Filter by:The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the overall usability of the Philips AirWaze investigational device in patients indicated for CBCT-guided navigation bronchoscopy procedure. The main questions it aims to answer are to assess the: - overall usability of the device - accuracy of the tool-in-lesion confirmation scan Participants will undergo bronchoscopy with the new navigation device and additional confirmation scans. Follow-up visit at 7days will be performed.
The aim of this study is to examine the peripheral muscle oxygenation of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at rest, during submaximal exercise and recovery, and to examine the effects of disease severity and respiratory functions on peripheral muscle oxygenations. In this study, the effect of disease severity and respiratory problems on peripheral muscle metabolism of patients with COPD will be explained.
The purpose of this Phase III study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tozorakimab administered subcutaneously (SC) in adult participants with symptomatic COPD with a history of ≥ 2 moderate or ≥ 1 severe exacerbations of COPD in the 12 months prior to enrolment. Participants should be receiving optimised treatment with inhaled maintenance therapy (ICS/LABA/LAMA triple therapy, or dual therapy if triple is not considered appropriate) throughout at least the last 3 months prior to enrolment.
The goal of this NIH-sponsored study is to characterize three biomarkers derived from 129Xe gas exchange MRI and to understand how they change in response to interventions.
The concerned patients are children and adults suffering from idiopathic interstitial pneumonias, other chronic fibrosing interstitial pneumonias with a progressive phenotype, and interstitial pneumonia associated with Scleroderma and related cases of patients carrying a mutation on one of the telomere-associated genes. This is a national, observational, longitudinal, multicenter study that will be conducted retrospectively and prospectively. It aims to collect consistent and comparable clinical data for patients and their relatives, whether they carry a mutation or not, affected by diffuse idiopathic interstitial pneumopathy. The expected duration of the study, including data analysis, is approximately 10 years (5 years for participant enrollment and 5 years of follow-up, in addition to the steps for data management and statistical analyses). Each participating center will inform every participant by providing an information sheet, and their written consent will be obtained before including them in the study and commencing data collection. Prospective medical data will be collected at 6 months to 1 year after enrollment and then at least once per year for patients up to 5 years and 5 years for their relatives. Participants will complete a self-questionnaire during their regular follow-up consultations or by accessing a secure interface.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is one of the most common autoimmune diseases, characterized by chronic inflammatory bone and cartilage destruction. Although treatment including anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor antibodies has been successful, only 20% to 30% of patients have achieved complete remission. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a common complication of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Approximately 5-10% of RA patients have clinically significant rheumatoid arthritis associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD), with a mortality rate of 2-10 times that of RA-non ILD patients. The median survival after diagnosis is between 3-8 years. Although there are multiple biomarkers for RA-ILD, such as anti citrullinated protein antibody (ACPA), MUC5B mutant gene, KL-6, etc., none of these biomarkers can reliably predict the disease and prognostic risk of RA-ILD. Therefore, improving the prediction of RA complicated with ILD and exploring risk factors for the progression and prognosis of RA-ILD can contribute to early diagnosis and treatment, and is of great significance in preventing RA lung injury and death. This study aims to screen differential serum biomarkers between RA patients and RA-ILD patients through prospective cohort studies, to explore whether these differential serum biomarkers are a risk factor for RA patients complicated with ILD, and whether they affect the clinical prognosis of RA-ILD patients.
This is a randomized, double blind, double dummy, active-controlled, parallel-group study to assess the efficacy and Safety of HRG2005 inhalation in patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Approximately 200 patients with moderate to severe COPD will be randomized into the study.
The planned research will enable the assessment of rehabilitation's effects using two pulmonary rehabilitation models: conventional and supplemented with an education program for patients hospitalized due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Patients with fibrotic insterstitial lung disease (ILD) participating in inpatient rehabilitation or in outpatient pulmonary care will be invited to participate in this observational study. Patients will fill out questionnaire regarding quality of life and symptoms at baseline and follow-up (at the end of rehabilitation or after the second outpatient ILD consultation). Additionally, clinical data obtained in clinical routine or for the IIP registry will be used for this project. The aim is to assess changes in self-efficacy and quality of life over time and to establish a control cohort for a later feasibility study on a educational and self-management intervention (currently in planning).
The aim of the study In this study, pranayama yoga practices are the sub-dimensions of respiratory parameters, symptom and disease affection level, psychosocial adjustment and psychosocial adjustment in individuals with COPD. It was planned in a randomized controlled manner to examine the effects of healthcare compliance, professional environment, family environment, sexual relations, extended family relationships, social environment and psychological pressure. Pranayama yoga practices are aimed to reduce the frequency of symptoms and the level of disease exposure in individuals with COPD. Pranayama yoga practices are aimed to increase psychosocial adjustment in individuals with COPD. Pranayama yoga practices aim to increase compliance with health care, occupational, social and family environment, sexual and extended family relationships, and psychological pressure, which are the sub-dimensions of psychosocial adjustment in individuals with COPD. It is observed that all the yoga practices performed have improved the pulmonary functions of individuals with COPD, decrease the severity of symptoms, relieve inflammation, and increase muscle strength and physical performance. It was concluded that because of yoga increases awareness in patients, patients significantly reduce their level of depression and anxiety and adapt to social life. Yoga improves patients' quality of life by alleviating symptoms and increasing self-awareness. pranayama yoga practices are safe, home-applied, effective, cost-effective, complementary to drug therapy and can be performed during pulmonary rehabilitation for individuals with COPD (1-2) . The results of this study are important in guiding caregivers and healthcare professionals during the holistic care of COPD individuals and in pulmonary rehabilitation.
