View clinical trials related to Metabolic Disease.
Filter by:Base on enriched resources from the Metabolic Syndrome cohort in children, a long-term prospective cohort study will be carried out. This cohort is a unique biochemical and genetic database of Chinese population with large number of subjects in the world. By collecting information of disease history and lifestyle, measuring clinical and metabolic parameters, especially biomarkers which can reflect the underlying mechanism of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome, we intend to sort out some unique biochemical and genetic markers for Chinese population.
An observational study was conducted in a health examination center to distinguish risk factors for health in a randomly recruited volunteers of Chinese population.
PXL770 is a direct activator of 5' adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) being developed by Poxel S.A. for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). In Part A of this study, we'll test the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics (PK) of repeated doses. In Part B, we'll co-administer PXL770 and rosuvastatin (a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor) to assess any drug-drug interaction.
Evidence-based programs to prevent diabetes among high-risk individuals are less effective among those who also have mental health needs. This study involves developing and pilot testing the first adaptation of the landmark Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle intervention to simultaneously treat prediabetes and elevated mental health symptoms. This project has large potential to impact public health, given that more than half of the U.S. adult population has either of these conditions, and is at risk for developing comorbid diabetes and mental illness.
The study team will assess "free-living" 24h glucose control using continuous glucose monitors (CGM) over an 88h period on two separate occasions. Importantly, standardized meals will be provided and will be consumed at specific times each day of the CGM measurement period. These meals will be identical on day 1 and day 3 of measurement. Each subject will complete two CGM periods, which will be identical except for the calorie and macronutrient content of the post-exercise dinner. In addition, during trial 1, two CGM's will be worn, while only 1 CGM will be worn on trial 2.
The objective of DIAGNODE-2 is to evaluate the efficacy of Diamyd compared to Placebo, upon administration directly into a lymph node in combination with an oral vitamin D/Placebo regimen, in terms of preserving endogenous insulin secretion as measured by C-peptide.
The Transition Navigator Trial (TNT) is a pragmatic randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of usual care plus a patient navigator service versus usual care plus newsletters and other educational materials, to improve transition outcomes among adolescents aged 16-21 who have chronic health conditions requiring transfer to adult specialty care. The study will provide urgently needed data to guide health care providers and policy makers regarding the provision of coordinated transition care. These results have the potential to: 1. Change care delivery 2. Improve health outcomes 3. Improve the experiences of young adult transition to adult care
To study, prospectively, the association between dietary patterns and risk of health outcomes (cardiovascular, metabolic, endocrine, neurological, skeletal muscular, cancer) in cohort study of 116,671 women age 24 to 44 years at baseline in 1989 (the Nurses' Health Study II; NHS II).
Due to the increased focus on education and changing lifestyle, college students are particularly susceptible to poor overall health and wellness due to inadequate sleep and poor dietary choices. This is particularly important because the behavioral choices college students make may affect their risk of chronic disease. This study will research these topics via an online survey, in person visit and stool sample.
The purpose of this study is to measure the effects of a single session of exercise on changes in the cellular composition of the body fat of humans.
