There are about 10460 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Australia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to determine if OSI-774 will improve overall survival when combined with a standard dose of the chemotherapy drug gemcitabine, to individuals with pancreatic cancer.
Intensive chemotherapy is associated with significant thrombocytopenia, often requiring platelet transfusion to maintain platelet counts. This investigational drug has been demonstrated to increase platelet counts. This study will test the safety and efficacy of the investigational drug in the prevention of thrombocytopenia in patients with recurrent or refractory intermediate-grade or high-grade non-Burkitt's, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), or Hodgkin's disease receiving DHAP (Dexamethasone, high-dose Cytarabine, and Cisplatin) chemotherapy.
The primary goal of this study is to determine if people with metastatic melanoma who receive Heat Shock Protein-Peptide Complex - 96 (HSPPC-96 or Oncophage) after surgery live longer than people who may or may not have surgery but who receive conventional chemotherapy including IL-2/DTIC. A second goal is to determine the safety and frequency of side effects in subjects who receive therapy with HSPPC-96.
To compare the sequential administration of exemestane with administration of further tamoxifen until 5 years in postmenopausal women with operable breast cancer who have already received 2-3 years of adjuvant tamoxifen, in terms of disease-free survival (DFS), overall survival (OS), incidence of contralateral breast cancer and long-term tolerability.
The purpose of this study is to determine if OSI-774 will improve overall survival of patients with incurable stage IIIB/IV non-small cell lung cancer compared to standard of care. OSI-774 is a new type of drug under evaluation called an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). OSI-774 is an investigational drug that has not yet been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
This study is being done to evaluate the safety and efficacy of atrasentan in men with non-metastatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
This study is being done to evaluate the safety and efficacy of atrasentan in men with metastatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether sivelestat will reduce the amount of time a patient must spend on a ventilator and/or increase the chance of survival of patients with acute lung injury.
Definition: This study will compare the drug GEMZAR to a combination of GEMZAR plus ALIMTA for the treatment of cancer of the pancreas. Patients may be able to participate in this study if they have cancer in their pancreas that cannot be removed by surgery OR that has spread to a new site in their body.
This randomized phase III trial is studying cyclophosphamide, prednisone, and immunoglobulin to see how well they work compared to cyclophosphamide and prednisone alone in treating patients with abnormal trunk muscle movements associated with neuroblastoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Steroid therapy decreases inflammation. Combining chemotherapy and steroid therapy with immunoglobulin may be effective in treating abnormal muscle movement associated with neuroblastoma.
