A randomized controlled trial on 40 bariatric surgery candidates who will be randomized into two arms (app vs. control). All the participants will receive the standard care of 3-6 preparation to bariatric surgery meetings with a dietitian, and only those participants who will assigned to the experimental group will get access to our study's smartphone app site during this period. Evaluations will be performed at baseline, at the end of the intervention phase (after 3-6 meetings as needed) and at 1 and 2 years post-surgery (data will be collected at 1 and 2 years post-surgery by phone calls). Data which will be collected for this study include:demographics and medical data, anthropometrics including body composition analysis, handgrip Strength, physical activity, hydration state, bariatric surgery knowledge questionnaire, quality of life by visual analogue scale, compliance to dietary and lifestyle BS recommendations, readiness for surgery, the subject's experience regarding the smartphone app, surgical data and adherence to post-surgical follow-up by the bariatric team.
A 2 x 2 cross-over dietary intervention trial designed to investigate the effects of low glycemic index (LGI) versus high glycemic index (HGI) diet on hepatic fat accumulation and gut microbiota composition in participants with NAFLD. Participants will be allocated randomly to a 2-week either high GI (HGI) or low GI (LGI) diet followed by a 4-week wash-out period and then the LGI or HGI diet, opposite to the first 2-weeks (N= 16).
This research is being done to learn if a new type of haploidentical transplantation using TCR alpha beta and CD19 depleted stem cell graft from the donor is safe and effective to treat the patient's underlying condition. This study will use stem cells obtained via peripheral blood or bone marrow from parent or other half-matched family member donor. These will be processed through a special device called CliniMACS, which is considered investigational.
The study will include all newborns in Normandie region for 3 years (about 105,000 births) for whom signed consent by one (or two) parents will be collected. Based on our previous pilot study (2011) assessing MCAD and PKU using tandem mass spectrometry-based method in Normandie region in which informed consents have been signed for all newborns (43,000) but we are expecting a great willingness to participate to this project. Thus, we are aiming to include 100,000 newborns, and the study will be continued until we reach at least this target. The primary objective is to evaluate the epidemiology of MPS1 and Pompe disease using dried blood samples in the first cohort of neonates tested in France (Normandie region).
Decompensated cirrhosis is associated with sarcopenia. TIPS is an efficient treatment of portal hypertension. Based on our retrospective data, TIPS induces in 30% of cirrhotic patients metabolic disorders associated with diabetes or pre-diabetes. The main objective is to measure the cumulative incidence of diabetes and pre-diabetes 6 months after TIPS insertion.

A prospective, randomized, mixed double- and single-blinded, placebo-controlled, cross-over clinical trial to test whether acute treatment with an IL-1 receptor antagonist impacts insulin secretion over time during the cephalic phase, defined as the first 10 minutes after the first sensorial contact to food, in healthy individuals in healthy humans (Group 1) and in obese patients with type 2 diabetes (Group 2).
