone or a sulfonylurea(glibenclamide, gliclazide or glimepiride) in a ratio of 1:1. Patients inadequately controlled on background SU will be randomised to receive, in addition to SU, either rosiglitazone or metformin in a ratio of 1:1. Equal numbers of patients receiving background metformin and SU at entry will be entered into the study.

NCT ID: NCT00379340 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage III Kidney Wilms Tumor

Combination Chemotherapy With or Without Radiation Therapy in Treating Young Patients With Newly Diagnosed Stage III or Stage IV Wilms' Tumor

Start date: February 26, 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy with or without radiation therapy works in treating young patients with newly diagnosed stage III or stage IV Wilms' tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) with or without radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.

NCT ID: NCT00377858 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Comparison of Two Approaches to Insulin Therapy in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes (IOOX)

IOOX
Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

A study of patients with type 2 diabetes and inadequate glycemic control on two or more oral antihyperglycemic agents comparing adding insulin lispro mid mixture to the oral antihyperglycemic agents to adding insulin glargine to the oral antihyperglycemic agents.

NCT ID: NCT00377637 Completed - Lupus Nephritis Clinical Trials

A Study of Mycophenolate Mofetil (CellCept) in Management of Patients With Lupus Nephritis.

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This 2 arm study assessed the efficacy of Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF; CellCept) compared to cyclophosphamide in inducing a response in patients with lupus nephritis, and the long term efficacy of MMF compared to azathioprine in maintaining remission and renal function. Patients were randomized to receive either MMF (1.5 g twice daily [bid]) or cyclophosphamide (0.5-1.0 g/m^2 in monthly pulses) in the induction phase. Those patients meeting criteria for response were re-randomized for entry into the maintenance phase, to receive either MMF (1 g bid) or azathioprine (2 mg/kg/day).
