NCT ID: NCT02847754 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Vertebral Bony Metastases

Differentiated Resistance Training of the Paravertebral Muscles in Patients With Unstable Spinal Bone Metastasis Under Concomitant Radiotherapy

DISPO-2
Start date: August 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Standard indications for palliative radiation of bony metastases include pain, spinal cord compression, and impending pathologic fractures. Palliative radiation therapy serves to reduce pain, improve quality of life, and avoid complications. Tailored training of the paravertebral musculature may support Radiation therapy and improve above named factors. DISPO-2 was designed to investigate the impact of tailored physical exercise in patients with unstable vertebral metastases as compared to manual therapy (massage etc.). The trial includes patients with painful unstable bony metastases, patients with spinal cord compression or impending pathological fractures are excluded. The investigations are carried out in a prospective randomized controlled phase-II parallel group design.

NCT ID: NCT02848053 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The Long-term Effect of Tianqi Capsule Interventions to Prevent Diabetes in the REDUCES Study: a 8-year Follow-up Study

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Objectives: This study is aimed to assess whether Tianqi Capsule interventions have a long-term effect on the risk of diabetes and provide evidence that early intervention by traditional Chinese medicine could delay the progression from impaired glucose tolerance to diabetes. Study contents: 1.420 participants were followed up for 8 years to assess the long-term effect of Tianqi Capsule. Phone-call followed up was applied to investigate the status of impaired glucose tolerance and orthoglycemic survivors until the end of REDUCES study. 2.To participants that determined the status of glucose metabolism, a variety of ways were used to find the evidence of diagnosis of glucose metabolic status, such as glycemia laboratory sheets from normal hospitals, medical records, the use of antidiabetic drugs or insulin injection, etc. 3. To participants that undiagnosed the status of glucose metabolism, oral glucose tolerance test, blood pressure, weight and blood biochemical analysis were performed to assess the state of glucose metabolism. 4. Questionnaires were given to all the participants to investigate their condition of treatment, diet, exercise and other lifestyle.

NCT ID: NCT02848287 Not yet recruiting - Tonsillitis Clinical Trials

Influence of 0.75% Ropivacaine Topicalization on Emergence Agitation in Children

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Emergence agitation (EA) is highly prevalent in children after surgery. Risk factors for EA are Eye, nose and throat (ENT) surgery, preoperative anxiety, postoperative pain. There are several preventive strategies but none of them completely prevent EA. Topical application of ropivacaine can reduce post-tonsillectomy pain. Therefore, it might reduce the incidence of postoperative EA.

NCT ID: NCT02848625 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Yoga Effect on Quality of Life Study Among Patients With Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

YES-IPF
Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate whether regular yoga exercises designed specifically for patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis is associated with any change in quality of life. Half of the participants will be randomized to yoga, half to usual care. After the first group completes 12 weeks of yoga, the patients who were randomized to usual care will completed 12 weeks of yoga.

NCT ID: NCT02848898 Not yet recruiting - Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Trials

The Effects of Focal Vibration on Spasticity in Multiple Sclerosis Patients

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial consists of application of little devices (named Equistasi®) generating focal vibrations to treat spasticity in neurological patients, affected by multiple sclerosis. The expected effects are on gait and postural instability.

NCT ID: NCT02848950 Not yet recruiting - Infertility Female Clinical Trials

The Effect of Metformin on Fecundability in an ART(Assisted Reproductive Technology) Setting - the Correlation to Uterine Flows

Start date: August 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The basis for obesity's impact on reproduction is not well characterised and there is a controversy whether the key organ influenced by it are the ovaries or the uterus. Insulin sensitizers ameliorate insulin resistance in obese patients. This study seeks to determine if Metformin helps to increase fecundability by affecting the uterus in women undergoing ART. As a surrogate marker- flows in the uterus will be tested during the treatment.

NCT ID: NCT02850198 Not yet recruiting - Ischemic Stroke Clinical Trials

A Randomized Controlled Study of the Effectiveness of Scalp Electroacupuncture in Improving Upper Limb Motor Function in Convalescent Phase of Ischemic Stroke.

Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research is primary to compare effectiveness of scalp electroacupuncture and scalp acupuncture on motor function of the upper limb(UL) in convalescence phase of ischemic stroke. The clinical research is a randomized controlled trial (RCT),consisting of two arms of scalp electroacupuncture group and sham sclp electroacupuncture group to value difference of upper limb function after 4 weeks. The result indicates that scalp electroacupuncture is more sufficient to alter function. The purpose is to value effectiveness of scalp electroacupuncture on motor function of the upper limb in convalescence phase of ischemic stroke.
