NCT ID: NCT00268593 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Pilot Efficacy Study of PI-88 With Docetaxel to Treat Prostate Cancer

Start date: August 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Docetaxel (Taxotere) is an approved chemotherapeutic drug for the treatment of androgen-independent prostate cancer. The aim of the study is to investigate whether addition of the investigational drug PI-88 will increase the efficacy of docetaxel in this disease. PI-88 inhibits cancer growth by inhibiting the development of new blood vessels and starving the tumour of oxygen and nutrients (anti-angiogenic). Because PI-88 and docetaxel have different mechanisms of action, they are expected to have increased (synergistic) activity when combined.

NCT ID: NCT00268528 Completed - Clinical trials for Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission

Study to Assess Compliance With Long-Term Mercaptopurine Treatment in Young Patients With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission

Start date: May 30, 2005
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This clinical trial is assessing compliance with long-term mercaptopurine treatment in young patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in remission. Assessing why young patients who have acute lymphoblastic leukemia may not take their medications as prescribed may help identify ways to assist them in taking their medications more consistently and may improve long-term treatment outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT00268216 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Disease, Chronic Obstructive

Survival Of Subjects With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Start date: September 2000
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to see if fluticasone 500mcg/salmeterol 50mcg can improve the survival of subjects with COPD and also assess the long term safety profile of this drug.

NCT ID: NCT00266682 Completed - Bradycardia Clinical Trials

Clinical Investigation of the SelectSecure Pacing Lead

Start date: August 2002
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

People who have a slow heart beat, or whose heart does not beat on its own, may be in need of an electronic device called a pacemaker. A pacemaker is implanted surgically just under the skin in the upper chest area. This device helps the heart beat at a regular rhythm by sending electrical signals (pacing) directly to the heart tissue through flexible wires called leads. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the SelectSecure (Model 3830) lead is safe and effective for both sensing the heart’s natural rhythm and pacing the heart when it does not beat on its own. This lead will be studied in both the right atrium and right ventricle. A previously market approved Medtronic lead model will serve as a comparison to prove the safety and effectiveness of the SelectSecure Model.

NCT ID: NCT00266253 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

A Study of GK Activator (2) in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Treated With a Stable Dose of Metformin

Start date: November 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of GK Activator (2) in combination with metformin, compared to that of placebo (metformin monotherapy), in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Patients will continue on their stable dose of metformin and will be randomized to receive either GK Activator (2) or placebo. The anticipated time on study treatment is less than 3 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00264914 Completed - Hyponatremia Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy of SR121463B in Patients With Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion

SIADH Safety
Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To determine the long-term safety and tolerability of SR121463B in patients with syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic secretion (SIADH). To assess the long-term efficacy of SR121463B in maintaining normal levels of serum sodium in patients with SIADH. Long term safety is evaluated further in an open label extension study with flexible doses of satavaptan.

NCT ID: NCT00264667 Completed - Clinical trials for Metabolic Syndrome X

Study In Patients With Dyslipidaemia

Start date: December 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Study in patients with dyslipidaemia.

NCT ID: NCT00264550 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

An Efficacy and Safety Study of Golimumab in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis Despite Methotrexate Therapy

GO-FORWARD
Start date: December 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of golimumab, alone or in combination with methotrexate (MTX), as compared to methotrexate alone in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who have active rheumatoid arthritis despite treatment with MTX.

NCT ID: NCT00264537 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

A Study of the Safety and Efficacy of Golimumab in Subjects With Rheumatoid Arthritis That Are Methotrexate-naive

Start date: December 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of golimumab, alone or in combination with methotrexate, as compared to methotrexate alone in rheumatoid arthritis subjects who have not been previously treated with methotrexate.

NCT ID: NCT00264511 Completed - Tibial Fracture Clinical Trials

Hyperbaric Oxygen in Lower Leg Trauma

Start date: February 13, 2007
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Study hypothesis :Hyperbaric Oxygen may prevent complications and improve outcomes in severe lower limb trauma. We propose to investigate this hypothesis by conducting an International multi centre randomised control trial of standard trauma/orthopaedic care with or without a concurrent course of hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
