The study is a randomized trial of two different screening methods for early detection of liver cancer in patients with cirrhosis of the liver. The goal of PREMIUM is to compare an abbreviated version of the diagnostic gold standard for HCC (aMRI) +AFP to the standard-of-care screening (US+AFP) in patients at high risk of developing HCC. The investigators hypothesize that HCC will be detected at earlier stages, allowing for more curative treatments and resulting in a reduction in HCC-related mortality.
In this study, a single dose of VIR-2218 up to 200 mg SC or VIR-3434 at 300 mg SC monotherapy or a combination of VIR-2218 and VIR-3434 will be administered to assess the pharmacokinetic (PK) exposure, safety, and tolerability of VIR-2218 and VIR-3434 in participants with cirrhosis and Hepatic Impairment, defined using the Child-Pugh-Turcotte (CPT) categorization.

This research study is creating a way to collect and store specimens and information from participants who may be at an increased risk of developing cancer, or has been diagnosed with an early phase of a cancer or a family member who has a family member with a precursor condition for cancer. - The objective of this study is to identify exposures as well as clinical, molecular, and pathological changes that can be used to predict early development of cancer, malignant transformation, and risks of progression to symptomatic cancer that can ultimately be fatal. - The ultimate goal is to identify novel markers of early detection and risk stratification to drive potential therapeutic approaches to intercept progression to cancer.
The aim of this prospective observational study is to evaluate the impact of acute kidney injury on sarcopenia and frailty in patients with liver cirrhosis.
Liver transplantation is increasingly performed for older adults with multiple comorbidities. Medication adherence is key to maintaining proper function of the transplanted liver and optimize health; however, adhering to post-transplant treatment is complex. This trial will study how available technology combined with transplant center resources and caregiver support can optimize medication adherence, quality of life, and health outcomes among new liver transplant recipients at 3 centers.
