The OMCAT Register aims to provide learning databases in cancer comprising both PRO data using PRO-React and "ground truth" (outcome data verified by the physician during patient examinations). Intelligent learning and knowledge engineering procedures will utilize this PRO data to provide high-quality event prediction algorithms. The ground-truth data enables so-called "supervised learning" techniques of artificial intelligence, because predicted events can be verified with a high level of certainty from ground-truth data.

Testing the Effectiveness of Coping With Cancer in the Kitchen

Impact of Relaxing Visual Immersion on Anxiety During Anti-cancer Treatment.

Since the 60's and 70's, the soar of audiovisual technologies allowed the development of virtual reality (VR). These technologies were then adapted to help reducing anxiety and pain during medical procedures. For visual or audio stimulation, the use of glasses or helmet is frequent. However, little is know about the efficacy of technologies which are not isolating the patient from his real environment during medical care. With this study, the investigators will assess the impact of this kind of sensitive stimulation without isolating the patient, on reducing the anxiety during intravenous treatment in patients with cancer. The machine the investigators are using is projecting relaxing nature movies on the ceiling of the room, with nature sounds or relaxing music.

Feasibility of Adjunctive BLT for Amelioration of Fatigue in Chinese Cancer Patients Admitted to a Palliative Care Unit

Fatigue is the most common symptom in palliative care patients who have advanced cancer. Fatigue is also one of the most underreported hence under-treated symptoms. Patients may perceive it as a condition to be endured, whereas healthcare workers find it very challenging to assess and treat due to its subjective nature and multi-dimensional causes. However, evidence-based practice to tackle this distressing problem is still inadequate, and that a one-size fit all approach is unrealistic. Various pharmacological options have been examined, but due to limited evidence, no specific drug could be recommended. Latest development in management of fatigue includes non-pharmacological approach. Bright Light Treatment (BLT) has also evolved as a favourable treatment for cancer-related fatigue. BLT is the prescription of artificial bright light over a designated period of time. Recent clinical evidence showed that BLT reduced symptom of fatigue in patients undergoing active chemotherapy and cancer survivours. There is however no data on bright light therapy used in in-patient palliative care settings. A single group, prospective interventional study will be conducted in in-patient palliative care unit of Shatin Hospital (N = 42). The aim is to assess the feasibility and impact of BLT as an in-patient intervention in a cohort of local Chinese palliative care in-patients diagnosed with incurable cancer with documented symptom of fatigue, and to ascertain the changes of fatigue, mood, sleep and quality of life after 1-week exposure of BLT.

Study of Psilocybin Enhanced Group Psychotherapy in Patients With Cancer

This pilot project is an open-label trial that will offer psilocybin in a group format to assess the feasibility of offering psilocybin therapy in a group setting with a decreased therapist to subject ratio. Study intervention will involve a group of six patients with one therapist per subject for a 1:1 ratio, thus significantly reducing the total number of therapist hours per subject compared to standard individual therapy protocols. Two groups of six will be treated on this trial. After the enrollment and treatment of the first group of six patients, accrual will be placed on hold to ensure subject safety. If stopping rules are not met (Section 11), the next group of six patients will be enrolled and treated on study. The study intervention will include a total of seven group therapy sessions including three 2-hour preparatory sessions, one 8-hour psilocybin session, and one two-hour integration session. The group therapy sessions will occur on a weekly basis, followed one week later by the psilocybin session. The first integration group session will occur 1-2 days following the psilocybin session.

Study of the Specific Seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in a Sample of Patients and Salaried Staff From a French Anti-cancer Center at the End of the Containment Period of the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic

Since March 2020, France has been confronted with the SARS-COV-2 pandemic. Analysis of the data of its spread would indicate that close contact between individuals is necessary and containment would be the best way to contain this virus. France has therefore been contained since March 17, 2020 until 11 May 2020. In order to assess the impact of the measures taken (containment) to protect patients and salaried staff of a french anti-cancer center on the spread of the virus, this observational study assesses the specific seroprevalence of SARS-COV-2 in all caregivers and non-carers of this hospital and in patients treated in consultation, day hospitalization, full hospitalization at the end of the containment period. The objective for the staff cohort is to describe the seroprevalence and the link between the seroprevalence and sociological / demographic factors relating to the category of profession, to the contacts with the patients, to the presence in the hospital during the period of containment, to the conditions of home containment. The objective for the patient cohort is to describe the seroprevalence and the link between the seroprevalence and factors relating to the type of cancer treated, the type of treatment and their possible modification during the period of containment, to the conditions of home containment.
