Benefit of Acupuncture Combined to Regional Analgesia for Post Operative Pain Relief After Hysterectomy
Since the 90's, the quality of the post operative pain relief is a main concern in most of the healthcare systems in the world. An efficient pain relief improves the quality of recovery after surgery [Level 1A], reduces the risk of persistent pain [level 1A] and makes the patients satisfied. Continuous regional anesthesia/analgesia promotes a level 1A in quality of postoperative pain relief, reduction in opioids consumption in opioid sparing/free analgesia programs, time to recover and the reduction of hospital stay. However in the postoperative period, breakthrough pain episodes due to mobilization or activity are not well covered by regional analgesia. Furthermore, after removal of the catheter of regional anesthesia, patients may face an unpleasant rebound pain effect. At VinMec, the technique of regional anesthesia chosen to provide regional analgesia after hysterectomy is a bilateral erector spinae plane block . Traditional Medicine relieves pain by non-pharmacological methods, especially by acupuncture which bring positive results. Acupuncture has been proven to provide pain relief according to the mechanism of traditional and modern medicine, safe for patients and with few side effects. The acupunture point formula is used by VinMec Sao Phuong Dong Traditional Medicine Center in conjunction with the department of Anesthesiology and Pain management in VinMec Times City International General Hospital to relieve pain after hysterectomy including: Three Yin Intersection (SP-6), Leg Three Miles (ST-36), Taichong (LR-3), Xuehai (SP-10). The study is to observe the effect of combining acupuncture with regional anesthesia on pain relief and postoperative recovery in patients undergoing hysterectomy. There is no published study regarding the effects of combining the 2 techniques above as multimodal approach for post operative analgesia after hysterectomy.

Immediate Analgesic Effects of Cheek Acupuncture for Acute Gouty Arthritis
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the immediate analgesic effect and patients' evaluation of the treatment of cheek acupuncture in patients with acute gouty arthritis. The main question it aims to answer are: Does cheek acupuncture has immediate pain relief effects on patients with acute gouty arthritis. Participants will received cheek acupuncture for 30 mins. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare etoricoxib group to see if cheek acupuncture is superior to etoricoxib for improvement of acute pain in subjects with acute gouty arthritis.

Effect of Head Acupuncture on Residual Symptoms After Canalith Repositioning Procedure for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo: a Single-center Randomized Controlled Trial.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common peripheral vestibular disorder, and currently, manual repositioning techniques are often used for treatment. However, up to 30%-50% of patients may experience residual symptoms such as non-rotational dizziness, heaviness, instability, and emotional disturbances even after successful repositioning, which significantly impacts their daily functioning and quality of life. Electroacupuncture therapy has been proven to be an effective treatment for dizziness and has been applied to various vestibular disorder patients. However, the efficacy of electroacupuncture on the residual effects of successfully repositioned BPPV patients remains unclear. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of three regimens: electroacupuncture, betahistine in patients with residual symptoms after successful manual repositioning.

The Effects of Acupuncture on the Natural Pregnancy in Patients With Recurrent Abortion: a Randomized Prospective Trial
Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a common pregnancy complication in women of reproductive age and the cause of RSA remains largely unclear. Acupuncture is widely used in clinical practice to treat infertility and abortion. The role of acupuncture in the treatment of infertility is still unclear. The investigators conducted a randomized, prospective, controlled clinical trial to investigate its potential impact on pregnancy outcome. Herein, the investigators not only evaluated the changes in patients' psychological stress before and after treatment but also followed up on pregnancy outcomes. In addition, changes in uterine artery blood flow were observed by ultrasound. Changes in coagulation-related indicators were also detected.

Auricular Acupuncture As Part Of A Multimodal Analgesic Regimen For Reduction Of Opioid Analgesic Use After Surgery To Repair Lower Leg Fractures- A Randomized Controlled Trial
The purpose is to find out if incorporation of an intraoperative electro auricular acupuncture protocol when added to a standard multimodal analgesic regimen for patients undergoing surgery to repair lower leg fracture under spinal anesthesia will help reduce postoperative opioid use.

Study on the Effect Mechanism of Acupuncture Combined With Swallowing Training to Regulate the Cortical Swallowing Network in Oral Dysphagia of Stroke
Up to 84% of patients after stroke are accompanied by dysphagia, of which 53% are oral dysphagia. The oral phase is the initial phase of swallowing activity and the only stage of swallowing that is completely discretionary. Swallowing activity in the oral stage is not only related to the formation and push of food pellets, but also affects the continuity between the transition from spontaneous swallowing to the swallowing reflex.

Acupuncture For Prevention Of Postoperative Nausea And Vomiting In Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy - A Randomized Controlled Trial
The purpose is to find out if intraoperative acupuncture performed by needling PC 6 and LI4 point bilaterally, and Yin Tang point will help reduce the incidence postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy when added to a prophylactic regimen consisting of ondansetron and dexamethasone. The hypothesis is that the addition of this acupuncture treatment to ondansetron and dexamethasone given for prophylaxis will help reduce the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy when compared to patients receiving ondansetron and dexamethasone without acupuncture.

Auricular Acupuncture As Part Of A Multimodal Regimen For Reduction Of Opioid Analgesic Use After Distal Radius Open Reduction and Internal Fixation- A Randomized Controlled Trial
This randomized controlled trial will test the hypothesis that patients receiving an intraoperative auricular acupuncture protocol will require less postoperative opioid analgesic use compared to those who do not receive acupuncture in the setting of a multimodal analgesic protocol for patients receiving surgery to repair distal radius fractures at a Level 1 trauma center under brachial plexus anesthesia with sedation.

The Efficacy of Acupuncture and Laser Acupuncture in Treating Chemotherapy or Target Therapy-induced Hand-foot Syndrome
Chemotherapy or target therapy-induced hand-foot syndrome in cancer patients affects the quality of life. At present, there is no better treatment for this side effect of chemotherapy or target therapy. In severe cases, it is necessary to reduce the dose of chemotherapy or target therapy, which may affect the progress and effect of chemotherapy. In recent years, acupuncture has been widely used for many side effects of chemotherapy, such as numbness of hands and feet, gastrointestinal discomfort, and dizziness. There have been many studies have proved to be effective, but quite few studies explored the acupuncture treatment improves the hand-foot syndrome caused by chemotherapy or target therapy in cancer patients. Therefore, the investigators expect to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture, and applying acupuncture or laser acupuncture to improve hand-foot syndrome caused by chemotherapy or target therapy in cancer patients in the future.
