Filter by:In this study, 60 depressed patients who meet the criteria will randomly be divided into a test group and a control group, with 30 patients in each group. The test group will be given Volatile oil of Cang-Ai (hereafter referred to as CAVO) for inhalation and the control group will be given Bergamot for inhalation. The observation indicators are that after one and two sessions of the intervention, the patients' blood pressure, heart rate, depression scale scores, and changes in functional near-infrared spectroscopy(fNIRS). This randomized controlled trial will be used to look at the clinical efficacy of CAVO in patients with depression.
Prevention of depressive disorders has become a key priority for the NIMH, but the investigators have no widely available public health strategy to reduce morbidity and mortality. To address this need, the investigators developed and evaluated the primary care based-technology "behavioral vaccine," Competent Adulthood Transition with Cognitive-Behavioral Humanistic and Interpersonal Therapy (CATCH-IT). The investigators will engage N=4 health systems representative of the United States health care system, and conduct a factorial design study to optimize the intervention in preparation for an implementation study and eventual dissemination.
Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effect of diabetes training on HbA1c, levels of depression and quality of life of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus adolescents by using the Web-Based Watson Human Care Model. Methods: The study was conducted with 30 adolescents between 11-18 years old who was followed by Child Endocrinology Department and who accepted to participate in the research. A web page was developed by considering Training Guide for Adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes and processes of Watson Human Care Theory. Live video interviews were done with adolescents in the experiment group on 14 sessions and these interviews were recorded.
The purpose of this study is to compare two clinical approaches to youth mental health care.
This clinical study evaluates risk and protective factor to develop psychopathology in transitional age youth. 300 patients will be recruited at the age of 17 years old and assessed at baseline and 2 years later.
The present study is a randomized control trial to evaluate the efficacy and effectiveness of a school-based group prevention program (Fuerte) in San Francisco Unified School District Public Schools. In addition, the present study will also inform effective procedures for adaptations of the Fuerte program for other newcomer immigrant youth from non-Latin American countries. Fuerte targets newcomer Latinx immigrant youth (five years or less post arrival in the U.S.) who are at risk of experiencing traumatic stress. In particular, the Fuerte program focuses on increasing youth's mental health literacy, improving their social functioning, and identifying and connecting at-risk youth to specialty mental health services. The program will be implemented by mental health providers from various county community-based organizations, as well as from the SFUSD Wellness Centers, who already offer mental health services in SFUSD schools.
Adolescence is a period of many physical, mental, emotional, and social changes. It is also associated with risk behaviour conducts. Nonetheless, not all youths under disadvantage, adversity, or exposure to risk factors experience negative mental health outcomes. The concept of RESILIENCE provides one possible explanation for the ability of some individuals to maintain positive mental health. Resilience is thus the ability of an individual or community to adapt to life challenges or adversities while maintaining mental health and well-being. The increasing prevalence of mental disorders amongst children (around 10-20% of young people) makes positive mental health promotion in schools necessary through intervention programmes. UPRIGHT (Universal Preventive Resilience Intervention Globally implemented in schools to improve and promote mental Health for Teenagers) is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union´s Horizon 2020 programme (No. 754919). UPRIGHT general aim is to promote mental well-being and prevent mental disorders in youth by enhancing resilience capacities. It has been designed as a whole school approach addressing early adolescents, their families and the school community to finally create a real mental well-being culture at schools.
It is of great importance to generate interventions that help ensure greater inclusion and social participation of the population that was and is a victim of the armed conflict, especially in the post-conflict transition in Colombia, and to influence development in the post-accord period through relationships between groups and society. The purpose of this study is to develope web-based cognitive behavioral therapy for Korean adoldescents who have a mild depression. And we will investigate whether web-based cognitive behavioral therapy is more effective than supportive psychotherapy for treating depressed adolescents. Our hypothesis is web- based cognitive behavioral is more effective than supportive psychotherapy
