Filter by:The primary purpose of this project is to observe the effects of Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy-based weight-loss mobile application (Bi' Kilo) in 4 essential areas (Anthropometric, Biochemical, Psychometric, Cognitive) in overweight and obese individuals and to test whether these effects will persist after ten weeks. In this context, the original value of the proposed study is that a mobile application will be produced that is suitable for the culture and whose effectiveness has been scientifically proven. In our current project proposal, the measurements of the participants will be evaluated holistically together with both tests and inventories, as well as physical measurements and biochemical data. In this study, the usability of the mobile application to be developed will also be evaluated and reported. The study group of the research will consist of overweight and obese individuals. The first stage will be a pilot study to identify the shortcomings of the Bi'Kilo mobile application. After eliminating the deficiencies of the Bi' Kilo mobile application, a working group will be formed in the second phase of the research. At this stage, the sample will be divided into two different groups within the scope of the study and a study group and a control group will be formed. The study consists of three phases as preparation, implementation, and follow-up. Measurements of the participants will be made at the beginning (Anthropometric, Biochemical, Psychometric, Cognitive), at the end of the six-week implementation phase (Anthropometric), and at the end of the four-week follow-up phase (Anthropometric, Biochemical, Psychometric, Cognitive).
BACKGROUND GLP1 booster (GB) was designed to stimulate the endogenous production of GLP1, which in turn releases insulin, controls blood glucose level, suppresses appetite and thus helps people lose weight. PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to assess several clinical endpoints and questionnaires in healthy volunteers taking the new GB formula. SCOPE The scope of this protocol covers the non-clinical portion as well as the assessment of several clinical endpoints and questionnaires. In brief, the non-clinical design will be an open-label study involving volunteers taking GB everyday for 12 weeks. Data analysis will involve measuring the clinical endpoints across the group at different timepoints.
The goal of this intervention study is to evaluate the efficacy in subjects with overweight or obesity of protein bars consumption. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does the regular consumption of these protein bars help to loose weight? - Does the regular consumption of these protein bars help to improve the osteoarticular health? Participants will be asked to follow the indications of consumption of the bars togather with healthy nutritional advice during 16 weeks. Researchers will compare exparimental Versus placebo groups to see if weight is lost in similar or different ways.
Metabolic syndrome and resulting downstream health effects remains a growing health concern. In published trials, the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) assists behavioral changes efforts, leading to improved adherence and results from diet and exercise changes in individuals with obesity. Mobile health (mHealth) platforms provide satisfactory, easy-to-use tools that help participants in the pursuit of weight change goals. The investigators hypothesize that the use of CGM data and targeted coaching and nutrition education will assist with weight optimization goals in the general (non-diabetic) population using the Signos mHealth platform, with associated health benefits.
In recent years, the planetary health diet proposed by the EAT-Lancet Commission has underscored the importance of massive changes to healthy eating on a global scale to prevent environmental degradation. Diet management helps individuals control their food consumption, and this can be supported by the availability of technology through mobile applications. The use of mobile applications considers several aspects such as convenience, comfort, and self-management efficiency in maintaining food consumption. By using an application with the latest features related to diet management, which is equipped with dietary education features, gas emissions, and calculating environmental impacts, it allows users to increase self-awareness to reduce gas emissions from food consumption. Therefore, developing recommendations for a balanced nutritional diet, healthy lifestyle, calculating diet quality, and greenhouse gas emission in one application that is presented in one easy step is an important point in providing comprehensive information for a wider range of potential users. The main objective of this study is to assess the differences in changes in body weight, BMI, waist circumference, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure between the group that was given education on a planetary health diet with calorie restriction and a healthy lifestyle and the group that received education on a balanced diet with calorie restriction and a healthy lifestyle in adults using the 3rd generation of EatsUp mobile application. We will conduct a 24-week intervention for overweight and obese adults.
Semaglutide is a medication approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an antihyperglycemic (a drug that reduces glucoses in those with diabetes) and for weight management. This new study will help find out what effects, semaglutide has on people who take the drug and the drug's effect on physical function, body composition, and aging.
In a randomized controlled trial we will research the effect of calorie restriction with early and mid-day time-restricted eating (TRE) and daily calorie restriction on weight loss and human health parameters. Participants will be divided into three groups: early time-restriction group (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), mid-day restriction group (1:00 PM to 9:00 PM) and daily calorie restriction group (8:00 AM to 9:00 PM). Participants will follow dietary strategy with three planned meals and calorie restriction. Anthropometrical and biochemical parameters will be measured at baseline, after one month, two months and at after three months of intervention. Resting metabolic rate, ultrasound scan of abdomen and ultrasound scan of carotid arteries will be measured at baseline and after three months of intervention. In addition, stool samples will be also taken at baseline and after three months of intervention.
In recent times, the prevalence of obesity increases, reaching an epidemic scale. Elevated body weight is a risk factor in the development of several diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer. Therefore, obesity management solutions, such as diet therapy are needed. The key issue is to choose the most appropriate diet to obtain an efficient outcome in losing weight, without experiencing adverse effects and a decrease in general health. A ketogenic diet, an auxiliary therapy for epilepsy, is recently one of the options commonly used for losing weight by overweight individuals, tempted by the commercials and internet influencers. However, there is limited knowledge about the effect of this diet on human health. To date, the majority of studies were conducted with a very-low-calorie regime applied before the bariatric surgeries, which itself may affect the loss of body weight, and in most studies, the control diets were missing. Taking into consideration that a ketogenic diet is an extremely eliminating diet, there is a risk of nutritional deficiencies after following it. Therefore, there is a strong need for more in-depth and comprehensive elucidation of the safety and physiological effects of the ketogenic diet used for the weight loss in overweight and obese individuals. This Project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the eight-week, isocaloric, energy-restricted, ketogenic diet as a weight management solution in women with overweight and obesity compared to the standard, balanced diet with the same calorie content.
The main objective of this study is to determine whether a behavior change weight management and wellness program (WW) delivered via an app for 6-months will be effective in improving diet quality in U.S. adult participants, relative to a control group through a randomized controlled trial.
The purpose of this study is to promote healthy weight loss among African American women, age 30 or older, who are pre-diabetic and/or have high blood pressure and who live, work, or worship in select rural communities throughout Alabama and Mississippi. The goal of the study is to help reduce the burden of obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure for these women and to collect information on the reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, maintenance, and cost effectiveness of our two evidence-base weight loss programs.
