Effect of Dalcetrapib vs Placebo on CV Risk in a Genetically Defined Population With a Recent ACS

A placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, parallel group, phase III multicenter study in subjects recently hospitalized for ACS and with the appropriate genetic profile. Subjects will provide informed consent before any study-specific procedures are performed. Subject enrollment may begin in the hospital and will continue following release from the hospital. Screening procedures may be performed at the time of the index ACS event or anytime thereafter, with the condition that randomization must occur within the mandated window (4-12 weeks after the index event). Subjects will be assessed based on their medical history. Those who are likely to qualify will undergo Genotype Assay testing to evaluate genetic determination for the presence of AA genotype.

Use of Ticagrelor in Korean ACS Patients: The BRILIANT KOREA Registry

Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) require platelet inhibition after treatment. P2Y12 receptor blockage is a well-known, proved method of urgent and effective blockade of the platelet activation, and is applied to the current practice protocol. Ticagrelor is a well-performing P2Y12 receptor blocking agent which is used in these patients. In the same matter, it is essential to prescribe the exact dosage to optimize efficacy within the safety limits. However current studies are based on Western countries, whereas there has been no Ticagrelor patient registry in East-Asia. Thus it is reasonable to study the use of Ticagrelor in a large registry of Korean ACS patients. The BK registry is a Prospective, Open-label, Multi-center, Real world, Registry, with prospective registration of patients receiving the medication, Ticagrelor. All subjects are to be followed up for 18 months after diagnosis and treatment for ACS. The purpose of this study is to observe and register clinical data including Major Adverse Cardiovascular Endpoints and any total bleeding occurrence in Korean ACS patients treated with Ticagrelor during 18 month follow-up. Also, the purpose includes to determine compliance of Ticagrelor during post-approval commercial use and to determine prescription pattern of Ticagrelor during post-approval commercial use.

Aspirin Twice a Day in Patients With Diabetes and Acute Coronary Syndrome

To compare treatment with Aspirin Protect® twice a day (100 mg in the morning and 100 mg in the evening) versus Aspirin Protect® 100 mg once per day on a composite end-point of ischemic events in diabetic patients, or in patients with a known risk factor for non-optimal aspirin response (obesity, abdominal obesity or coronary event occurring with long-term aspirin),with acute coronary syndrome. It is expected that aspirin taken twice a day will reduce the occurrence of new ischemic event after acute coronary syndrome in diabetic patients or in patients with a known risk factor.

Bioresorbable Polymer ORSIRO Versus Durable Polymer RESOLUTE ONYX Stents

The introduction of drug-eluting stents (DES) in the treatment of coronary artery disease has led to a significant reduction in morbidity. However, the first generation of these devices had no positive impact on the mortality after PCI (compared to bare metal stents), which was greatly attributed to a somewhat increased incidence of late and very late stent thrombosis. Concerns about the role of durable polymers as a potential trigger of inflammation and finally adverse events also led to the development of DES with bioresorbable coatings, which leave after degradation of the coating only a bare metal stent in the vessel wall that does not induce an inflammatory response. While such bioresorbable polymer DES are increasingly used in clinical practice, data from head-to-head comparisons between bioresorbable polymer DES with a contemporary highly flexible new generation permanent polymer coated DES.

Assessment of Prospective CYP2C19 Genotype Guided Dosing of Anti-Platelet Therapy in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

This is a randomized, prospective, open label study to determine the cost-effectiveness of genotype-guided antiplatelet therapy. Patients undergoing percutaneous intervention (PCI) with stent implantation, will be randomized either to genotype guided dosing of antiplatelet therapy or usual care. The study utilizes a novel genotyping device, SpartanRx, to determine CYP2C19 genotypes from a buccal swab sample with 1 hour turnaround time.

This is a multicenter retrospective observational study with STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) patients who have been treated in the northern Galician Hospitals. The study tries to verify if the implantation of the PROGALIAM (Galician Assistance Program Acute Myocardial Infarction) has supposed a progress in the quality and expectancy of life of AMI patients in the north area of Galicia. The study will recruit STEMI patients according to the third consensus definition of myocardial infarction type I. It will include all patients who meet these criteria regardless of other demographic or clinical circumstances. There is not exclusion criteria defined for this population.
