Filter by:The proposed study aims to evaluate whether integrating mindfulness practice into an undergraduate biology course influences student levels of mindfulness, stress, positive academic emotions, and physical, mental, and social health outcomes. These outcomes will be evaluated for students who enroll in the biology course compared to students who attempted to register but were put on a waitlist (waitlisted).
The objectives of the present study are to (1) evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness in implementing teachers' training on mindfulness and developing their competency in delivering the Social, Emotional, and Ethical Development (SEED) curriculum to preschool children and (2) pilot the SEED curriculum at kindergartens to assess its effectiveness. To investigate the feasibility of SEED teacher training and the SEED Curriculum, randomized controlled trials will be conducted. A minimum of two kindergartens will be recruited to participate in the study. Half of the kindergartens, teachers, and children will receive the training and SEED curriculum, while the other half will be assigned to the waitlist control condition. Upon informed consent from the school principals and parents, parents, teachers, and children will complete pre- and post-assessments, additional follow-up assessments will be conducted in intervention group. Focus group interviews will be conducted with teachers to understand their acceptability, demand, practicality, integration, and efficacy of the teacher training at post-teacher training and delivery of the SEED curriculum for children at post-intervention. Another focus group interviews will be conducted with SEED trainers to get information about teachers' participation rate in the training session.
The investigators will conduct an randomized controlled trial (RCT) among people with Parkinson disease (PD) and freezing of gait (FOG) to evaluate the feasibility of a mindfulness intervention compared to a educational program about FOG. FOG is a severe motor disturbance that prevents people from stepping normally and is associated with anxiety, frustration, sedentary behaviors, poorer quality of life, and falls. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based practice that creates a culture to reduce stress and anxiety by increasing conscious awareness and self-compassion. In this study, the investigators will develop a mindfulness-based walking intervention to address both mental health and mobility challenges that constitute FOG.

The purpose of the study is to:Translate a mindfulness program into Spanish for Latina patients with breast cancer.Train a community health worker to facilitate the mindfulness program. Determine if this program is culturally acceptable and feasible, and Obtain pilot data on the program's effectiveness in reducing anxiety and depression
The objective of this study is to determine whether a mindfulness coaching program was efficacious at reducing work stress, improving psychological and physical health outcomes, and improving work outcomes. The target population is employed adults (18 years and older) working in the industries of media, consulting, and healthcare.
This study will include any participant who registered, and plans to attend the Inner Engineering In-Person Completion Course. In 2019, this course was offered in: Los Angeles in March, Philadelphia in April and Toronto & Dallas in November. This study has been involved in every IECO Course since 2019 and is still active today. Beginning in August 2021, investigators will recruit for the August Inner Engineering In-Person Completion Course. Investigators anticipate that this study can include up to 5,000 study participants. Participants would attend this course and complete the pre-modules regardless of whether or not they participate in this study.
