Filter by:Research Hypothesis: Living conditions during COVID-19, and lockdowns and curfews impact the psychological state of patients (assessed by the degree of depression, positive and negative thoughts, insomnia, state of post-traumatic stress).
After developing and pilot testing the training program, including the CogBals software, a 3-arm, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial is used to recruit 84 participants and then randomly allocated to the cognitive and balance dual task training group (COG&BAL), the balance training group (BAL), and the treatment as usual group. The first two training groups (COG&BAL, BAL) receive training for 60 minutes in a group format, 2 times weekly, for 12 weeks. All participants will be assessed at baseline and posttest. The primary outcome is balance function and secondary outcomes are cognitive functions and the muscular endurance of lower extremities.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality, not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or of infirmity. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships [...]". The main objective is to show that a training intervention intended for psychiatric care teams and targeted on the question of the impact of psychiatric disorders and psychotropic drugs on the sexuality of young people, increases the proportion of young people with whom the question of sexual health is discussed (in connection with psychiatric disorders and, if applicable, with the taking of psychotropic treatment, while they are hospitalized for a psychiatric disorder in the clinics of the FSEF and receive, or not, psychotropic treatment ).
This observational study assesses whether the use of the QPGE has an impact on the rates of isolation and mechanical restraint in adult psychiatric admission units. It is supplemented by a qualitative survey that will collect the experience of caregivers using the QPGE.
Our study aims to lay the basis for a predictive modeling service for postoperative complications and prolonged hospital stay in patients suffering from psychiatric diseases undergoing colorectal surgery. Furthermore, we aim to investigate the impact of preoperative Risk factors, psychiatric and psychosomatic diseases on the outcomes of colorectal surgery and the complications after colorectal surgeries like anastomosis insufficiency via predictive modeling techniques The service mentioned above will be publicly available as a web-based application
For the clinical component: Describe the young people hospitalised in residential care at the FSEF, in particular through vulnerability factors and their psychosocial repercussions (school level, repetition, intensity of symptoms, irritability, nervousness, substance use (cannabis, alcohol, tobacco), social relationships, family relationships, well-being, level of health literacy, learning disorders)) and to compare them with young people from the general school population. For the epidemiological aspect: To study the construct validity of the EnCLASS questions aiming to characterize handicap situations in the general school population in both a population in situation of psychic handicap and of somatic handicap.
For patients undergoing a psychiatric crisis, hospitalisation is required. In developing countries specially in sub-urban or rural areas, most patients don't access intensive care. In India, AYUSH system of medical care is widely used, including crisis resolution and community treatment have been widely implemented in various mental health systems. However, evidence to support their effectiveness has remained very low. Present study is designed as community based participatory research, where Ayurveda treatment , a short-term, specialised, crisis intervention is provided by community outreach team.
Sleep disorders commonly co-occur with psychiatric disorders. Sleep disorders are often treated with medication or not at all in psychiatric care, although there exist a plethora of documentation of the effectiveness of sleep interventions. There is also an increase in studies showing effectiveness of sleep-interventions when the sleep disorder co-occurs with psychiatric illness. The recommended treatment for Delayed Sleep-Wake phase disorder is light therapy at gradually advanced timing and/or melatonin administered in order to help phase-advance the circadian rhythm. There is a great gap in the knowledge on how sleep disorders can be treated effectively when they occur comorbid to moderate and severe psychiatric illness. In this project the we therefore seek to investigate the effect of psychological and behavioural, group-based treatment in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) where sleep and psychiatric symptoms are the primary outcome measures.
The COVID-19 pandemic represents the most serious global health threat since the Spanish influenza, with repercussions on physical and mental health. The balance between physical and mental state is essential when establishing treatment for a critically ill patient and must be taken into account by health professionals. Therefore, the investigators hypothesize that there is an association between the severity of the clinical picture of COVID-19 and psychiatric morbidity. Objective. Associate the severity of the clinical picture of COVID-19 with psychiatric morbidity. Material and method. Hospitalized participants in the COVID respiratory area at the General Hospital of the Zone will be included. # 51 of Gómez Palacio, Dgo. in the period from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. This is an epidemiological, observational, prospective, longitudinal, analytical study. Sociodemographic, clinical and psychiatric evaluation data will be obtained using GMHAT / PC. A statistical analysis will be carried out using descriptive statistics (frequencies, measures of central tendency and dispersion) and analytical, to evaluate the association (Chi2) and to evaluate the effect of the intervening variables (binary logistic regression and multivariate regression). The data will be analyzed in the SPSS version 21 program.
This is an assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial. A total of 110 women victims of domestic violence aged 18-65 years will be recruited from local community centers and domestic violence shelters (refugee centers). They will be randomly assigned to routine care combined with (n = 55) and without (n = 55) additional acupuncture (TEAS+DCEAS) for 12 weeks. Acupuncture therapy will be conducted with 2 DCEAS sessions at clinics and 3 TEAS sessions at home each week. The primary outcome is the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) for depression. Secondary outcomes include the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) for depression, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) for stress, PTSD Check List-Civilian Version (PCL-C) for PTSD symptoms, Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) for sleep and 12-Item Short Form Survey (SF-12) for quality of life. Two 10-ml blood samples will be drawn respectively at baseline and at the end of 12-week study. A generalized linear mixed-effect model will be applied to compare treatment outcomes over time in the two groups and linear regression will be conducted to examine inter-correlations among clinical improvement and changes in biomarker levels.
