Filter by:An informational evaluation of COVID-19 patients who receive low-level laser therapy in addition to a normal regimen of treatment for symptoms associate with COVID-19. Results are compared to statistical observations published in literature from patients receiving standard care for COVID-19 symptoms without low-level laser therapy.

Techfields Inc. is developing a new investigational prodrug as a topical spray, indicated for relief of the signs and symptoms of ARDS and pneumonia caused by COVID-19. This is a Phase 2, Multicenter, Randomized, Double-blind (Within Dose), Placebo-controlled, Parallel-group, and Dose-range-finding Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Active drug Versus Placebo in Treatments for COVID-19 in Hospitalized Adults, relieving of the signs and symptoms of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pneumonia caused by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase 1b study evaluates the safety and tolerability, and effects on cytokine and acute phase reactants of SP16, an anti-inflammatory drug, in patients with pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 infection. The study will enroll up to 20 patients and each eligible patient will be randomized to receive either one of two doses of SP16 (6 mg or 12 mg) or placebo by subcutaneous injection.
The study plans to randomize a total of 240 patients infected with Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia to receive beta-lactam (meropenem, cefepime, or piperacillin/tazobactam) continuous or intermittent infusion and collect baseline and regular follow-up respiratory cultures to assess the development of new resistance. The investigators will measure beta-lactam concentration to assess the impact of drug exposure on the bacterial resistance.
The purpose of this study is to find out whether the drug uproleselan can help patients with severe COVID-19 pneumonia. Investigators will study both the side effects of the drug and assess if the drug will help patients recover more quickly and slow down the progression of acute respiratory failure.
Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Two Different Ventilatory Strategies in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Due to Community-acquired Pneumonia. The control strategy will be based on ARDSNet approach. The intervention group will receive a different ventilatory strategy based on positive end-expiratory pressure tailored according to compliance and limited driving pressure.

Investigators will recruit patients suspected of community-acquired pneumonia at Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen, into a pragmatic randomized controlled trial to assess if provision of ultra-rapid, high-quality accurate molecular diagnostics with direct feedback to the clinician can facilitate pathogen-directed usage of antibiotics, shorten antibiotic exposure and admission time and is safe. Additionally, transcriptional and immune marker profiling of patients will guide appropriate management through a targeted focus on the individual patient's physical capacity, nutritional status and co- morbidities. The pragmatic design of this trial together with broad inclusion criteria and a straightforward intervention would make our results generalisable to other similar centres.
The purpose of this study is to determine if an investigational drug, AT-100, is safe and tolerated by adults who have severe corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) or respiratory failure secondary to severe community acquired pneumonia.
