The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), is the only movable joint between the joints in the head and neck system. It is a component of the chewing system and is involved in important functions such as speech, swallowing, taste and breathing. Temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) is the general name given to various musculoskeletal problems seen in the stomatognathic system, mostly affecting the masticatory muscles and/or TMJ. TMD is the second most common musculoskeletal pain after chronic low back pain. Patients with TMD may also complain of other musculoskeletal problems, craniocervical problems, sleep problems, and anxiety disorders. The aim of this study is to investigate, compare and examine the relationship between neck dysfunction, headache and temporomandibular dysfunction severity, anxiety and sleep quality in female individuals.

Vitamin D and Sleep Disorders in Pregnancy

Lack of sleep and poor sleep quality in pregnant women are associated with maternal depression and cognitive-sensual irregularities. These irregularities were reported worsening women's life quality and even increasing suicide ideation. It is also associated with obstetrical complications such as fetal growth deficiency, preterm birth, prolonged labor, preeclampsia and increased abdominal delivery frequency.Vitamin D also may affect the sleep indirectly through the cases with nonspecific pains. It was reported that vitamin D levels are correlated with sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea and restless legs syndrome. The primary purpose of this study is to examine sleep disorders and vitamin D levels in pregnant women, and also, secondarily, vitamin D - anxiety and sleep disorders - anxiety relations were assessed.

Case-control Study of Sleep Disorders in Children With Cystic Fibrosis

Our primary purpose is to compare the prevalence of sleep disorders in children aged 6 to 17 with cystic fibrosis versus controls with a Sleep disorder screening score, the SDSC. Our hypothesis is that patients aged 6 to 17 with cystic fibrosis have a higher prevalence of sleep disturbances than the general population of the same age group. Our secondary hypothesis is that these sleep disorders are mixed and that there are non-respiratory causes, sometimes modifiable by simple non-medical treatment and that's why our secondary purpose is to identify the responsible factors, in particular non-respiratory factors in the 2 groups and to compare them.

Polar stays expose people to extreme climate, isolation and confinement. The combination of these factors induces psychological disorders, sleep disorders, immune and endocrine disturbances, and deficiencies. In the TAAF, (French Southern and Antarctic Lands) two types of population coexist: winter residents, exposed to these stressors over long periods, and country people, who benefit from milder conditions and only make short stays. In this context, the investigators have decided to set up this cohort study with the objective of comparing the state of health of the winterers of the TAAF from 2012 to 2017 with that of the country people of the same period, before their stay, during and the year following their return.

In the past few years, research has provided evidence for a possibility of dampening immune system by one's will after undergoing a specific training program. Aim of this study was to verity the efficacy in affecting both mind and body by assessing psoriasis activity and psychological functioning. Among the members of both of the groups intensity of skin lesions and pruritus were assessed, consultation regarding treatment took place and multiple questionnaires regarding sleep quality, mindfulness and depressive symptoms were distributed. Blood samples were collected to asses intensity of inflammation, including interleukins.

Prognostic Impact of Sleep Disorders in Patients : Pro-TSIC Study

Heart failure (HF) is a common and progressive condition associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Only 25-35% of patients survive 5 years after diagnosis.Sleep disorders are frequently found in this population with up to 94% of patients complaining of sleep disorders. Of these, insomnia and sleep disorders are the most common. The frequency of restless legs syndrome (RLS) varies between 4 and 40% depending on the studies. Patients with HF frequently experience poor sleep quality which is associated with deterioration in quality of life, alertness, and mood. Few studies have examined the prognostic impact of sleep disturbances in this population. A greater morbidity and mortality is observed in the event of poor quality sleep or in the presence of sleep breathing disorders . The investigators therefore propose to evaluate the sleep disorders of patients with HF by self-administered questionnaires, hypothesizing that complaints of poor sleep are linked to a poorer cardiovascular prognosis.
