A prospective observational cohort trial to study the effects of CGRP inhibitors (CGRPi) on lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and bladder/pelvic pain. Candidates for either CGRPi or an alternative therapy for refractory migraines (OnabotulinumtoxinA (BoNTA) extracranial muscle injections) with baseline LUTS will be recruited. The investigators will assess LUTS and pelvic pain using validated symptom and quality-of-life questionnaires, pretreatment and at 3 months post-treatment follow-up, comparing change in symptoms based on treatment received.
This study is to describe the real-world use and impact of semaglutide once-weekly (OW) among participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in China. Participants diagnosed with T2DM who initiated semaglutide OW for the first time between 1 Jan 2022 (the date when semaglutide OW was listed in the National Reimbursement Drug List [NRDL] in China] and 28 Feb 2023 (9 months prior to the data extraction cut-off date of 30 Nov 2023) will be included in this study. The study period will be 36 months prior to the first date of participants identification period.
The overall goal of this project is to design, implement, and revise the Core Competency Model for Corrections (CCM-C), an evidence-based Self-Directed Violence (SDV) prevention training program for correctional mental health providers in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (DAC). The proposed specific aims are: Aim 1: To create the CCM-C training program. Aim 2: To assess preliminary training effectiveness. Aim 3: To gather training program quality improvement feedback from corrections stakeholders.

Heavy episodic alcohol use within the college student population is widespread, creating problems for student drinkers, their peers, and their institutions. Negative consequences from heavy alcohol use can be mild (e.g., hangovers, missed classes), to severe (e.g., assault, even death). Although online interventions targeting college student drinking reduce alcohol consumption and associated problems, they are not as effective as in-person interventions. Online interventions are cost-effective, offer privacy, reduce stigma, and may reach individuals who would otherwise not receive treatment. In a recently completed randomized, controlled trial, an emailed booster with personalized feedback improved the efficacy of a popular online intervention. A second randomized, controlled trial confirmed efficacy for students of legal drinking age for a longer timeline. Although promising, the booster incorporated in the study needs further empirical refinement. The current project seeks to build on past progress by further developing and refining the booster. In particular, the current project is an extension of previous work by expanding the investigation into complete social networks (students involved in Greek life). This booster contains feedback about alcohol use tailored to the recipient, and will be emailed 2, 6, 10, and 14 weeks after baseline (experimental condition), or not at all (control condition). This study will be conducted specifically with students who are members of fraternities or sororities at ODU (specifically, those in the organizations that agree to participate). This population engages in heavy alcohol use so is ideal for an alcohol intervention. Members of fraternities and sororities (i.e., "Greek life") engage in more frequent drinking, consume more when drinking, and have higher peak drinking occasions than students not involved in Greek life. We aim to administer the intervention and associated booster among complete networks of Greek organizations to examine how the intervention and booster and progress through social networks.
Inherited Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a disorder that causes skin fragility and blistering in skin and mucous membranes, including the mouth. Recurrent oral blisters and ulcer result in oral pain and discomfort. Dentoxol® is a mouthrinse that has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and analgesic effects. It has significant potential to reduce EB related oral symptoms. This study includes people living with Inherited Epidermolysis Bullosa aged 6 and above; and is aimed at determining the efficacy of two different dose regimens of Dentoxol mouthrinse in reducing oral symptoms.
A prospective randomized interventional study will be conducted in the Military University Hospital Prague at the department of Anesthesiology and Intensive care. The incidence of thyroid isthmus penetration will be evaluated during percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy in two groups (ultrasound-guided puncture vs. standard approach using only anatomical landmarks).
Study objective: This study is planning to explore factors predicting the use of life-sustaining treatment, develop the screening criteria of proactive clinical ethics consultations, the effect of proactive clinical ethics consultations and interprofessional practice on end-of-life care of the critically ill in the intensive care settings, and develop the competency for trainees by interprofessional education. Methods: Data will be collected prospectively. Data between January 2013 and April 2014 was collected from hospital electronic record and ethics consultation document. All data will be analyzed for patients dying in the intensive care settings during the first stage of the study. Factors predicting the use of life-sustaining treatment will be determined. The Delphi technique will be applied to secure a consensus among the panel of experts chosen to help develop the screening criteria of proactive ethics consultations. A prospective randomized controlled trial will be conducted during the second stage of the study on a convenience sample of adult critical ill patients in the intensive care settings. Patients will randomize to the intervention group receive proactive ethics consultations. The control group will undergo routine intensive care, receiving clinical ethics consultations as requested by healthcare team, patients or family. All participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire rating their satisfaction with the healthcare process and consultations if conducted. Mean length of stay and the duration of the use of life-sustaining treatment will be compared between two groups. Secondary outcomes will include the proportion of satisfied families and healthcare team members. The interprofessional education with the core curriculum and case scenario for simulation will be developed, implement, and evaluated.
