NCT ID: NCT04188366 Recruiting - Family Members Clinical Trials

Improving Family Engagement in Coordinated Specialty Care for First Episode Psychosis

Start date: January 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Investigators aim to develop and evaluate a culturally informed family motivational engagement strategy (FAMES) and implementation toolkit for coordinated specialty care (CSC) programs for first episode psychosis. First, 5 family member participants will be recruited into a three-month trial of FAMES and implementation toolkit. The investigators will then conduct a 16-month non-randomized, stepped-wedge trial with 50 family members from 5 CSC programs in community-based mental health clinics.

NCT ID: NCT04185896 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Perinatal Mental Health Care in Switzerland

MADRE
Start date: July 10, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This qualitative study with quantitative elements examines the health care provided to women who suffered from mental disorder during pregnancy and / or in the first year after birth (i.e. during the perinatal phase). Investigators will perform individual interviews with former PMD patients, and health and social care professionals to gain insights into current health care for PMD patients.

NCT ID: NCT04169230 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Citalopram and Self Emotional Processing

Start date: October 11, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is investigating the effect of an acute dose of citalopram on emotional processing about the self. Using a parallel-group double-blind design, participants will be randomised to receive either an acute dose of citalopram or placebo. Participants will then complete a number of widely used computer-based cognitive tasks measuring emotional processing biases towards the self. This study has also been registered on OSF: https://osf.io/nhjvs/?view_only=b39c49bddfd543b99b627dc992e49b45

NCT ID: NCT04161209 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Citalopram and Stress Reactivity

Start date: October 11, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is investigating whether acute administration of citalopram is associated with a decrease in stress reactivity in healthy volunteers, compared to placebo administration. Using a parallel-group double-blind design, participants will be randomised to receive either an acute dose of citalopram or placebo. All participants will have come in for a screening visit. On the day of the research visit (following drug administration) participants will have completed a number of widely used computer-based cognitive tasks measuring emotional processing biases. They will then complete the Oxford Cognition Stress Task, a web-based acute stress induction paradigm, which is designed to induce mild transient increases in stress and arousal. Identifying early changes in stress reactivity following antidepressant treatment will increase the investigator's knowledge of how antidepressants operate, and provide putative targets to identify early response to antidepressants.

NCT ID: NCT04157062 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Substance-Related Disorders

An Open-Label Trial of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Opioid Use Disorder

Start date: September 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to understand the role of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) in reducing opioid and other substance use and craving and improving thinking skills.

NCT ID: NCT04152655 Recruiting - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

A Study of Efficacy and Safety of Idebenone vs. Placebo in Prodromal Parkinson Disease

SEASEiPPD
Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To investigate whether 24 months of idebenone may reduce the progression from Prodromal Parkinson disease (PPD) to Parkinson disease (PD).

NCT ID: NCT04128644 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Thoughts and Health - Preventing Depression in Adolescents

Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to test the feasibility of implementing an Icelandic cognitive-behavioral program designed to prevent depression, called "Thoughts and Health" in a Swedish school setting. The investigators will also evaluate whether implementation of the program has an impact on the participating students, regarding both their mental health and their success in finishing junior high school with passing grades.

NCT ID: NCT04118283 Recruiting - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

Assessment and Treatment for Chronic Pain in Veterans With Serious Mental Illness

CPSMI
Start date: March 18, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Chronic pain has a highly negative impact on Veterans, especially those with serious mental illness (SMI). Chronic pain leads to poorer mental health and physical functioning, and represents a critical obstacle to rehabilitation and recovery. Despite known high prevalence rates of chronic pain in SMI populations, there is little research to: a) evaluate nonpharmacological pain management strategies in this population, and b) examine directional relations between chronic pain and SMI symptoms. This study aims to address research and clinical gaps by: a) testing the feasibility and acceptability of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) - a VA evidence-based psychotherapy for chronic pain - in Veterans with SMI, and b) better assessing the complex relation between chronic pain and psychiatric symptoms and their impact on functioning. Results from this study will inform us as to whether CBT-CP is feasible to implement, acceptable to Veterans with SMI, and worth examining in its standard or in an optimized form in a larger clinical trial.

NCT ID: NCT04113161 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Disruptive Behavior Disorder

Navigating Resource-Constrained Systems and Communities to Promote the Behavioral Health of Black Youth

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to reduce racial disparities in child mental health care by examining the impact of a child behavioral health navigator (cbhNs) intervention in which cbhNs (n=15) will be trained to deliver an evidence-based family engagement, psychoeducation and support intervention to 390 early adolescent youth (10 to 14 years) and their families of African descent living in geographically defined St. Louis north city and county neighborhoods.
