Filter by:This Phase 2 trial will assess the safety, tolerability, efficacy, imaging pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics of RVP-001, a novel manganese-based MRI contrast agent, at three escalating dose levels. RVP-001 will be administered as a single IV bolus to subjects with known gadolinium-enhancing central nervous system (CNS) lesions (for example stable brain tumor or multiple sclerosis) who have recently had a gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA)-enhanced MRI of the brain.
This study is aim to evaluate the preliminary efficacy of GH21 combined with previous target therapy or immunotherapy in patients with advanced solid tumors.
This is an open-label pilot study of tamoxifen as chemoprevention in patients with pancreatic mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN) who will not undergo immediate resection. Up to 15 participants will be enrolled and take tamoxifen 20mg by mouth daily for up to 24 weeks.
This phase I/II trial tests the safety, side effects, and effectiveness of axatilimab in combination with retifanlimab and paclitaxel for the treatment of patients with a solid tumor that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced) or that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). Axatilimab is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as retifanlimab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Paclitaxel is in a class of medications called antimicrotubule agents. It stops cancer cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Giving axatilimab in combination with retifanlimab and paclitaxel may be safe, tolerable and/or effective in treating patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors.
With the shift to ambulatory care and the rise of ATCO oral anticancer drugs, a growing number of cancer patients are benefiting from oral treatment in an outpatient setting, which meets their needs and preference over injectable chemotherapy with more autonomy and less time spent in the hospital. However, outside the safe hospital context, the complex pharmacological profile of ATCO exposes patients to iatrogenic drug risks. These medicinal problems or Drug Related Problems DRP linked to ATCO are sources of dosage modifications and lead to sub-therapeutic doses compared to clinical trials and consequently to a reduction, in life actual, dose-intensity and expected response. Furthermore, insufficiently controlled in an ambulatory environment and due to a lack of city-hospital coordination, DRPs lead to an increase in the consumption of care. Oncoral is the pioneering multidisciplinary city-hospital monitoring of outpatients treated with oral anticancer drugs. Set up in 2014 by the Hospices Civils de Lyon, this educational monitoring is based on a tripartite hospital intervention (oncologist, pharmacist, nurse) and a structured city-hospital link with private health professionals (attending doctor, community pharmacist and freelance nurse). Multidisciplinary interventions are focused on PROs and DRPs and combine an educational approach for the patient based on their needs and potential social vulnerabilities. The PACOME real-life database will describe the population of ambulatory patients treated by ATCO benefiting from the secure multidisciplinary city-hospital Oncoral pathway with the aim of improving knowledge on this population, on the real-life use of ATCO and on new methods of organizing ambulatory cancer care. The PACOME database collects sociodemographic, clinical and therapeutic data, and experiences in this population. Patients quality of life and other PROs (symptoms and adverse effects experienced by patients), social determinants, health care consumption, the caregiver-patient relationship, the use of digital technology in health, the organization of care, the city-hospital link (interventions of actors and their temporality). This base will make it possible to optimize the treatment of patients at the individual and population level and to generate evidence in addition to clinical trials, which are expected by health professionals and decision-makers. With patient data from the secure Oncoral pathway, PACOME brings together the three major and inseparable assets of real-life databases: quality, completeness and meaning of the data. It constitutes a basis for essential academic and private collaborations for studies on data and comparative observational or interventional studies, which will contribute to the animation of the new ecosystem of real-life health data in oncology.
This clinical trial tests the effectiveness of an interactive time-restricted diet intervention (txt4fasting) in reducing neurocognitive decline and improving survival outcomes after stereotactic radiosurgery in patients with breast or lung cancer that has spread to the brain (brain metastases). Lung cancer and breast cancer are the two most frequent causes of brain metastases. The diagnosis of brain metastases is associated with poorer survival and tumor-induced and treatment-related side effects. Stereotactic radiosurgery is a type of external radiation therapy that uses special equipment to position the patient and precisely give a single large dose of radiation to a tumor. Patients who receive stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases may experience less neurocognitive side effects than with other types of brain radiation, but may still be at risk for their brain metastases growing, spreading, or getting worse. Patients with obesity and diabetes have been shown to have worse survival and increased radiation-related side effects. Evidence demonstrates that simply changing meal timing can have a positive impact on multiple health outcomes. Time-restricted eating, or prolonged nighttime fasting, has been proven to have positive effects on heart disease risk reduction, weight control management and chemotherapy side effect reduction. Txt4fasting may be effective in decreasing neurocognitive decline and improving survival outcomes in patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases from breast or lung cancer.
Tumor recurrence significantly affects survival rates following the local resection of submucosal colorectal cancers (T1 CRC). Despite this, there are currently no reliable biomarkers established to predict recurrence in T1 CRC. This study seeks to improve the prediction of recurrence-free survival in individuals who have survived T1 CRC.
This clinical trial tests the impact of the The Ohio State University Connecting Underrepresented Populations to Clinical Trials (CUSP2CT) project on clinical trial referrals and enrollment in racial/ethnic minorities. Progress in cancer prevention, detection and treatment can only be made by identifying and validating new and improved methods, compounds and modalities in clinical trials. Unfortunately, participation in clinical trials is not equal across all racial and ethnic groups, limiting progress against cancer in all population groups and further widening the disparity gap. To change this picture, concerted effort needs to be directed both at the communities at risk for being left out of trials and the systems that cause the disparities at all levels involved in accrual to clinical trials. The CUSP2CT project may have the potential to increase referral and accrual of racial/ethnic minorities to prevention/control and treatment trials.
