Implementation Strategy Resource Package for Behavioral Classroom Interventions: Pilot Test

The purpose of this study is to pilot test for feasibility and initial promise an implementation strategy resource package that aims to support teachers in using behavioral classroom management interventions for children with hyperactive, inattentive, or impulsive behaviors. Participating teachers will be randomized to receive the resource package or support as usual and the research team will examine, a) teacher implementation of behavioral classroom interventions and b) mental health outcomes for enrolled children.

Part 2 (phase 3) aims to assess the efficacy of CSL300 on CV outcomes and safety in subjects with ASCVD or diabetes mellitus and evidence of systemic inflammation who are undergoing maintenance dialysis.

Most of the studies of H. pylori eradication were conducted in academic institutes and designed to enrolled patients who did not have comorbidities. However, patients in the real world may comorbid with diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cirrhosis, chronic kidney diseases, or others. We hypothesize that the eradication rate of H. pylori in patients with comorbidity is poor because they may be infected with antibiotics-resistant H. pylori strains or have poor medication adherence. Here, we design a study, which focus on the H. pylori eradication rates by the various regimens in the real world, especially for those with high Charlson scores. It is presumed that our data will be helpful with regard to treating such patients with H. pylori eradication in the clinical scenario.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic caused high hospitalization and mortality rates especially in critically ill patients. Unfortunately, there is no present study with a large number of patients that would offer us clear answers on the treatment of ICU COVID-19 patients with adsorption filters, extracorporeal methods and the hemoperfusion method. The purpose of this registry study is to investigate the effectiveness and safety of the extracorporeal blood purification and hemoperfusion/hemadsorption filters in treating of critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Effect of Palonosetron, Ondansetron and Dexamethasone in the Prevention of Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting

Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is an important outcome for the patient; patients generally rate PONV as worse than postoperative pain. The term PONV is typically used to describe nausea and/or vomiting or retching in the post-anesthetic care unit or within 24 hours postoperatively. Postoperative nausea and vomiting usually resolves or is treated without sequelae, but may require unexpected hospitalization and delay recovery room discharge. In the prophylaxis of PONV, ondansetron is one of the first widely used 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. Palonosetron, on the other hand, is a second generation 5-HT3 receptor antagonist with a half-life of 40 hours and higher receptor binding affinity. In addition, dexamethasone is another class of drugs that has emerged as a potentially useful prophylaxis for patients who are a corticosteroid and are at high risk of PONV with minimal side effects. However, a multimodal approach rather than antiemetic prophylaxis with a single pharmacological agent is described as a good way to reduce PONV, especially in high-risk cases. Conducted a previous systematic review and meta-analysis of the addition of dexamethasone to various 5-HT3 antagonists; however, it included only one study of palonosetron + dexamethasone. Since then, several meta-analyses have been performed on the efficacy of the combination of palonosetron and dexamethasone. This study was designed to find out the incidence of PONV by comparing the efficacy of the combination of palonosetron-dexamethasone, ondansetron-dexamethasone and dexamethasone alone for the prevention of PONV in patients undergoing pediatric laparoscopic surgery.

Characterization of Bleeding Disorders in EDS

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a disease that weakens the connective tissues (i.e. tendons and ligaments) in the human body. EDS can make the joints loose and alter skin and wound healing. It can also weaken blood vessels and organs. Many EDS patients are referred for investigation of bleeding symptoms. Although most patients will have mild symptoms such as bruising, many will experience significant bleeding that can be life-threatening. The physiological reason behind this has not been identified and therefore, treating this is challenging. In addition, patients with EDS frequently require major surgery due to complications from their connective tissue disease. These surgery carries a significant risk of catastrophic bleeding which is further magnified in this group of patients. The specific reason of clinical bleeding in patients with EDS is likely multifactorial, including skin and blood vessel fragility leading to increased bruising and poor wound healing, coagulopathies related to factor deficiency, acquired vonWillebrand disease (VWD), and notable platelet dysfunction. Despite compelling preliminary evidence, there is limited data on the diagnosis and management of platelet dysfunction in EDS patients. Therefore, in this study we will characterize hemostasis, the medical term which refers to the process of stopping blood flow, across the three most common subtypes of EDS.we will also determine the burden of illness of pathologic bleeding in patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) using validated patient reported tools.

This is a longitudinal follow-up study of the RC-002 study, in which up to 246 subjects assigned to two randomization arms will be enrolled: an adipose-derived regenerative cell (ADRC) injection arm (ADRC treatment arm) and the SOC corticosteroid injection arm (active control arm). All subjects will be randomly assigned to ADRC treatment or active control arms in a 2:1 ratio and will be followed up for 6 months. The goal of the RC-004 study is to enroll all patients that were enrolled and treated in RC-002 and follow for 3 years.
