The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of Pompage associated or not with PBM, using a cluster of LEDs, on pain and neck disability. This controlled, randomized, and blinded clinical study includes participants of both genders, aged 18 to 55, with non-specific chronic neck pain will be included. Participants will be randomized into two groups: (1) Pompage (n=28) focusing only on manual therapy through Pompage technique and (2) Pompage + PBM Group (n=28) involving the same procedures as the first group, followed by PBM with a LED cluster applied for 10 minutes to the neck region for 10 sessions. Pain and functional disability will be assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS) and Neck Pain Disability Index before and after the intervention. The resulting data will be submitted to statistical analysis considering α=0.05.

Esophagectomy is an important means of radical treatment of esophageal cancer, but due to local recurrence and metastasis, the 5-year survival rate of patients with esophageal cancer is only 20-30%. Studies have reported that about 50% of patients relapse within 1 year after surgery, and the short-term recurrence rate is high. Therefore, reducing the recurrence rate of esophageal cancer after operation is an important way to improve its prognosis. Porphyromonas gingivalis infection in ESCC tissues was significantly higher than that in paracancer tissues, and was significantly positively correlated with cancer cell differentiation, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, and shortened survival of ESCC patients. In summary, porphyromonas gingivalis plays an important role in postoperative recurrence of esophageal cancer. Elimination of porphyromonas gingivalis can significantly reduce the recurrence rate of esophageal cancer after operation. Tinidazole is a class of nitroimidazole drugs. It has been pointed out that the pharmacological mechanism of Tinidazole is to inhibit the DNA synthesis of pathogenic bacteria, so as to eliminate bacteria in periodontal tissues and inhibit local inflammation. Based on this, we designed and fabricated a novel oral microneedle patch loaded with tinidazole. Tinidazole oral microneedle patch can effectively remove porphyromonas gingivalis and promote the repair of gingival tissue. In this study, based on the combination of mechanical removal and antibacterial treatment, a combination of ultrasonic dental cleaning and tinidazole oral composite microneedle patch was designed to completely remove porphyromonas gingivalis in oral cavity, and to evaluate the effect of removal of porphyromonas gingivalis in oral cavity on the prognosis of esophageal cancer after radical surgery.

This study is a clinical trial being done to investigate the efficacy of drug BRS201 as a treatment in patients with active mild ulcerative colitis. Participation in this study will take 12 weeks long and the study is structured as a crossover study in which participants will take the study drug for 4 weeks and a placebo drug for 4 weeks in a randomized order in the form of an oral medication. Participation may also involve receiving an IV dose of the medication. The study will require participants to attend 7 study visits, all of which will be conducted at a study site. Participation will involve taking an oral medication twice daily, tracking the medication in a log, and getting blood drawn and giving a stool and urine sample for a few lab tests throughout the study.

Participation may also involve receiving an IV dose of the medication. The study will require participants to attend 7 study visits, all of which will be conducted at a study site. Participation will involve taking an oral medication twice daily, tracking the medication in a log, and getting blood drawn and giving a stool and urine sample for a few lab tests throughout the study. Participants may also undergo a flexible sigmoidoscopy at the beginning and end of the study.
This is a pilot trial of a school-partnered collaborative care (SPACE) model for pediatric type 1 diabetes. The trial will investigate the feasibility and acceptability of SPACE for children with type 1 diabetes in the school setting. SPACE is adapted from a collaborative care model used to treat depression and other mental health care conditions in adolescents and adults.
This study will be a randomized trial that will examine the impact of a recreational ballet program on children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research team are primarily interested in assessing changes in motor skills with secondary objectives focused on the social, psychological, and behavioral effects. The study will aim to collect data from 24 participants with ASD. Participants must be 7-12 years old, have a confirmed diagnosis of ASD, and speak English or Spanish. All participants will be enrolled in a 12 week ballet program. The ballet program is based off the curriculum and structure of Ballet for All Kids, a non-profit organization that has been tailoring ballet classes for children with ASD for over one decade. All research team members and volunteers will be trained in the BFAK program's curriculum and structure. Ballet instruction and all research materials will be provided in both English and Spanish. The research team will randomize the sample into an intervention group and waitlist control. The research team will measure outcomes through validated self-reports that caregivers will complete. For the intervention group, questionnaires will be completed at baseline and throughout the intervention (weeks 4, 8, and 12). For those in the waitlist control group, questionnaires will be completed at baseline, throughout the intervention group's ballet classes, and throughout their own participation in the program. Results of this study will help to determine if how a recreational ballet program can impact the motor, psychological, social, and behavioral skills of a child with ASD, informing the direction of future research and interventions.
Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) have high testosterone levels which is associated with altered insulin-glucose metabolism and an adverse blood lipid profile, predisposing them to the development of Type II Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease (CVD). This study will investigate the use of dietary fish oil supplementation as a safe and effective intervention, and as an adjunct therapy to standard of care treatment with metformin to improve heart health, blood lipids and insulin-glucose metabolism in women with PCOS, and those with PCOS and Type 2 Diabetes.
Total knee arthroplasty is a common surgery in routine clinical practice that, although it achieves an improvement in the functionality and quality of life of patients, it causes intense postoperative pain. In this regard, locoregional block techniques are commonly used for the immediate postoperative period. However, these techniques have the disadvantage of being of limited duration and the appearance of so-called "rebound pain" when their effect wears off. To counteract this problem and maintain adequate analgesic control over a longer period of time, the use of a transdermal fentanyl patch seems to be a good option, with advantages over the traditional approach of placing a morphine PCA. Specifically, the aims of the study are: the evaluation of the decrease in the rate of rebound pain after locoregional techniques using a transdermal fentanyl patch after primary knee arthroplasty, as well as the evaluation of non-inferiority in terms of functional recovery, analgesic efficacy and adverse effects compared to morphine PCA. Methods: This will be a prospective observational cohort study, with a total N of 106 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty who meet the study inclusion criteria. The numerical pain rating scale score will be collected at 6,8,12,24 and 26h from which the "rebound pain score" will be calculated. The need for pharmacological rescue will be assessed as well as the appearance of adverse effects at 12, 24 and 36h and finally the QoR15 scale will be assessed at 36h.
