ENB003 Plus Pembrolizumab Phase 1b/2a in Solid Tumors

Start date: February 18, 2020
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

First-in Human study evaluating the safety, tolerability and efficacy of ENB003 in combination with Pembrolizumab in solid tumors. The study is separated into two parts. Part A is a 3+3 dose escalation to define the recommended RP2D; this part will include metastatic melanoma, platinum resistant ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer patients subjects, but other solid tumors will be allowed. Once the RP2D is selected, the study will be expanded into metastatic melanoma, platinum resistant ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer subjects. A small number of sarcoma subjects will be included, as exploratory.

High Dose Inorganic Selenium for Preventing Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

SELENIUM
Start date: December 24, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of high dose inorganic selenium in preventing and relieving chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian, fallopian, or primary peritoneal cancer patients. This study will be conducted as a phase III randomized controlled trial in platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian, fallopian, or primary peritoneal cancer patients who are expected to undergo paclitaxel-carboplatin chemotherapy. A total of 68 patients need to be enrolled in this study. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the frequency of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. The secondary objectives are the evaluation of the severity of peripheral neuropathy and the quality of life to show that selenium is effective in preventing and relieving peripheral neuropathy induced by paclitaxel. Positive results in this study will lead to further studies investigating the effect of selenium on other chemotherapies that can induce peripheral neuropathy.

NCT ID: NCT04175470 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Ovarian Cancer Recurrent

Bevacizumab and Tocotrienol in Recurrent Ovarian Cancer

Start date: October 29, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

A recent study at the Department of Oncology, Vejle Hospital (NCT02399592), investigated bevacizumab and tocotrienol in ovarian cancer patients and concurrently monitored the level of methylated HOXA9 circulating tumor DNA (HOXA9 meth-ctDNA) in the blood. The rate of disease control was 70% with better results than other studies using bevacizumab alone. The toxicity was very low and attributed to bevacizumab only. When the study results were worked up they showed that patients with a significant increase of HOXA9 meth-ctDNA after the first cycle of treatment did not benefit from the treatment whereas those with stable or decreasing HOXA9 meth-ctDNA did. Therefore, in the current study patients with a high increase of HOXA9 meth-ctDNA after the first treatment cycle will discontinue treatment, as it is then considered ineffective. The remaining patients may achieve prolonged survival as predicted by their level of HOXA9 meth-ctDNA.

The IPLA-OVCA Trial, Intra-Peritoneal Local Anaesthetics in Ovarian Cancer

IPLA-OVCA
Start date: August 26, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Surgery and chemotherapy combined constitute first line treatment in women with advanced ovarian cancer. The aim of surgery apart from staging is cytoreduction, i.e. surgical resection of tumour. Radical resection of all tumour visible by the naked eye followed by adjuvant chemotherapy is associated with best chance of prolonged survival. However, because of tumour dissemination in the peritoneal cavity, radical surgery is often very extensive with surgery in all quadrants of the abdomen and multi-organ resection with substantial risk of postoperative severe complications and subsequent delay in administration of adjuvant chemotherapy. Longer time-interval between surgery to start of adjuvant chemotherapy has been associated with decrease in survival. Surgery presents opportunities not only for eradicating tumours but, paradoxically, also for proliferation and invasion of residual cancer cells. It increases the shedding of malignant cells into the blood and lymphatic circulations, inhibits their apoptosis and potentiates their invasion capacity. Additionally, the immune system, the inflammatory system and the neuroendocrine system react to surgery with important changes, which have been proven to promote progression of cancer. Several anaesthesia-related factors play an important role in perioperative tumorigenesis such as inhalational anaesthetics, opiate analgesics, local anaesthetics and regional anaesthesia, all of which may impact short-term morbidity and long-term mortality. A previous randomized placebo-controlled pilot study suggests that women who receive local anesthetics intraperitoneally preoperatively have a significantly decreased time-interval to initiation of adjuvant chemotherapy. In a prospective, randomised, multi-centre study, we plan to further assess if intraperitoneal local anaesthetics administered perioperatively during 72 h leads to early start of chemotherapy compared to placebo in patients undergoing cytoreductive surgery for FIGO stage III-IV ovarian cancer.

ICG-Enabled Mapping of Ovarian Sentinel Lymph Nodes: A Feasibility Study

Start date: August 5, 2019
Phase:

NeoVax With Nivolumab in Patients With Ovarian Cancer

Start date: November 20, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This research study is evaluating a new type of vaccine called "Personalized NeoAntigen Cancer Vaccine" in combination with Nivolumab (Opdivo®) for ovarian cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04024254 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of Serum Folate Levels in Patients Treated With Olaparib

Start date: July 21, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a study investigating folate deficiency (lack of folic acid in the blood) in patients who take the drug olaparib to treat their advanced ovarian or breast cancer. The primary goal of this study is to determine the frequency and timing of folate deficiency, and to learn more about whether giving folic acid supplements (vitamins) will help delay or avoid deficiency in these patients. Deficiency can cause doctors to reduce or stop treatment with olaparib. In this case, patients are not getting the best treatment for their cancer due to the unwanted side effect.

NCT ID: NCT04019288 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Recurrent Ovarian Carcinoma

AVB-S6-500 and Durvalumab in Treating Patients With Platinum-Resistant or Recurrent Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

Start date: October 11, 2019
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This trial studies the side effects and best dose of AVB-S6-500 when given together with durvalumab in treating patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer that is resistant to platinum therapy or has come back. Immunotherapy with AVB-S6-500 and durvalumab, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

NCT ID: NCT04015739 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Epithelial Ovarian Cancer
