Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Using Optical Breast Spectroscopy (OBS)

This study aims to evaluate if a light based technique, called Optical Breast Spectroscopy (OBS) formerly known as Transillumination Breast Spectroscopy (TiBS), can be used to detect differences in breast tissue between high- and low-risk populations and within the high-risk population between BrCa1 or 2 carriers and non-carriers. These differences may include differences in breast tissue composition and metabolism at time of enrollment into the study (possibly reflecting changes occurring in adolescence) and in the rate of breast tissue change over time (possibly reflecting rate of tissue transformation from normal to ultimately malignant state).

This is a Phase III, global, randomized, open-label, multicenter, study evaluating the efficacy and safety of adjuvant giredestrant compared with endocrine therapy of physician's choice in participants with medium- and high-risk Stage I-III histologically confirmed estrogen receptor (ER)-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative early breast cancer. In addition, an open-label exploratory substudy will explore the safety and efficacy of giredestrant in combination with abemaciclib in a subset of the primary study population.

A Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Multiple Treatment Combinations in Participants With Breast Cancer

A Phase Ib/II, Open-Label, Multicenter, Randomized Umbrella Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Multiple Treatment Combinations in Patients With Breast Cancer (MORPHEUS- Breast Cancer)

This is a Phase Ib/II, open-label, multicenter, randomized umbrella study in participants with breast cancer. Cohort 1 will focus on participants with inoperable, locally advanced or metastatic, estrogen receptor (ER)-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer who had disease progression during or following treatment with a cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i; e.g., palbociclib, ribociclib, abemaciclib) in the first- or second-line setting. Cohort 2 will focus on inoperable, locally advanced or metastatic, ER-positive, HER2-positive breast cancer with previous progression to standard-of-care anti-HER2 therapies, of which one was a trastuzumab-and-taxane-based systemic therapy (including in the early setting if recurrence occurred within 6 months of finishing adjuvant therapy) and one was a HER2-targeting antibody-drug conjugate (ADC; e.g., ado-trastuzumab emtansine or trastuzumab-deruxtecan) or a HER2-targeting tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI; e.g., tucatinib, lapatinib, pyrotinib or neratinib). The study is designed with the flexibility to open new treatment arms as new treatments become available, close existing treatment arms that demonstrate minimal clinical activity or unacceptable toxicity, or modify the patient population. During Stage 1, participants in each cohort will be randomly assigned to treatment arms. Participants in the control or experimental arms who experience unacceptable toxicity, disease progression as determined by the investigator according to RECIST v1.1, or loss of clinical benefit as determined by the investigator during Stage 1 will be given the option of receiving a different treatment combination during Stage 2, provided they meet eligibility criteria and a treatment arm is open for enrollment. No Stage 2 treatment is currently available.

Use of a Remifentanil-propofol Mixture in Patients With Breast Cancer Undergoing Breast Cancer Surgery: a Prospective Pilot Study

Co-administration of propofol and remifentanil is considered to be an ideal total intravenous anesthesia technique, which is widely used in induction and maintenance of general anesthesia. Remifentanil and propofol can be mixed in polypropylene syringes for one hour with a remaining concentration of 91% in small concentrations of remifentanil. However, delivery of remifentanil-propofol mixture by target-controlled infusion(TCI) for general anesthesia in surgical procedure has not been described. Breast cancer surgery ( including modified radical mastectomy and breast-conserving surgery) is a less time-consuming procedure for patients with breast cancer with one-hour duration in our hospital. This pilot study was to examine the merit of remifentanil-propofol mixture as a GA regimen for breast cancer surgery.

Targeting Insomnia to Enhance Hot Flush Treatment in Women Receiving Therapy for Breast Cancer or Breast Cancer Risk-Reduction

RATIONALE: Venlafaxine may be effective in relieving hot flashes caused by hormone therapy. Giving venlafaxine with zolpidem (a sleeping pill) may improve sleep and quality of life in women who are receiving hormone therapy for treatment or prevention of breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying giving venlafaxine together with zolpidem to see how well it works compared to venlafaxine alone in relieving hot flashes and associated sleep disorders in women who are receiving hormone therapy to treat or prevent breast cancer.

Prospective Clinical Utility / Decision Support Study of an AI-enabled Digital Breast Cancer Test (Precise Dx Breast, PDxBRTM) to Predict Early-stage Breast Cancer Recurrence Within 6 Years

The investigator's developed a digital LDT to predict invasive breast cancer (IBC) recurrence within 6 years by combining histologic features extracted from an H&E image of the patients IBC with clinical data including the patients age, tumor size, stage and number of positive lymph nodes. The development of an artificial-intelligent (AI)-grade provides not only an objective, quantitative advancement of classical breast cancer grading but also improves upon the accuracy and utility of clinical risk. The investigator's sought to understand how such a PreciseDx Breast would be used in clinical practice post-surgical resection for women with early-stage IBC.
