NCT ID: NCT06442618 Recruiting - Tennis Elbow Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy and Nutraceutical Supplementation in the Treatment of Epicondylitis: a Clinical Trial

Start date: March 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Lateral epicondylitis is a pathologic condition of the musculotendinous system, characterized by the presence of pain at the lateral epicondyle of the humerus; it is a tendinopathy of the extensor muscles of the forearm, often caused by overuse or repetitive use of the arm, forced extension of the elbow, or direct trauma to the humeral epicondyle. This study evaluated the efficacy of Extracorporeal ShockWave Treatment (ESWT) combined with a supplemental nutraceutical treatment of Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, Vitamin C, and Manganese, compared with single treatment in patients with lateral epicondylitis in term of improvement in pain, functional capacity, muscle strength, and reduction of inflammation on ultrasound images. A clinical trial was conducted at the U.O.C. of "Recovery and Functional Rehabilitation" of A.O.U.P. "P. Giaccone" of Palermo from Marc 2024 to July 2024. Patients were randomized into 3 groups: in group "A", n° 5 sessions of focal ESWT were given every six days; in group "B", patients took daily for 30 days, supplemental nutraceutical treatment of Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, Vitamin C, and Manganese; and group "C", patients had combined treatment of ESWT (one session every six days for a total of five sessions) and nutraceutical supplementation (one administration per day for one month). All patients were evaluated at enrollment (T0), after one month, at the end of rehabilitation treatment (T1), and at a follow up 30 days after the end of treatment (T2). Researched will compare patients treated with ESWT or with nutraceutical treatment, and patients who had combined treatment to see if there are real differences in term of pain reduction and improved short- and long-term quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT06440928 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Epicondylitis of the Elbow

Results of Cervical Segmental Mobilization in Patients With Chronic Lateral Epicondylitis

Start date: May 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of cervical segmental mobilization on pain, functionality, grip strength and quality of life in patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis. It was planned as a randomized controlled experimental study.

NCT ID: NCT06382805 Recruiting - Physical Therapy Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Effects of Kinesio Tape and High-intensity Laser Therapy in Lateral Epicondylitis

Start date: May 2, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Lateral epicondylitis is a common upper extremity disease that occurs with tenderness in the lateral epicondyle, the common attachment point of the wrist extensor muscles, and pain during resisted wrist extension. The main purpose of treating lateral epicondylitis is to reduce pain and increase functionality, but there is no accepted standard treatment method. The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of kinesio tape and high intensity laser in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis.

NCT ID: NCT06271915 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Lateral Epicondylitis

Role of Cervical Spine Mobilization on Lateral Epicondylitis

Start date: February 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study's primary goal is to examine the effectiveness of Mulligan's technique in reducing hyperalgesia in lateral epicondylitis, focusing on cervical spine, while also investigating its influence on central sensitization in relation to lateral epicondylitis.

NCT ID: NCT06221514 Recruiting - Tennis Elbow Clinical Trials

Effect of Core Versus on Tennis Serve Velocity in Young Adult Tennis Players

Start date: January 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the effect of a 4-week core strengthening program on flat serve velocity in amateur young adult tennis players to a shoulder strengthening program. Participants will serve the tennis ball four times during the initial and final flat tennis serve assessments. Furthermore, participants will be divided into two groups and given different strengthening programs. Researchers will compare Group A (shoulder strengthening group) and Group B (core strengthening group) to see if there is any difference between the core and shoulder training programs on the flat serve velocity.

NCT ID: NCT06192927 Recruiting - Tennis Elbow Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of TenoMiR in Lateral Epicondylitis

Start date: April 10, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is testing a drug called TenoMiR that is being developed for the treatment of tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis). The study drug is a new compound that works by improving the quality of the collagen which helps repair damage to the elbow. The study drug is being developed in the hope of providing a more reliable treatment than those currently available and can be given at the time of first diagnosis, so that recovery can begin as soon as possible. The study drug has been tested in humans in an earlier study, and appeared to be safe and well-tolerated. This study aims to test the study drug in a larger number of participants.

NCT ID: NCT06116175 Recruiting - Tennis Elbow Clinical Trials

Lateral Epicondylitis Continuous Radiofrequency Microtenotomy

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

prospective study measuring the outcome of continuous radio frequency 60 degree on lateral epicondylitis not responding to traditional ultrasound guided injection

NCT ID: NCT06055491 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Lateral Epicondylitis of Elbow

Vitamin D3 Combined With Strengthening Exercise for Lateral Epicondylitis of Elbow

Start date: September 25, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to verify the effect of vitamin D3 combined with extensor muscle strengthening exercise in lateral epicondylitis of elbow Are there significant differences in the improvement of functional scores between the study and control groups? Are there significant differences in the improvement of sonographic findings and blood D3 levels between the study and control groups? Participant will underwent D3 injection or saline injection and extensor muscle strengthening exercise with counter force brace. All the participant will undergo functional scoring, sonographic examination and blood D3 level testings until 6 months after initial visit.

NCT ID: NCT06040203 Recruiting - Tennis Elbow Clinical Trials

Leukocyte-rich PRP or Leukocyte-free PRP vs Placebo in the Treatment of Epicondylitis

Start date: March 23, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The EPIC-PRP study is a double-blind randomized controlled clinical trial with 1:1:1 allocation. The objective of the study is to evaluate by means of a randomized controlled, double-blind clinical trial the clinical outcomes of echo-guided injection of PRP with or without leukocytes compared with echo-guided injection of saline for minimally invasive treatment of patients with epicondylitis resistant to conservative therapy. It will be the aim of the study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the injection procedures by revealing the improvement and incidence of adverse events following treatment

NCT ID: NCT06025565 Recruiting - Tendinopathy Clinical Trials

Measuring Pain Experience in Individuals With Lateral Elbow Tendinopathy

Start date: August 18, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study will address the gaps in the pain experience measurement in those with lateral elbow tendinopathy (LET) by building on the current body of literature, as well as applying modern pain science measures. The comprehensive measurement of various biomedical, psychological, and psychosocial constructs will provide pain profiles that will allow for the subclassification of LET to better inform loading prescriptions based on the systemic effects from LET.
