It is aimed to investigate the effect of patient relatives who care for inpatients on the psychological well-being and care burden. A randomized controlled research design was used in the study. The population of the research is a country in Turkey between June and October 2023. The study consisted of patient relatives who provide care to patients in the palliative care clinic of the public hospital in the province. To research Relatives of patients who met the participation criteria and agreed to participate (control group, n=22; experimental group, n=22) constituted the sample. Data were collected from "Caregiver Introduction Form", "Psychological Well-Being Scale", "Caregiving Burden Scale" and "Virtual Reality Glasses". It was collected using the "Satisfaction Form". Before starting the research, a preliminary study was conducted with four patient relatives. of research In the implementation, firstly the preliminary application of the data collection tools was made. Then, the experimental group was given weekly Videos containing 360-degree images were watched using virtual reality glasses for 30 minutes for three days. Effects of Virtual Reality on Brain Hemodynamic Activity in Chronic Pain

Virtual reality systems have been applied in recent years to reduce pain intensity and fear of movement in individuals with acute and chronic pain. The main mechanism of virtual reality methods in pain control is to provide the effect of distraction from pain. Virtual reality systems allow the individuals to feel themselves in a different environment and shift their attention to the game they are playing or the virtual world created rather than the pain they feel. This is thought to be the main mechanism of pain control. However, the cortical mechanism of the reduction in pain caused by virtual reality methods, especially in individuals with chronic pain, has not been fully elucidated. It is predicted that the integration of virtual reality methods into treatment protocols will gradually increase by time, especially as a result of the reflection of technological developments in clinical practice. At this point, fNIRS, which enables the assessment of the functionality of brain areas during movement, has the potential to reveal the response of the effect provided by virtual reality technology in the prefrontal cortex. The aims of our study were to examine brain hemodynamic activity during the experience of non-immersive and immersive virtual reality environments and the change in pain intensity after virtual reality applications in individuals with rheumatic diseases with chronic pain.

A Novel Multisensory-Rhythmic Intervention in Geriatric Rehabilitation

Human performance takes shape from the dynamic interaction between person, environment, and task. Goal-directed action is a complex task, which requires the elderly to adapt their motor response according to the environment constraints and task requirements to accomplish the task goal. Among age-related problems, motor control deficits are often the main problems which restricts the frail elderly from maintaining independence for activities of daily living. Therefore, to preserve the quality of life, motor function of the elderly must be taken into consideration, including early detection of motor control problems and development of appropriate intervention strategy for persons with either healthy or pathological brain aging. Rhythmic skill training which is a new mode of dual tasks using rhythmic cueing as an external agent for facilitating an automatized motor task. During training, rhythmic skill training can provide multi-component of sensory stimulation, strengthen motor planning and optimize motor execution, therefore, it will improve the motor performance for the elderly or patients with mild cognitive impairment. In addition, the neuroplastic changes related to sensory processing, selective attention, or working memory demands through music rhythm training can facilitate the cognitive function for the elderly which is a current trend of geriatric rehabilitation. Moreover, the advantage of virtual reality is that it provides important information related to knowledge of result, which can induce better motor and cognitive training effects. Therefore, this research project will focus on assessing and intervening motor adaptation of upper extremity for the healthy elderly and patients with mild cognitive impairment. The first purpose of the project will analyze the difference in efficiency of responsive and predictive grasping motor adaptation among the healthy young adults, healthy elderly and patients with mild cognitive impairment through a test of perturbation-based of pinch-holding-up-activity, and use artificial intelligence for more accurate classification for the grasp pattern of healthy young adults, elderly and patients with mild cognitive impairment. The second one is to verify the effects of virtual-reality based rhythmic skill training system on the motor adaptation capability of upper limb and cognition for the elderly and patients with mild cognitive impairment.

To determine the effects of virtual reality application during trigger point injection on patients' pain, anxiety and comfort levels.This research was planned as a randomized controlled experimental type. The population of the research was planned to include patients who applied to the Algology polyclinic for trigger point injection. The sample of the research will consist of 150 patients who meet the sampling criteria and agree to participate in the research.Inclusion criteria: Trigger point injection applied for the first time, 18 years and over, understand and speak Turkish, understand verbal and written information given.Patients will be divided into two groups: experimental (virtual reality) and control groups.Data will be collected with the Case Report Form, State Anxiety Scale, General Comfort Scale and Visual Analog Scale.Patients' anxiety, comfort and pain levels will be evaluated before and after trigger point injection.

Purpose and Type of Research:This study will be conducted to examine the effect of virtual reality glasses on surgical fear and anxiety in patients scheduled for cardiovascular surgery. The study is a randomized controlled experimental research. Method:The population of the research was approximately 2900 patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery in a year at Dr. Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Education Research Hospital. The sample size of the study was calculated using the G*Power software program.The study will be completed with 60 people by taking 30 people into the experimental and control groups.Data will be collected with a personal information form, surgical fear scale and state anxiety scale. Hypothesis of the Research: H1: Application of virtual reality glasses reduces surgical fear in patients planned for cardiovascular surgery. H2: Application of virtual reality glasses reduces anxiety in patients scheduled for cardiovascular surgery.

The clinical practice environment for students is quite complex and practical applications are highly variable. Practical application areas do not offer effective and equal opportunities to meet the learning and application goals. There are also problems in theoretical education, and current teaching techniques cannot adequately support students' learning. In nursing education, it is recommended to use different teaching methods that strengthen students' skills. One of these methods is virtual reality simulation, which simulates real-life procedures. The investigators's aim in this project is to reveal the effect of the use of immersive virtual reality on the effectiveness of education in surgical nursing education through nursing care offered for a specific surgical procedure. With the laboratory setup, software tool(s), and the self-sufficient employees being able to use the software, via the capabilities gained through this project, it will be possible to carry out various types of virtual reality training activities by different departments of investigator's university without the need for out-sourcing. The investigators's advanced goal in this project is to transfer the nursing care specific to frequently applied surgical interventions to the immersive virtual reality environment.

The Impact of Virtual Reality and Kaleidoscope in Children During Vaccination

This study was designed to examine the effects of using virtual reality and kaleidoscope during routine vaccination in children aged 48 months on pain, fear, and anxiety. Children aged 48 months who were to receive the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine were randomized into three groups. Accordingly, the study sample consisted of a virtual reality group with 42 children, a kaleidoscope group with 42 children, and a control group with 42 children, totaling 126 children. Fear and pain were evaluated by both the researcher and the child before and after the procedure. Anxiety was assessed by the child after the procedure. The Wong Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale was used for pain, the Children's Fear Scale for fear, and the Child Anxiety Scale-State Version for anxiety.

The most commonly used method in the management of body compositions of healthy individuals in the recent times is the application of physical activity together with a healthy nutrition (diet). The application of diet together with physical activity cause significant changes in the body composition (fat ratio, muscle mass, lean body mass, etc.). Physical activity can be done with traditional physical activity methods as well as with virtual reality applications. Virtual reality is a simulation or a metaversal facet of a real environment created by a computer or various other electronic devices that allows one or more users to interact with certain elements in a simulated virtual frame through a human-machine interface. Virtual reality applications are generally classified as immersive and non-immersive virtual reality . Commercial games such as Sony Playstation, Microsoft Kinect Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii can be given as examples of non-immersive virtual reality . In order to preserve body composition, different exercise applications can be recommended in addition to the diet program. In the literature, many studies involving diet, physical activity or a combination of these two applications have been experimentally planned and carried out in a controlled manner. In these studies, moderate body weight loss (1-5 kg) was reported with only physical activity. It is a general opinion that diet therapy in addition to planned physical activity (exercise) provides more effective and healthier results than people who lose weight with only diet programs or only exercise. It has been stated in previous studies that body composition and physical fitness improve with virtual reality application as happened wih diet intervention. However, due to the fact that access to virtual reality applications is not very easy, longitudinal studies are needed to evaluate whether they should be included in general body composition and physical fitness improvement programs. At this point, the main purpose of this study is to compare and evaluate the effects of virtual reality applications and healthy nutrition program on improving body composition and physical fitness.

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the efficacy of REACH Firearm Safety in a sample of pediatric residents. The main question it aims to answer are: Do residents who have completed REACH Firearm Safety have increased documentation in the electronic medical records for screening and counseling for safe firearm storage? Participants will be asked to engage in a virtual reality curriculum (REACH Firearm Safety). Researchers will compare the REACH Firearm safety group to a group of participants who complete an abbreviated online training.
