NCT ID: NCT05844410 Completed - COVID-19 Pandemic Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Corticosteroids Use and Clinical Outcomes in Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients: A Retrospective Study

Start date: October 20, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Despite the recommendations to avoid using corticosteroids systematically for hospitalized coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) patients, healthcare professionals used personalized treatments, including corticosteroids, as adjuncts to treat their patients due to their limited access to treatment options. This study aims to evaluate the use of corticosteroids among hospitalized COVID-19 patients with all-cause mortality as the primary outcome and to assess the predictors of all-cause mortality associated with the characteristics of the patients and the corticosteroid regimens adopted.

NCT ID: NCT05730894 Recruiting - Morality Clinical Trials

Predictors of Mortality in Patients With VA-Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation.

ECMO
Start date: February 28, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) support is a lifesaving tool used to treat cardiogenic shock, acute heart failure, or extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR). However, its use is associated with significant complications, including mortality. We aim to conduct a retrospective observational study of all patients at Heart Hospital who required VA-ECMO support due to cardiogenic shock during 1/06/2016 and 1/06/2022 to report the incidence of in-hospital mortality among patients who required VA-ECMO along with the predictors of mortality. Data will be collected to identify baseline characteristics and outcomes including clinical variables predictive of poor outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT05726565 Completed - Clinical trials for Cognitive Impairment

Impact of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Acute Heart Failure Patients With Cognitive Impairment

Start date: March 1, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In heart failure patients, neuropsychological disorders have been prospectively linked to frequent hospitalizations, recurrent cardiac events, and mortality. Cognitive dysfunction is also a frequent comorbidity in heart failure (HF) patients. The benefit of cardiac rehabilitation between patients with cognitive dysfunction and patients without cognitive dysfunction is unknown. Investigators hypothesize that patients with cognitive dysfunction benefit more from cardiac rehabilitation programs than patients without cognitive dysfunction.

NCT ID: NCT05724914 Completed - Cardiac Arrest Clinical Trials

Call to Door Timing in Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest

Start date: February 14, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The investigators aimed to investigate the effect of delayed hospitalization on the basis of the call time on the clinical outcomes of patients with OHCA patients using a nationwide OHCA registry.

NCT ID: NCT05677789 Recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Defining COVID-19 Infection Severity on Presentation to Hospital

Start date: January 4, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In the assessment of severity in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the modified Brit_x0002_ish Thoracic Society (mBTS),CURB65 et al. rules identifies patients with severe pneumonia but not patients who might be suitable for home management. A multicentre prospective study was conducted to derive and validate a practical severity assessment model for stratifying adults hospitalised with COVID-19 into different management groups.

NCT ID: NCT05675761 Recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

The Efficacy and Safety of Azovudine in the Treatment of COVID-19

Start date: January 4, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is a prospective, multicenter clinical study. It is intended to discuss the efficacy of starting Azovudine treatment as early as possible for all types of patients of COVID-19, the time of remission of specific symptoms, the proportion of patients with severe diseases, oxygen and conditions, and related adverse reactions, so as to understand the efficacy and safety of Azovudine treatment in all types of COVID-19, and provide real world data support for the treatment of the majority of COVID-19 patients.

NCT ID: NCT05585593 Recruiting - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

Registry for Hypoparathyroidism Wuerzburg

Start date: October 18, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Long-term conventional treatment of chronic hypoparathyroidism does not fully restore calcium homeostasis leading to increased morbidity, emergency events and reduced subjective health status. To further investigate general morbidity, hypocalcemic events, subjective and daily life performance in patients with chronic hypoparathyroidism a standardized interview as well as blood sampling and examinations such as echocardiography and renal ultrasound are performed.

NCT ID: NCT05549986 Completed - Trauma Clinical Trials

Discriminant Ability of the Shock Index, Modified Shock Index, and Reverse Shock Index Multiplied by the Glasgow Coma Scale on Mortality in Adult Trauma Patients: A PATOS Study

Start date: January 1, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

We evaluated a cohort of adult trauma patients transported to emergency departments. The first vital signs were used to calculate the SI, MSI, and rSIG. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUROCs) and test results were used to compare the discriminant performance of the indices on short-term mortality and poor functional outcome. A subgroup analysis of geriatric patients, traumatic brain injury, penetrating injury, and non-penetrating injury was performed.

NCT ID: NCT05527678 Completed - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

5 Years Quality of Life and Early Mobilization in ICU

Promorea-qol
Start date: October 28, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In a study published in 2018 the research team had collected the Medical Research Council score (MRCs) at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) discharge. The investigators would like to be able to examine, if the preliminary results obtained by in 2020 by Van Aerde's team are confirmed in their cohort. The investigators hypothesize that patients with an MRCs less than or equal to 55 at discharge from the ICU, have a higher mortality rate than those with a score greater than 55. The investigators would also like to examine whether or not an MRCs score ≤ 55 is associated with a difference in quality of life and autonomy, after 5 and more years post ICU.

NCT ID: NCT05487716 Completed - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

HIIT Effects on Long-term Survival in Heart Failure Patients

Start date: January 1, 2009
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The American Heart Association announces that exercise training should be considered for all stable cardiac patients (Class I, Level A). Therefore, exercise is an important issue for cardiac patients. It has also been reported that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) brings benefits on reversal of cardiac remodeling and long-term survival for HF patients. This study explores high-intensity interval training (HIIT) effects on long-term survivals in heart failure (HF) patients, diagnosed according to the Framingham criteria. This retrospective cohort study is going to analyze HF patients diagnosed between January 1, 2009 and May 31, 2022 in a tertiary care hospital. All HF patients underwent the multidisciplinary disease management program (MDP) in the hospital were initially surveyed. Participants were further categorized into HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) (left ventricle ejection fraction [LVEF]<40%), HF with mildly reduced EF (HFmrEF) (LVEF>=40% and LVEF< 50%), and HF with preserved EF (HFpEF) ( LVEF>=50%) based on the initial 2-D echocardiography. Participants will be further divided into HIIT+MDP or MDP only in each group based on patient preference. Age, sex, body height, body weight, disease duration, etiology for HF, co-morbidities, and medication were documented during follow-up (F/U). B-type natriuretic peptide, natriuretic peptide (BNP), cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) for peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak) and 2-D echocardiography for LV geometry were repeatedly assessed during follow-up. The end-point is the death of the patients or the date of May 31, 2022. All mortality causes and overall survival rates will be determined at the end of F/U. HIIT effects on long-term survival (Kaplan-Meier survival curve) for patients with different heart failure phenotypes will be estimated by log rank test. Continuous variables between different groups were analyzed by student t-test, while continuous variables before and after HIIT within groups were assessed by paired t-test. Other non-continuous variables such as sex, and co-morbidities were compared by chi-square test.
