Filter by:The study aims to assess the effects of daily consumption of nutrients-fortified eggs on eczema condition in individuals with eczema. It is hypothesised that daily consumption of nutrients-fortified egg, which is rich in antioxidants, will improve eczema conditions in individuals with eczema as compared to consumption of regular eggs.
Our institution implemented a protocol to administer an emergent IV dye preparation for stroke alert patients requiring advanced neuroimaging. The emergent IV dye preparation consists of diphenhydramine 50 mg IV once, famotidine 20 mg IV once, and dexamethasone 10 mg IV once, followed immediately by Computed Tomography (CT) Angiography and/or CT Perfusion.
The purpose of this study is to assess the real-world outcomes differences between apalutamide or enzalutamide plus androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for the treatment of participants with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC).
Comparison of the clinical effectiveness of self etch adhesive and fluoride varnish in reducing dentin hypersensitivity in patients with gingival recession. A Randomized Clinical Trial ABSTRACT Objective: To compare the clinical effectiveness of self etch adhesive and fluoride varnish in reducing dentin hypersensitivity in patients with gingival recession Study Design: Randomized Clinical Trial Place of Study: Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, Peshawar Dental College, Warsak Road. Methodology: 142 diagnosed cases of Dentin hypersensitivity from outpatient department of nephrology, Prime Hospital Peshawar will be referred to operative department, Peshawar dental college for Comparison of the clinical effectiveness of self etch adhesive and fluoride varnish in reducing dentin hypersensitivity in patients with gingival recession. Results: Conclusion:
The purpose of the study is to determine if the intermittent use of androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) in participants with metastatic castrate-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) who reached a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level < 0.2 nanograms/millilitres (ng/mL) after 6 months of treatment with apalutamide and ADT combination therapy provides non-inferior radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) and a reduced burden of hot flashes measured as 18-month percent change in severity adjusted hot flash score.
Cow's milk protein allergy is a sensitivity reaction against cow's milk protein and and is calcified as IgE-medaited, non- IgE mediated and mixed type according to the underlying immunological mechanism. Cow's Milk related Symptom Score ( CoMiSS) Considers general manifestation and dermatological, gastrointestinal and respiratory symptoms.
There is a lack of long-term clinical studies comparing different restorative materials; most of the available studies have only looked at class I cavities or examined post-operative sensitivity in non-caries cervical lesions. The purpose of this study is to measure postoperative sensitivity in clinical settings at 3-month intervals for class 1 and 2 direct posterior restoration
Background: The aim of study was to investigate the effectiveness of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) use before in-office bleaching to prevent risk and intensity of tooth sensitivity. Methods: thirty patients were selected for this clinical trial. Before bleaching procedures with 38 % hydrogen peroxide, the participants were randomly divided into two groups of 15 subjects. Test group: the patients teeth received a preliminary LLLT procedure by an 810 nm diode laser with 0.5 Watt for 30 s for an energy density of 15 J/cm2 and a group placebo: the patients received the same preliminary LLLT but with the device switch off. All patients were instructed to report their cold sensitivity experiences immediately, 1 h, 24 h, and 48 h after the end of bleaching by a visual analog scale score between 0-10.
The goal of this split mouth clinical trial is to compare clinical efficacy of diode laser and gas ozone in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity (DHS) of non-carious-cervical lesion. The main questions it aims to answer are: - gas ozone affects dentine hypersensitivity? - diode laser affects dentine hypersensitivity? Participants, affected of DHS , were treated with gas ozone and diode laser. The pain severity was quantified according to the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after the treatmens.
- Recently, Herbal formulations have gained wide popularity in management of Dentinal hypersensitivity owing to the additive effects of active anti-inflammatory ingredients like Curcuma longa, Clove oil, Acacia arabica and Spinach leaves in addition to desensitizing ingredients like Potassium nitrate and/or Sodium fluoride. - Jasmate herbal formulations which contains Potassium Nitrate along with aqua, calcium carbonate, sodium cocoyl glutamate, sorbitol 70%, glycerin, curcuma longa, arginine hydrochloride, erythritol, sodium saccharin, hydrated silica, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, elettaria cardamomum, foeniculum vulgare, melaleuca leucadendra, eucalyptus globules, aloe barbadensis, carnosic acid, zinc oxide, hydroxyapatite, propolis, hippophae rhamnoides, syzygium aromaticum, myrtus communis, sodium benzoate and sodium fluoride7, where such formulations claim to have an anti-inflammatory action due to the active ingredient i.e. curcuma longa which further reduces the DH and have a synergistic effect. - Efficacy of desensitizing preparations containing the above ingredients, in the form of Jasmate was tested in the laboratory along with BioMin F and results were encouraging with sufficient occlusion of the dentinal tubules in both the groups without statistically significant differences in the results. - The biocompatibility (cytotoxicity) of Jasmate toothpaste preparation was evaluated in the laboratory by using human gingival fibroblasts at different concentrations. Different tests like cell cycle analysis, apoptosis / necrosis and MTT were done and Jasmate toothpaste preparation showed the lowest cytotoxicity as compared to BioMin F toothpaste preparation. Jasmate toothpaste preparation showed more than 92% of live cells in all concentrations. - The current randomized controlled clinical trial will be conducted to evaluate safety and efficacy of Jasmate toothpaste preparation in the management of DH post scaling and root planing in patients with chronic periodontitis.
