This is a quantitative analysis of prospective clinical data. It evaluates the management of pelvic pain in a cohort population, and analyzes the treatment outcome.

A Prospective, Non-interventional, Observational Study of Presentation, Treatment Patterns and Outcomes in Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome Patients

This is a China, non-interventional, observational study and will follow the Good Phar-macoepidemiology Practices guidelines. This study will enrol paediatric and adult patients diagnosed with aHUS who will be treated according to routine clinical practice defined by local institutional treatment guidelines/protocol. Those aHUS patients who will be treated with a supportive therapy, which does not contain eculizumab, will be monitored for up to 12 months since the ini-tial diagnosis. Patients initiated on eculizumab treatment anytime between aHUS diagno-sis until 12 months will be followed for additional 12 months, starting from the ecu initia-tion. Patient disposition, characteristics, outcomes and safety will be described for all pa-tients enrolled into this study

First Rib Resection Versus Avulsion for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

The management of thoracic outlet syndrome can be either surgical or nonsurgical. Fewer than 20% of patients experience benefits from nonsurgical treatments. Regarding the surgical approach, there's considerable debate about whether to resect the first rib or if a scalenectomy alone suffices. Recently, many experts have concurred on the resection of the first rib. Based on our observations, avulsion of the first rib results in improved outcomes and reduced post-operative pain compared to simple resection. Thus, this study aims to compare the outcomes of first rib resection versus its avulsion in patients with thoracic outlet syndrome.

Physical Exercise as a Sustainability Tool in Men With Dysmetabolic Hypogonadism

Aim of this project is to delineate sustainable physical exercise programs and to assess the effects of such programs mainly on endocrine-metabolic and neurovegetative outcomes in a cohort of men with metabolic syndrome-related late-onset central hypogonadism. Participants will undergo a personalised exercise program. After 6 months they will be subdivided into two groups, according to the weekly physical activity volume actually performed (above or below 600 MET·minutes/week). Changes in endocrine-metabolic and neurovegetative outcomes will be compared between the two groups.

Subacromial Pain Syndrome and Graded Motor Imagery

Graded motor imagery (GMI): used successfully in chronic, complex and painful clinical conditions accompanied by many pain and movement problems; It is a treatment, education and rehabilitation process that is based on recently obtained scientific data and current clinical studies, is individually adapted and approaches the individual holistically with a biopsychosocial model. Nowadays, it is frequently used in the treatment of some neurological diseases. In addition, these approaches are also used in the treatment of some orthopedic diseases including chronic pain. There are a limited number of studies in which the mentioned approaches are used together in stages, and the stages are mostly used alone. There is only one study in the literature on subacromial pain syndrome (SAS), which is the most common cause of shoulder pain and causes radiator cuff problems. Stage 2 SAS patients were included in the study and only one phase of GMI treatment was used in addition to the traditional physiotherapy program. Despite these positive results in favor of GMI, the fact that there is no study using the entire GMI treatment in SAS shows us that a randomized controlled and blinded study with high evidence value should be conducted on this subject. In addition, determining the effect of GMI on changes in central nervous system such as fear of pain, two-point discrimination, and left/right lateralization speed and accuracy task will help fill the literature gaps on this subject. In the light of this information, the question of planned master's thesis study is the effect of GMI treatment applied in addition to traditional physiotherapy in SAS on pain level, joint range of motion, functionality, pain-related fear, two-point discrimination and left/right lateralization speed and accuracy compared to only traditional physiotherapy. whether it is superior or not.

A Natural History Study Seeks to Understand the Clinical, Genomic, Pharmacological, Laboratory, and Dietary Determinates of Pyrimidine and Purine Metabolism Disorders

Background: Pyrimidine and purine metabolism disorders (DPPMs) affect how the body metabolizes chemicals called pyrimidines and purines. DPPMs can cause dysfunctions throughout the body, especially in the brain, blood, kidneys, and immune system. People with DPPMs might have no symptoms, mild symptoms, or they may have severe, chronic symptoms, that can be fatal. DPPMs are not well understood, and researchers want to learn more about what causes them and how to treat them. Objective: To learn more about factors that affect DPPMs by comparing test results from affected, uaffected family members, and healthy people. Eligibility: Three types of participants are needed: people aged 1 month and older with DPPMs; their family members who do not have DPPMs; and healthy volunteers. Design: Participants with DPPMs will come to the clinic once a year; some may be asked to come more often. At each visit, all affected participants will have a physical exam and give samples of blood, urine, saliva, and stool. Depending on their symptoms, they may also have other procedures, such as: Swabs of their skin and inside the mouth. Tests of their heart, kidney, brain, and nerve function. Questionnaires about what they eat. Dental exams, and exams of their hearing and vision. Tests of their learning ability. Monitoring of their physical activity. Imaging scans. Photographs of their face and body. These tests may be spread over up to 7 days. Affected participants may remain in the study indefinitely if they wish to. Healthy volunteers and family members will have 1 study visit. They will have a physical exam and may be asked to give blood, urine, saliva, and stool samples.

Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training in Post-Covid Syndrome

Patients with post-Covid-19 syndrome are at high risk of developing cardiovascular diseases 12 months after acute infection of COVID-19. We recently revealed that these patients have elevated muscular sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA), vascular dysfunction, impaired cardiac diastolic function, and reduced functional capacity. Considering that these outcomes are independent predictors of cardiovascular mortality, it is urgent to restore the cardiovascular health of these patients. High resistance inspiratory muscle strength training (IMST) at 75% of pressure inspiratory (PImax) performed at home (5 min/session, 5-7 times/week per 6 weeks) reduces the MSNA, improves the endothelial function and lowers blood pressure in different populations. Based on these findings, IMST (75% PImax) is an excellent therapeutic option for patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome. Therefore, the aim of the present proposal is to test whether IMST (75% PImax) reduces sympathetic activity, improves vascular function, and restores cardiac function, evoking an increase in functional capacity in patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome. To test these hypotheses we will conduct a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled clinical trial to test these hypotheses.
